Things seemed quite ordinary on this fine day, however.. it would not stay that way for long.
Floating through the air.. a group of particles danced around as it moved around the woods of Crown City. It did not yet have a form aside from it's present appearance, but to the naked eye.. it could not be seen. Not yet anyway. The form was much too weak. It needed something in order to help it grow.
A host perhaps..?
It lie in wait as it watched the organic life go about it's business. So unaware.. So.. unnecessary?
But then, the form spotted something of interest. A girl, but there was something quite peculiar about her. It could sense something from her that no other creature it had seen possessed. Mechanical enhancements..? No. Something familiar. Something.. Cybertronian. Yes, yes that would do. It moved closer to the girl, making it's move as she yawned.
Once it could get a closer look at her protoform, the form could understand the girl's programming. What she really was.
Designation: Sari Sumdac
Origin: Unknown
Properties: Organic and Cybertronian
Weaponry: Offline
Offline..? Why would they be offline? A little tinkering with the programming and the form could see what this Techno-Organic could do. Could she be a suitable ally?
Azusa Skates: Online
Just one at a time. It would keep it's presence hidden for now, but if Sari proved herself, then just maybe..
Another day of walking to the Autobot base in Crown City for Sari. Sure she could have just flown right on over with the jetpack, but sometimes walking could be fun. That, and you could only fly on in so many times and accidentally scare someone because they didn't see you coming.
Even though the base was nothing like her home, it had a nice and welcoming feel to it. All of her friends were there, and she practically considered them all family at this point.. and it wasn't just because she technically was Cybertronian.
A soft yawn escaped from the girl, not even aware of the other presence around her. Nope~. Everything was completely normal and fine. Just out of habit, Sari opened up her palm, creating a small ball of energy roughly the size of a baseball. She tossed it up and down in her hand as she walked.
And then she stopped.. and suddenly felt herself bounce off the ground ever so slightly before falling onto the ground and on her behind. What the heck had even happened?
As the teenager looked down at her feet she noticed something she hadn't before. Skates! They weren't like roller blades, but had more of a resemblance to ice skates that matched her eyes. "Cool!! I didn't even know I could do that!"
If only she knew what would come as her powers one by one began to reactivate.
Things had been busy at the Scrapyard for once, well to a point. With a few new members in their midst, even a proper medic after having to rely on Ratchet on and off and Fixit as well. Bumblebee couldn't help feeling a mix of pride and worry. Pride in knowing his team was thriving when it had started out so small, if even still being a ragtag team. But the worry that he could properly lead, to do his job well enough that things could keep running semi-smoothly.
Still, that confidence in his abilities waxed and waned, ever creeping up on Bumblebee of possibly failing the task given to him by Optimus...
Shaking his head, the former scout walked around the scrapyard as he often did when he had much on his mind. Lately, his concern had been to the recent discovery of Sari's techno-organic nature, the fact she had Cybertronian tech within her. Just how deep did these enhancements go? Or were they enhancements at all? A part of Bumblebee felt like he had seen these abilities, knew she half Cybertronian, but then the knowledge slipped as quickly as it came. Why did he know that about her? In fact, why did he even know she was techno-organic?
"Maybe Sepsis could do some scans, see what we're dealing with." He muttered to himself as he approached the main area of the scrapyard, his door wings twitching as he thought about it. But, there was the matter of actually having Sari around first before they could do anything.
Almost as though on cue, Sepsis herself spoke up. "As long as it's not an emergency." She had been nearby, organizing her tools after a quick repair to Strongarm's doorwing that had mysteriously "gotten stuck". Sepsis herself felt it had to do with the fact that Strongarm had napped under a particularly sap-drippy tree.
She then tapped her chin with a bronze-hued digit-tip. "Whatcha need checked out anyway? You got some damage? Or someone you're wanting me to scan that isn't here?" Her wings seemed to flit with thought, a habit she had gotten into when she had first been forged.
Blue optics cast a glance around behind her glasses; with a delicate pinky digit she pushed the glasses back up and gave a tilt of her helm as though listening for something, watching for something. Something in her seemed to always be vigilant.
Chris was visiting the base to get out of his own base for a bit.
Honestly, he had needed it - things had been kind of crazy recently. And now that he had another techno organic around he felt the need to visit her more often. They had so much in common and he felt a bit like they needed to stick together.
So he’d taken a space bridge over, and was quietly whistling to himself. He wondered what exactly he was going to say when he showed up at the base itself since he’d only really met Sari and they were liable to question who he was and what he was doing there. Neither of which he wanted to deal with. But had to anyway.
So he went for sneaking his way in - as subtly as he could. “Uhhhh knock knock?” He called of - god that was nerdy, surely he could have thought of something better than that!
