Player Alias: Thundercat
Character Name: Silentsky
Allegiance: Decepticons
Appearance Description:
Silent Sky is a Seeker femme with a sleek and slender build. Her form is built like a typical femme with a slight bust and smaller top proportion to most mechs and femmes with slightly broader shoulders and lean, slender waist, arms, and legs. She has three sets of wings, two of which are decently long in length and slightly wide in width facing upward while the last pair face downward and are slightly smaller in both length and width. Her abdomen is made to allow for flexibility like most Cybertronians with a visible cockpit on her form, slightly spiked shoulders, and some visible vents on her form. Her head is a simple oval with a crescent moon-shaped crest above the bridge of her nose, three spikes that follow along the sides of her head before going up at a point, and most of her face covered by a visor and face guard.
She stands roughly at 15 feet high with her colors being a shade of violet and a darker purple with bits of red and black and her arms, thighs, mdi-section, and face are a light gray. She visibly only has three fingers which come out to a point. Silent Sky also retains her Cybertronian jet form, seeing no reason to change her form to that of an Earth disguise.
Personality:
Silent Sky is a young femme who is more of the silent-type and one of few words. She has never been ne to be social and much prefers to only talk when she is addressed, though this often is a short phrase or a quick one-worded response. But she is not above showing non-verbal body language as she expresses her feelings often through her wings, slight gestures of the head or hands, and so forth, though her silence is still seen as unnerving. She generally seems to shrug off dire situations and shows no concern for perhaps gory and death. Most could probably even call her no better than a drone for her seemingly emotionless, uncaring demeanor.
In reality, there is more to Silent Sky then the surface shows. She does have emotions but she isn’t the best at outright expressing them in words. She is quite shy and not a people person, preferring to go unnoticed in the back of the room then be in large crowds. Normally she finds herself unable to start a conversation and it takes some poking and prodding before she shows signs of opening up. Thus, she tends to just listen and observe, liking just to hear the gossip and conversation rather than take part in it. Still, Silent Sky is a lone wolf that has problems being in a social setting since she is use to going many days without talking or being social in the least.
But Silent Sky can be said to be a rather focused, dedicated young Seeker who knows that being anything less in the Decepticons would spell death. Though she does not particularly care for the cause as a whole other than reviving their home planet, she is with them generally out of survival and having been with them for so long by now. So as a part of their ranks she follows orders generally without question and will not openly argue like certain others, preferring to silently and inwardly do so if she doesn’t agree with something. She is also quite respectful to her higher ups regardless of who they are, although the levels of that respect vary depending on the higher up but she still shows it regardless. And when Silent Sky does truly speak she seems to hold an air of calmness and a level head, seeming confident in her skills and actions with a hypnotic whisper to her voice.
Last of all, Silent Sky has come to adopt some of the common Decepticon traits, being ruthless, crude, and having a dark sense of humor. She doesn’t mind causing pain but isn’t something she enjoys and she usually without a second agenda unlike most of the Decepticons. She can also be merciful from time to time if she feels generous but has a sense of honor enough to ensure her opponent can fight rather than being defenseless. Other times she is unyielding in her focus and relentless in her actions, willing to risk life and limb with a steeled mind but with an occasional conscience. Though there is a part of Silent Sky who secretly likes making her enemies suffer, mostly the Autobots who she blames for the loss of someone exceptionally close to her back in the day.
Strengths:
Speed/Agile: Silent Sky is a bit on the sleeker, smaller, lighter side of the aerial frame. She was built with speed in mind and is quite quick on her feet or in her jet form, being able to fly at Mach 2 at her maximum speeds. She is also quite agile, being able to perform complex acrobatic, aerial maneuvers in the air of which she combines with her speed to overwhelm an opponent or to get in and out of places quickly.
Close Quarters Combat: Silent Sky has been trained before and during her time in the war to fight in close quarters, making use of Cybertronian Martial Arts mixed with hand-to-hand combat of which has become her specialty and where she feels the most comfortable.
