Characters: Ser-ket, Open to Decepticons Location: Arctic Circle, somewhere close to the outskirts of Greenland Content Warnings: N/A Plot Summary: Ser-Ket has been in an self-imposed stasis for thousands of years, but modern day has finally caught up to her.
Low cracking sounds could be heard from the once thick ice, worn down by the change of climate and human interference. Small drips feel from the gradually melting ice, seeping into the cracks or falling to the hard packed snow around the mysterious frozen object. Just one more shift in the thinning cold prison, another loud crack...
A low rumbling soon could be heard, a pair of red-orange optics lighting up, the creature within growling low in her chest, beginning to shift, squirm, and struggle within her icy prison. Her systems were still slow to respond, her joints still stiff from the years being encased in ice. 'Just have to get a little room...' Ser-ket thought, moving her stiff neck plates before shifting her jaw until she finally felt the tiniest bit of change, just enough room for her to start generating her flames, heating up the ice just a bit to weaken it.
Finally, the ice shattered, causing Ser-ket to fall forward rather ungracefully onto the ice face first, causing her to snarl as she tried to regain her bearings. She may have been out of being trapped in such cramp quarters, but she was far from being completely out of the woods yet. Letting out a soft grunt, the Predacon pushed herself up from the snow, feeling it give way beneath her feet but remaining solid enough she could stand. Albeit, her body felt heavy and sluggish, being trapped in such bitter, freezing cold conditions no doubt causing havoc on her systems. Just the smallest movements caused a remaining thin layer of ice to crack and fall to the ground, her optics narrowing for a moment before focusing once more.
Some yards away she could see a human encampment, no doubt hunkered down for the early morning chill. Her first thought was to get as far as she could away from the fleshlings, snorting softly, "Their structures have changed, but undoubtedly not their habits." She muttered as she trudged through the snow until she found some frozen boulders to duck down behind, the chilly weather and lack of much energy slowing her down considerably already.
She had to attempt to make contact with someone. "This is Predacon warrior Ser-ket. I'm sending this message to request assistance, and a few cubes of energon if possible." Ser-ket called over the Decepticon communications channels, at least the open air ways. From there, she could only wait and see.
He'd been lurking around in the communications room, just quietly considering the world and those that came by when the comm came through. Normally he'd have gone and made sure Soundwave knew someone was trying to make contact, but it was such a simple request and he could bring energon himself so he chose to go.
Ravage regretted his choice when he came out of the land bridge in snow up to his underside. The feline snarled and stalked along, plowing thorugh the powdery mess with irratation. He had energon cubes with him, he'd fetch the new arrival and go home where it was warm.
He hated this planet.
When he found the larger being he clambered up on the frozen boulders she was hunkered down behind poked her with his paw. He didn't use his comms very often, so he hadn't bothered to announce himself prior to this. "I've brought you energon." His tones were louder than he liked, but the wind was blowing pretty hard and it was cold enough that he didn't have much choice. "Decepticon Ravage." He offered up to the being in front of him. His head tipped, red optics glowing brighter as he considered the other Cybertronian. "Do you require medical assistance?" He wasn't trained for that. No, he'd have to bring her home to get treated if she needed it.
All Ser-ket could do was hunker down, pressing her tail and wings closer to her form as she curled up slightly. It was a blow to her pride to appear so weak and helpless, but she had spent years in the ice, been in stasis longer than most would like. She was honestly regretting her decision all those years ago to choose such a place as a resting spot until she was awakened. And this wasn't what she imagined waking would be like.
A tap on her frame made Ser-ket tense for a moment. Despite hailing the Decepticon communication channels, that didn't mean an enemy could have detected her energy signature by now either, so to say the least she was cautious. Lifting her head, Ser-ket spared a brief glance to see who had tapped her, finding herself faced with one of the more famous Decepticon scouts, Ravage. "One of Soundwave's little agents. I'm aware of who you are Ravage." Ser-ket told him, her frame relaxing a bit more, pushing herself up to a sitting position and couldn't be more relieved to see the energon he had with him.
Before she remotely considering answering his inquiry about needing medical attention, she was immediately gulping down the sweet energy, feeling the strength seeping back into every part of her being. Once the cubes were done, she finally could focus on Ravage.
"As far as I can tell, no. Just a serious case of defrosting after those thousands of years in being in this...frozen liquid." She gave a look of disdain towards the snow and ice. Ordinarily, she loved nature and all its wonders, but she had more than her fair share of snow to last her ten lifetimes. "Don't suppose you have a base we can go to and get out of this wind?"
Well, at least she hadn't called him a minion. Or a drone. He'd had other Decepticons call him both at one time or the other. Minion wasn't too bad, seeing as he did primarily serve Soundwave, but he was far too intelligent to be a drone of any sort. Just because he was small. Bah! At least she knew who he was, it made things easier. Less talking required.
The feline hunkered against the brisk wind, claws digging into the boulder he was perched on in an effort to not have to swim in the snow again. He was a scout, not a snow plow! He offered up the energon immediately and watched the femme down them with a dispassionate stare. Well, she didn't seem to be damaged.
