Player Alias: Thundercat
Character Name: Moonracer
Allegiance: Autobot (Wreckers)
Appearance Description:
Moonracer is built like the vast majority of Velocitronians. She has a sleek and aerodynamic frame, with much of her alternate form's front kibble making up her chest, parts of her arms, and the front tires coming off the upper back. her legs are made of most of her back kibble, leaving the lower parts of her legs being made up her back tires and the rest of her armor forming around them. Towards the elbows and knees are sharply pointed areas along with two long crests on either side of her head that stop at points and a larger, non-pointed crest in the middle of her head. Overall, her frame is slender, sleek, and built for speed.
But, even for a Velocitronian, Moonracer is a bit short in stature. Her color is a blue-green and silver primarily, with smaller accents of light blue among her colors and cyan blue color optics. Her Earth alternate form is that of a 2017 Lamborghini Aventador.
Personality: Moonracer is first and foremost an optimistic and bubbly type of bot. She has always been a young bot in high spirits, regardless of whether the situation looks to be out of her favor or when things are dire, usually trying to see the positive side of a situation. She is incredibly up beat, energetic, and out-going, something that could be expected of someone from Veloctrion but can easily be attributed to her also still being a young bot by Cybertronian standards.
That being said, Moonracer is also one of those all too eager to prove her mettle one way or another. Her bubbly nature, small stature, and unassuming air she gives off have often caused others to call her "cute" or laugh in amusement when she tries to boast of her skills and prowess, making others not take her seriously and discount her claims. As a result, Moonracer always strives to show she can race with the best, fight with the best, or can do things just as well as anyone else. She gets annoyed when someone continues to ignore what she says or give some hints she is not worthy of doing something.
Still, Moonracer can be rather reckless and disregards danger, often putting herself in over her head. She does not get angered often, but she does easily worry about others and tries to do what she can to help or offer to be someone a friend or loved one can speak with or vent to. In general, Moonracer just wants to do her part for others and those around her and is known to be incredibly loyal and trustworthy, despite her young nature, acting as almost a younger sister to most bots.
Strengths:
Sniper/Sharpshooter: Where Moonracer lacks in close quarters, she more than makes up for in long distance. Moonracer quickly discovered during her home planet's civil war she is a rather crack shot and exceptionally accurate in calculating distance, angles, and trajectories, largely from her racing experiences followed with an upgrade to her optics, laying claim to being the "greatest sharpshooter in the universe."
Observant/Calculating: One thing that can be noticed with Moonracer is when she actually tries or is focused, she is quite observant and pays close attention to actions or small/minute details. For the most part, she uses this skill to read people, situations, and her environment, which she then extends to calculating the best move or way to react. This has been her greatest asset on the track and in combat, and something
Specialized Optics: The only real major upgrade Moonracer has ever gotten is that to her optics. Already known for her sharp sight and quick wit, she improved upon this to make her optics capable of acting like scopes to zoom in and out to a certain degree, improving accuracy of her shots and better to track her target. Her optics have also additional features of night vision and tracking heat signatures.
Acrobatic: With a light, slender frame and short stature, Moonracer's size allows her to perform basic and complex acrobatic stunts, being more then capable of using her environment to her advantage or performing stunts akin to parkour. She uses this to coincide with her sniping to be able to shoot from different angles where most might be incapable doing such a feat.
Agile/Swift: Being a Velocitronian, Moonracer was built for being fast, both in vehicle and robot mode and has shown herself to be quite agile as well. Her frame is smooth and aerodynamic, making her more than capable of going at great speeds even by normal Cybertronian standards allowing her to be quite light on her feet and maneuverable on the track.
Fearlessness: Moonracer is as fearless as she is energetic or optimistic, leaping head first into situations and asking questions later no matter how dangerous or dire it might be, another trait that has made her more than fitting to be among the Wreckers.
Weaknesses:
Sometimes Naive: With still being young, Moonracer is not always wise or quick to notice something out of place or suspicious, not off the bat at least. Or she might not get the gist of something due some lack of experience in some situations, still having some things to learn.
Mediocre Close Quarters Combat skills: Though Moonracer has some of the basics of close quarters combat, it is not her first choice of combat. She much prefers using height and distance to her advantage, covering her teammates that prefer getting in close and personal or using hit-and-run tactics on her end.
Optic Feature limitations: Her optic upgrade function may give Moonracer an advantage but do have their down sides. For one, she can only focus her optics up to 300-400 yards away and is capable of only targeting up to two to three targets at any given time. Her night vision is calibrated for night or dark places, a sudden bright light or lights in general being flashed into them suddenly causes them pain and for to become blind for a while due to being far more sensitive during this particular mode. Her heat vision, though capable of tracking several signatures, cannot always work through area with thick walls, too much cover, or something preventing heat signatures from being detected in general.
Fearlessness: Moonracer's fearlessness may prove to be a strength, but it is also one of her worst traits. She tends to get in over her head and bite off more than she can tread, resulting in needing assistance or having to come up with an alternative plan. Her literal "shoot first, ask questions later" attitude has nearly costed her during her home planet's war and as a Wrecker.
Light Frame: Her lighter frame build makes Moonracer fast, agile, and highly maneuverable, but it also makes her susceptible to heavy damage and weak against those who are bulky or use heavy artillery.
Distance: Sometimes, distance isn't Moonracer's friend as much as she wants it to be. Just as likely as Moonracer is to hit someone from afar someone is equally likely to do the same or could prevent her from being snuck up on and attacked. When she is focusing on her sniping, she can leave herself vulnerable depending on the spot, someone serving as a distraction while someone else comes in to strike.