Melee Specialist: To compliment her close quarters fighting style Silent Sky has also come to train in the use of melee weapons, being quite versatile in their use. She knows how to use swords, daggers, maces, staffs, spears, and most smaller hand-held weapons. But she tends to favor bladed weapons, staffs, and spears as her weapons of choice.
Stealth: Silent Sky has been equipped with a cloaking ability and sound dampeners in which she uses to get into places almost relatively unnoticed and sneak up on others to catch them off guard. This makes her nearly totally silent, soundless, and invisible to the naked optic with even her transforming sequence is rather quiet. Although even without these, she can still move carefully and quietly enough to not be noticed and avoid detection.
Flight: As a Seeker, Silent Sky has the advantage of flight which enables her to get some leverage on ground-based vehicle Cybertronians and to put some distance between her and opponents. The sensitive flight sensors she also has allows her to make use of in combat, detecting changes and disturbances within the air and helping her to change and alter her flight patterns if need be.
Intelligent/Cunning: Despite her silent-type persona, SilentSky is quite cunning and quick minded, usually be able to think on her feet and makes use of observation of a situation and an opponent to come up with a plan usually on the spot.
Weaknesses:
Light Armor: Because she has come to favor her speed and agility, Silent Sky retains a light weight armor that doesn’t do so well with heavy hitters or heavy artillery. In fact, it can take minimal to moderate damage and can become dented or damaged easily over time. So her endurance isn’t exactly impressive nor is her strength, being relatively average and making her rely on cunning, speed, and agility to get an upper hand.
Being Up Close: As a melee specialist and close quarters combatant Silent Sky does face some dangers if she isn’t careful. For one, distance attacks can become her worse enemy with tending to leave herself open as a target when she goes to get in close and sometimes it’s not always going to be speed that gets her in close. There are also those who are equally just as capable to match her movements or those who are stronger and more durable that could become a problem.
Not Always Stealthy: Silent Sky’s use of a cloaking field and sound dampeners doesn’t exactly always work to her advantage. Her cloaking fields can give her away by the right disruption of light, causing a slight shimmer to appear from the field that someone can take advantage of. And her sound dampeners are only to dampen the sounds of her engines and transforming sequence but not so much as movement from say her steps or joints moving. And she isn’t exactly invisible to sensors if someone is looking for signatures. She also cannot stop the occasional small sounds she could make when trying to sneak around such as the click of her metal feet or scrapping of joints.
Lone Wolf Type: Silent Sky is the type who tends to prefer working alone rather than with others or as a team. This leaves her vulnerable to large numbers and can get her into some sticky situations that may require a little helping hand.
Flight: Despite the advantage it brings, Silent Sky can lose the use of her flight if her thrusters or wings become damaged, causing her to lose altitude and equilibrium. And such a lose could render her temporarily stunned as the flight sensors are extremely sensitive. Although, some stimuli could also prove distracting or harmful as well to the point of preventing Silent Sky from properly remaining in the air.
Mercy: Unlike most Decepticons, Silent Sky can be merciful and has some sense of honor to want to fight her opponent on some equal footing. If she sees fit she will allow her opponent to leave or get repaired or downright back off if someone isn't in fighting shape. This can leave her open to harm or come back and bite her in the aft since if she lets someone go she feels some need to become indebted to them in return no matter if they are Bot or Con.
Abilities:
Flight (Robot Mode): Silent Sky is a Seeker, so she is not only capable flying in her vehicle mode but robot mode as well using the thrusters on her pedes and smaller set of which shifts out from between her wings on her back to help in hovering and maneuvering. Her flight sensors can also be of use, making her frame sensitive to certain stimuli such as from the air pressures and directions which is most especially found in her wings. They are of great use to detect changes in the environment and help in combat and flight patterns.
Cloaking Field: Within her systems, Silent Sky makes use of technology that renders her nearly invisible thanks to the cloaking field. It does so by refracting certain light spectrums or scattering the light so she can become unseen by the naked optic except for the slightest shimmer from a disruption in the light spectrum showing that a little interference can go a long way.
Sound Dampeners: Silent Sky’s systems were built with material and technology that makes her engines and the sounds of her transforming totally silent.
