Characters: Open Location: the Nemesis Content Warnings: none Plot Summary: Now fully repaired, Ravage wanders the Nemesis and reacquaints himself with the ship itself and its inhabitants.
There was something to be said for being back on familiar territory. He knew this ship, he knew its walkways and hidden places. This was his territory, his home where he knew his place and his purpose. And now that he could use his weapons and comms it was safe for him to venture further than Soundwave's protection. Being small was useful, but it also meant he could get stepped on or shot at by those that didn't particularly like his very feral and fickle nature. He didn't care for having 'friends', so long as he was taken care of and Soundwave was happy with him that was all that mattered. But he'd never gone out of his way to make enemies of the other Decepticons either. So he wandered, looking to reforge the mental pathways that gave him a map of the ship, and curious to meet and harass some of the big ones around.
As long as he didn't piss anyone off. Of course most of them wouldn't kill him, they didn't dare, but he could be damaged. And if he got damaged by one of them he couldn't be useful, and a useless Decepticon didn't last long.
So he slinked around, looked into various rooms and compartments, and chose to be as social as he was capable of.
It had not slipped Megatron's attention that Ravage was on board the Nemesis, a thought that quite pleased him. Even though he had been injured, Ravage had been a loyal servant, always achieving a desired result in some way, shape, or form. In such a way.. Ravage was to him (and by extension Soundwave) as the turbofox pet was to Kaon.
A loyal hunter.
When word had reached the tyrant of Ravage's recovery, he wasted no time seeking the small Decepticon out. He scoured the halls of the Nemesis, making it clear to any who dared pass him that he had no time for their shenanigans. Then again, when did he ever?
It took some time, but crimson optics eventually spotted the dark creature slinking around the ship. Megatron followed behind, his voice echoing down the hall to grab Ravage's attention.
He heard someone plodding along somewhere behind him and put himself close to the wall so as to allow the larger mech to pass him if he so chose. He did not want to be stepped on, and it was much easier to get out of the way than make a fuss about it.
He did not expect to be spoken to in the familiar tones of his leader. The feline shaped mech turned and quickly dipped his head in a bow, acknowledging with respect the mech that ruled them all. "Lord Megatron." His head canted and he looked up at the lord.
He wondered what mood the other was in, as sometimes he could climb the bulk of the other to perch on his shoulder. Ravage was often the favored pet, and he enjoyed the privilege. But he'd learned long ago to allow Megatron do make the first move in the matter of how his mood was. Sometimes the warlord didn't have the time or inclination to be perched on.
"I am well. Soundwave made certain I was put back together in good time and I am ready for anything you would have me do, my lord. I am, as always, yours to command." And that would remain so, unless his boss decreed it differently. His loyalty was first to Soundwave and then to Megatron. So, as long as one stayed loyal to the other, there would be no problem.
There were many moods in the world, but there were only ever four that Megatron exhibited at all times. First there was anger, quickly followed by indifference and pleased. The rarest among them was melancholy, and that was only ever reserved for when he was alone or with the most trusted of allies. Melancholy for the past, those he could not save and persuade to join his side. Mechs like Terminus. Such a feeling was rare, however, and he refused to ever let it show if he could help it.
But for Ravage today, it was pleased.
"Excellent. I am pleased to hear of your recovery, Ravage. Your reconnaissance is only matched by Laserbeak, and we cannot afford to have you off the field for long." Megatron honestly would not have minded it in the least if the smaller Decepticon leaped onto his shoulder as they spoke, curious of what he had to say. Another favor granted to those who served him well~.
"I am in need of locating the Autobot base. Optimus Prime and his troops cannot hide from me forever, and we have narrowed the location down to the Earth city of.. Jasper, Nevada. When I find their base, they will not see our attack coming."
Megatron's mood was good. Perfect. Ravage was getting tired of looking up at the massive mech. With a quick judge of the height he took a few steps back then ran and lunged forward, digging claws into the wall to get up high enough to then clamber up the warlord's frame to his shoulder. The others armor was so thick that he doubt he even so much as dented the paint, so he settled himself like a Decepticon shaped scarf on the larger shoulder to continue their conversation.
"Laserbeak is best in the air, and I am the best on the ground. That is what makes for a good spy team, my lord." He shifted in to rest against the other's neck, relaxing there as was his want to do when he was riding in his privileged spot. Let them call him a pet, he was a pet. A deadly, pampered, ruthless pet.
As for his new orders he took those in and considered his options. "I'll get every map from the human's satellite array of the area and pinpoint the most likely locations they could have settled." A pause as he started that process while he told the other his plans. "From there I can systematically search each location on foot much faster than our land bound troops would manage, and I take allot less energon to fuel than a squad does. I'm small and they won't expect me. Only one who might detect me is their paranoid security officer." With Jazz now supposedly on their side it was only a small chance that anyone would believe it if Red Alert sounded the alarm for an intruder.
"My lord is wise in choosing this assignment for me." And he wasn't being a suck up, it was true. He admired Megatron for knowing which of his assets would best be used in each situation. In this case, it happened to be him. If he thought someone else was better suited he'd have said so, his lord wasn't going to squish him for it.
"With your permission I'd like to linger within Autobot territory a few days so long as my position isn't compromised. I'll send data of the layout of the base and the count of soldiers at Prime's command at the location." The extra time would be to add to that perhaps which medics were there and who would be easiest to take should his lord wish it.