It was odd, but, he just couldn't help it. When he got to a new location, he had to scope it out. From his patchy memories, he'd discerned that he was a spy of some sort at one point. Which was probably why he was climbing about the scrapyard with as much silence as a giant robot could.
He paused when he heard voices. Bumblebee...and a femme. Hmm...he'd come back in a bit. He had to finish his exploration.
He started a different direction, unable to stop the Mission Impossible theme from his mind. Primus humans made good spy films. Speaking of which, there was one up ahead. Huh. Skids paused, watching him for a moment. He was getting Cybertronian readings off the kid...
As Chris stepped further into the scrapyard, he would see Skids vault off thee top of one of the stacks of junk, complete a rather impressive flip, and land a few yards away. He was surprisingly agile for what he was. As he stood upright, putting his hands on his hips, he flashed a dashing smile.
"That was one of my best yet," he said, his accent contorting his words, "Hi, there. Can I help ya?"
Marie knew she shouldn't have asked the big red guy to help her get home. He'd seemed chill enough, but, as soon as he'd started scowling at the ground bridge controls, she'd known she was sunk. All offers to just find someone else had been met with gruff assurances that he was fine.
This was not fine.
When she stepped through the ground bridge, it dropped her off smack in the middle of a...junkyard? That's what it looked like at least. Two Cybertronians were present and she immediately scanned them for their emblems. Autobots. Good. At least the old guy hadn't dropped her off with Decepticons...or like, in Antartica or something. Was she still in the US?
The portal closed behind her and she winced. Her motorcycle was absent, since she'd just planned on ground bridging home, so she stood awkwardly for a moment with nothing to occupy her hands. A too-skinny young woman with green eyes standing too-large in her pale face.
"Er...hi. I'm...lost at the moment..." she paused, "Ironhide said he knew how to work the ground bridge, but, um...yeah."
While the scrapyard slowly growing ever more crowded, a short figure was seen hard at work in the background. She was a short woman, dressed in a white lab coat and a pair of glasses that were only slightly too big for her, resting on the bridge of a freckled nose. She was hard at work carrying various assortments of plants, pots, tools and bags of fertilizer to different parts of the scrapyard, seemingly ignorant of the new arrivals.
Botanica was practicing, so to speak. Her actual form sat motionless in its vehicle mode in full view of everyone, though her newly generated holomatter avatar hardly remained in one place for long. Moving around in a new body was disorienting at first, but as she went through the motions of tending a small garden, it became more and more familiar. That being said, her new form had already dropped a few pots, clumsily.
Before she knew it the junkyard was full of slowly blooming plants and blossoming flowers sitting perched in full view of everyone. Botanica had set a few pots up in rather precarious positions, only to test her form's dexterity.
In her trance-like state, the avatar very nearly collided with the human emerging from the ground bridge in front of her. "Oh! Excuse me, dear!" She chuckled at her clumsiness, ignoring the fact that Marie had literally teleported in front of her. "I didn't see you there."
The course of the road had it's many potholes and large humps forcing many a driver aside or over. These hazards ravaged the meak and slumped them away to be unseen. Though the few that dared to traverse these roads managed a dare devil esque appetite for something new. Driven to higher suspension, deft dodges, ample speed. One green racer toiled these roads, memorizing till it was ingrained upon those treads of his. Even the wildlife that lazily wandered onto those roads had patches of fur missing as the driver dodged them and wanted to see how close he could get.
The road pettered out till it was more rocky and treacherous. This was deep within the darkened woods, obscuring any faults mere meters away. A force that changed wheels to feet that scurried about till they came to a rest at a cliff's edge. Red optics gazed at the endless tress that covered the land, no road no more.
Portals, noise, and an eerie presence that gripped at his nerves.. It all buggered the tall mechanical being that somewhat blended into the greenery and browns(dust that collected on him in various places). Just like the ruts in the road that pulled him, he started for the nuisances that commanded his attention. The trees almost spread out when he came to a more maintained road that lead towards a city. He'd been in vehicle mode all day and decided to walk along this desolate road to find any settlements to chart on his patrols.
Still it had been curious. For what reason would this hybrid's weaponry be disabled? Would that not have been a hindrance? How was one meant to fight if they did not have access to their weapons? Sure, there were ways.. but there was such a thing as being outgunned. It wouldn't do well.
The form continued to watch, curious at the excitement the femme had displayed when she had discovered the Azusa Skates. It was almost as if she was unaware she even had such power. If that was the case, was she unaware of any of her power?
Without a moment wasted, the form flipped the switch, allowing another of Sari's weapons to work.
Sari sat there on the ground for a moment, admiring the skates that had magically formed on her feet. Was this part of the whole Techno-Organic thing? Maybe she could do more than energy balls! After a few moments of sitting there idly, the teenager attempted to make the skates disappear.