Abilities:
Specialized Optics: Moonracer's optics have been upgraded to act as scopes, allowing her to focus in roughly up to 400-500 yards and make her capable tracking and targeting more accurately than her normal sight. She has two additional features, night vision and heat vision. The night vision allows her to see clearly in near-total darkness as if she were viewing things clearly in the daylight, allowing her the option to be able to use her skills in darkness and getting around more easily. Her heat vision allows her to track anything that holds heat, whether a Cybertronian, alien being, or anything else, being necessary when her scopes, normal vision, or other optic features prove useless. Additionally, Moonracer can combine her additional features in conjunction with the scoping feature.
Weaponry:
Modified Nucleon Charge Rifle: Moonracer's more deadly weapon that has a quick rapid fire shot of two bullets in quick succession with short pauses in between and having its x10 scope with a reliable far enough range she uses for targets that especially far. It has been modified to fit her size with a Quantum stabilizer to eliminate some of the recoil and to be able to handle four types of ammo she has on hand: Cryo bullets, EMP bullets, armor piercing rounds, and normal ammo. This is generally attached to her back.
Photon Burst Rifle: After arriving on Cybertron, Moonracer got a hold of the first model of the Photon Burst Rifle that was smaller but still had a rapid fire capability and can reach several yards, but not to the scale of the Nucleon Charge Rifle. This weapon can fire bursts of three concentrated photon energy projectiles with a Photon Acelerator to give an additional auto-fire feature, raising the firing time to six rounds per minute, but at the cost of the weapon heating up quickly. Is also attached to her back alongside her Nucleon Charge rifle.
Standard Energon Pistol: Holstered on her left side, Moonracer has a standard military grade pistol that fires regular energy projectiles but is her preferred weapon when in low to medium range combat.
Quarter-staff: For those times when Moonracer has no option but to fight in close combat, she is skilled enough to wield a spear tipped quarter-staff. The staff is roughly as long as her and is rather basic in appearance except for being worn from several years of use. She makes use of it as a blunt weapon, generally for blocking or knocking someone back but also stabbing someone with the spear end. But, she has shown in the past to be rather good at throwing it as well, using her skills of accuracy as a markswoman to strike someone from a distance.
History: Before Moonracer was an Autobot or a Wrecker, she hailed from the famous racing colony of Velocitron, being born from the hot spot here. To no one's surprise she would up with a naturally aerodynamic form most fitting for the racing culture Velocitron had built up for years since its separation from Cybertron. But before the young femme began racing, she curiously explored her home for a little while, getting a feel for the vibe and culture of the world around her. Moonracer just watched and listened for a while, making conversation here and there to better understand Velocitron and determined three things: her people were loud, her people could be selfish, people were speed freaks.
Finally satisfied with her curiosity, it wasn't long before Moonracer found herself drawn to the center focus of their culture: racing. It took time for Moonracer to become more than a spectator, taking to watching different races at varying levels before finally getting the itch to race herself. She immediately joined the lower circuits, knowing if she wanted to make a name for herself this was the place to start. And so, she began doing just that.
Her levels of success varied for a while, mostly for the fact that Moonracer was not nearly as interested in different modifications and upgrades as her fellow racers. She wanted to win with the skills she was obtaining through practice and training rather than technology that could maybe help her win. Soon enough, Moonracer started placing higher in the rankings, usually ranging from fourth to second and finally working her way up through the circuits. What Moonracer came to be known most for was using her observation and calculating skills over upgrades and modifications to get where she was. It was through one of the higher ranking circuits that Moonracer competed against one of the future leaders of Velocitron, Override, coming to place third in this particular race but getting to meet the femme, the two striking up a gradual friendship.
When it came time for the Speedia 500, Moonracer did not qualify for this special sort of race but she was there to support her friend the whole way. But she became shocked when Override didn't just win, but tied with another of the fastest racers by the name of Ransack. Like many, Moonracer did not trust the mech and did not particularly like the way he tried to lead their people, which she made it clearly known each time she saw him or was with Override when he was around. To no surprise, Moonracer gladly took Override's side when civil war broke out to who should be the sole leader of Velocitron.
During these rough times, Moonracer found her calling as a sharpshooter, quickly picking up on this skill after giving a few test runs with weaponry. So, throughout the skirmish, she became one of the top sharpshooters on Override's side of the conflict, becoming well-known for her accuracy and quick hand even as the Autobots arrived. Grateful for their support, Moonracer was more than willing to work alongside their allies, but as things began to turn in favor of their side, Moonracer was often there for talks of opening trading between Cybertron and Velocitron and watching as the space bridge was repaired. Thus, when it came time to split ways Moonracer was one of the first to jump at the opportunity to serve as an ambassador to Cybertron and represent her home planet after Override was established as the sole leader.
Bidding farewell to those she had known all her life and given the blessing to serve in Velocitron's and her friend's name, she was soon leaving to Cybertron shortly after the Autobots left. Moonracer would continue to make frequent back and forth trips among their allies and her home planet, but these visits dwindled over time as Moonracer herself became more involved in the war with the Autobots and Decepticons, overtime catching the attention of the Wreckers for her skill and reputation. Eventually, she was brought into their fold and stopped going back to Velocitron for the longest time when she was drawn into several rough and dangerous missions with her new team and allies, becoming one of the younger members of the Wreckers, acting as an almost little sister figure among their numbers.
Due to this, Moonracer has been on and off teaming up with the old group or going it solo, earning a few scars along the way but never giving up her energetic, optimistic nature. It is only recently that the young racer has made her way to Earth after receiving a number of transmissions hailing Autobots to gather at this point.