"May have to undergo check anyway." He warned her of that. Nothing was worse than a Decepticon medic. They weren't like their enemies. A medic usually doubled as one of the more viscous frontline fighters, or even Megatron's pet torturer. Either way, he went to Soundwave when he needed repairs. Unless it was major, then he had to suck it up.
He shuddered when she spoke of being under the ice and snow, knowing exactly what she meant. "Try being covered in clingy vines and thick mud. Its worse." He shuddered again as memory returned of his own landing on this planet. But she said she'd been here thousands of years. So had she been waiting for them? Or had she gotten tossed through a space bridge and somehow ended up here ahead of the rest of their forces? Questions to be asked and answered by whoever she ended up reporting to. He didn't really care all that much.
"The Nemesis is here. Can call a land bridge." He offered it absently as he scouted around in search of either enemy or a random human that had gotten too curious. Either way he'd be ready for them, weapons bared. "Soon as you're ready we'll go." Just had to get to open ground, no need to open the bridge in view of a human settlement.
"Suppose I wouldn't have much say if I did or not." Ser-ket admitted, knowing full well there was no telling what the years of cold had done to her systems. No doubt had done a number on them. So while she was going through some deep defrosting, a medic could check her systems. Not that she was particularly looking forward to any of that when she was more than eager to get back into helping the Decepticon cause.
Once she had finished the last bit of the energon Ravage had brought, the Predacon femme finally pushed herself to all fours. Just the movement was uncomfortable and stiff, her joints whining in protest at the movement and pieces of ice audibly cracking and falling from the seams. If that wasn't the most uncomfortable feeling Ser-ket was trying not to imagine mud and vines stuck on her frame. Now mud, she had been experienced that during her time on ancient Earth, plus sand and other unfortunate elements. "I feel your pain, trust me. Sand is not much better, harder to get out than even ice." Ser-ket told him as she forced herself to move a little, working out some of that stiffness before she felt ready.
"But, we should get going this way." She nodded her head behind her, indicating away from the human settlement she had seen. "The humans are back where I first broke from my cold prison." But there was a small pause, seeing Ravage was practically clinging to the icy rocks, possibly to avoid having to trek through the snow once more. And she honestly didn't blame him for that.
She extended her tail then, gently lifting the casseticon from his perch and moving him to rest on her back. Considering she had a much easier time pushing through the snow without almost getting lost, it seemed like the better option. "Just hang tight though." She told him as she began trudging through the hard packed snow and ice, squinting her optics against the wind until she came to more open ground. "Probably should call that ground bridge while we have an opportunity, this isn't going to clear up any time soon." Ser-ket spoke over the wind.
He shuddered in revulsion. "Hate this planet." He told her as he hunkered against the biting wind on his rock, claws digging into the surface. He hated snow. He hated mud and dirt and all the blasted things this planet was made of! "Humans not problem. Shred them easily, but makes a mess." He didn't really feel like digging that out of his gears either so they would live for now.
"Medic not so bad, just catch 'em on a good day." Decepticon medics were cringe worthy, but some of them at least knew their craft well enough to get things done. As long as they weren't Constructicons, who in his experience only liked to take things apart to 'study' them rather than repairing. But that may be his biased speaking. He preferred Soundwave tend him if possible.
When Ser-ket lifted him he clung to her tail and yowled as he was startled, then hissed at her once he was placed safely on her back. At least he didn't have to walk in the snow. He hunkered down against her back instead and activated his communications relay, calling the ground bridge to their position. "Femme should warn Ravage before doing that again. Don't like being picked up by strangers." Well he'd taken it pretty well, all things considered. She'd get some leeway since she was waking from a long stasis sleep, but only right now.
"Decepticon medics have a good day? That's news to me." Ser-ket responded, rarely ever knowing Decepticon medics to have a good day. Their good days probably entailed taking their sweet time actually repairing a bot than getting it done fast and quick. That wasn't to say some of them weren't capable, but many of them were sadistic and cared not for making their patients feel less pain as possible.
Though it took Ser-ket some will power not to laugh at Ravage's reaction to picking him up. She figured she might have startled him but she wasn't quite expecting that reaction of all things. Luckily, her head was facing forward when the slightest grins formed on her maw. "My apologies Ravage, this snow can get quite deep, I don't think Soundwave would be too thrilled if you got lost in the snow and froze up like I did." She told him, managing a straight face when she glanced back at the feline, continuing to slowly pushed through the snow until a bright green vortex opened before them. Ah, good timing for once.
But as she pressed on towards the ground bridge her foot sank a bit deeper on one part, a crackling sound soon following. "Thin ice!" She growled as she stepped back slightly but the cracking only grew louder. "My apologies again but going to have to move fast." Extending her tail she held Ravage firmly as she dashed across the snow, the ice breaking further from her weight as she charged right for the ground bridge, throwing herself and Ravage through as the ice gave way at that moment and seconds later came sliding through into the Nemesis with a grunt and hitting her side on the metal wall.
"Ow...not the best landing." She groaned, releasing her hold on Ravage and shaking her head slightly.