Only problem was that they didn't want to.
"Okaaay..? Well, standing up can't be too hard, right?" Tucking one leg in as she made to stand up, the red head only found herself flopping forward. A look of annoyance only formed on her face as she attempted to stand up a couple more times before awkwardly crawling over to a nearby tree and using that to pull herself up to her feet. "Ugh..! How do figure skaters even do it?! Now.. how do I walk in these?" Oh wait, that's right. She could just use the jetpack!
It was only as she reached to power on the jet pack that her arms began to transform. Now in her hands were a pair of what appeared to be bladed tonfas, one perfectly stabbing right into the tree that Sari had used to pull herself up. "Really?!" Sari grunted as she tried to pull the bladed weapon and her hand from the tree but it just wouldn't budge, and her hands didn't seem to want to let go of the weapons either! It was as if they were fixed to the handles.
"Umm... guys?!" Sari knew she was close to the base, but she didn't know how well they'd be able to hear her. Without the use of her hands she couldn't use her cell phone to call the Autobots for assistance. For now she'd just have to settle for shouting while embarrassingly stuck to a tree by a single hand.
Bumblebee stiffened slightly in surprise, not expecting Sepsis to have been there as if on cue. But realizing it was only her, Bumblebee vented deeply and relaxed his stressed nerves, "Startled me for a second Sepsis, didn't realize you were right there." The former scout greeted, rubbing the back of his helm in embarrassment. "And no I'm not damaged. I was actually wondering if you could take a look at Sari when she gets here." Bumblebee explained, a puzzled expression on his face, "I was out on a mission with her a little while back and she...transformed in a sense."
How did Bumblebee even go about explaining what he saw? He knew for a fact he hadn't just seen things in the heat of the moment, especially when Sari had helped him escape that cave in caused by Swindle. "She has Cybertronian enhancements, or I think she's half Cybertronian." Okay, that probably sounded a little crazy on Bee's part. Not that the lieutenant had a chance to linger on the thought for a long.
All at once it seemed the Scrapyard came to life, the yellow and black mech turning his attention to the space bridge in wonder, raising an optic ridge as a human girl he had never seen before stepped through. And Botanica nearly colliding with her. "Wait Ironhide sent you here?" Perhaps the girl was from around Crown City he was assuming. "I'm sure we can give you a hand..." Bumblebee trailed off as a new voice spoke up, causing Bumblebee to peer over at Skids with surprise. Where had he come from?
Before Bumblebee could go about asking anything further for both new parties, Sari's shouting was what caught his attention the most. "Uhm..." Yea, there was a lot going on all at once it felt like, causing Bumblebee to have to mentally consider how to handle it. "Sepsis, Botanica, do you two mind helping her? See how we can get her to where she needs to go." Bumblebee gestured to Marie, mentally noting someone would really have to teach Ironhide how to use the ground bridges as he hustled his way towards the entrance, "Skids, just come with me since you wanted to make such a dramatic entrance." Bumblebee spoke as he passed the theoretician, figuring he could hear why he was sneaking about the scrapyard anyhow along the way.
"Where did you even come from anyway?" He inquired curiously, making his way to the outside of the base's perimeter, scanning the area until he came across the stuck techno-organic teen...with upgrades he didn't recall her having before. "Sari?"
"Well, I am really rather quiet, sir." She eked out apologetically. However, she would listen closely to Bumblebee, then gave a small smile. "Oh! Of course! I could totally look at Sari. I mean, I'm not an organic doctor but--" Oh wait. She transformed? No way. No. That couldn't be, right? What next, the little potted calla lily she'd taken to caring for turning out to be a spy bot?
"Like...like she's some techno-organic hybrid or something? Curiouser and curiouser..." She mused. It sounded crazy, but crazier still was the fact that Sepsis understood what he meant. It had been something covered in her medical studies, though not in much detail.
With everyone suddenly piling in, she froze a little for a moment. No, deep breaths. This was okay. This wasn't emergency surgery. She could handle this.
"Uh...sure...I think I can help." She knelt to Marie. "So um, hey. I'm Sepsis. Th-the medic here. Whatcha lookin' for?"
Botanica's holomatter avatar faded away as Bumblebee called out for her. The green BMW with a potted cactus sitting on its hood transformed, although Botanica was careful to catch the precious little plant as her movement sent it flying. She carefully perched it atop a stack of wrecked cars before making her way over towards the center of the scrap yard. She hadn't heard the first part of their conversation, but when the words 'not an organic doctor' were uttered, she couldn't help but interject.
"I most certainly am!" she piped up eagerly.
With haste, she floated over to Marie alongside Sepsis. Despite all the chaos, Botanica's expression mirrored her enthusiasm, happy to help in any capacity. "If it's a destination you're looking for, we can absolutely help you!"