Long Range Scanner: Silent Sky is also equipped with a long-range scanner that can detect and lock-onto signatures within a 20-mile radius that will pop up on a screen in her visor or show in her alternate form’s cockpit.
Weaponry:
Three-in-One Spear Staff: Located on her back, Silent Sky makes use of a unique weapon that has three types of weapons in one and is the weapon once used by her late mentor:
+The first weapon is the spear staff itself, which is eight-feet long with a foot long narrow-to-a-point spear with four serrated sides that can be used as a throwing and melee weapon.
+The second feature is something akin to a trident, with three thermo-energon bladed prongs projecting at the base where the spear and staff meet that take up a point around the circular base and are pointed inwards at a sharp angle but slightly shorter than the spear itself. This is done by pressing a button in the middle of the staff to activate the energy cells lining the inside of the edges of the staff.
+Lastly, by pressing a secondary button below the first Silent Sky’s staff shrinks to about a 2-foot long handle with the spear remaining on one side and the flat end projects heated energy in the shape of a scimitar blade.
Photon Blasters: When Silent Sky needs to make use of distance fighting her go-to weapon are double barreled blasters that pop up from her arms that fire concentrated light energy rounds.
History:
Silent sky came online sometime during the waning days of the Caste System on Cybertron, being cold constructed and made on a request for an undercover unit in the Cybertronian Police. With an aerial model on the team it was hoped that Silent Sky could cover places the rest of her ground-based unit couldn’t and of which she served much of her time scanning things from the air. But when not out in the field she came under the tutelage of one of the veteran members who became something of a father figure and helped her learn melee and close quarters combat. This seemingly mundane, continuous routine seemed easy to follow and was one of the few times in her life that Silent Sky was content and even showed a more sociable side until things started heating up on Cybertron.
Before Silent Sky and her unit knew what was happening the planet started to fall into a state of conflict, Silent Sky watching with her comrades from the city of Iacon as the Decepticons and Autobots began to make this more than just about overthrowing a system. Though they tried to stay neutral and help keep civilians not involved in the war safe the stress and tension was beginning to overflow into the city and they could one day do little to stop it. Like many they were forced to hide or out of desperation join the fight themselves of which Silent Sky wasn’t entirely sure what to do as even her mentor showed signs of uncertainty. But this didn’t last as the two were startled by a downed and injured Decepticon who her mentor approached to check on…which sealed their fate before Silent Sky’s very optics.
Her mentor, who at the time was mistaken for another Decepticon helping their fallen comrade, was put in the crosshairs of a nearby Autobot who fired a single shot to the head. In utter shock and rage, Silent Sky grabbed her mentor’s weapon at their side and brutally attacked and killed the Autobot. Making her choice in the war, Silent Sky went on to serve the Decepticons as an aerial warrior and Reconnaissance agent throughout the long conflict. All the while she made good use of her mentor’s unique weapon to help her in close quarters and generally survived the planet-wide war to the point of the Exodus. Unlike some though, she preferred to remain on Cybertron for a bit longer to fight against the remaining Autobots that still served as a resistance.
After sometime however, Silent Sky left Cybertron as the fighting there dwindled considerably and she began traveling from place to place across the galaxy, occasionally helping a group of Decepticons, taking down a stray Autobot, or meeting that friendly or hostile alien life. The journey was long and silent Sky got a few more scars for her troubles but she never stopped traveling until she detected something that drew her to a green and blue planet: several Decepticon and Autobot signatures popping up here and there. It surprised her and caught her curiosity enough she has quite recently come to investigate the signals, making planet fall just a few days ago, seeming unaware of another real danger lurking on the horizon.
Roleplay/Writing Sample:
Storms, they were a pain in the aft to deal with for everyone but maybe none more so than fliers. They messed with your flight patterns, made it difficult to navigate properly, and could be outright cringing when lightning was involved. Metal and lightning didn’t mix and most wouldn’t dare to make the challenge of flying in it if they valued staying airborne. Then again, not everyone dealt with a storm rolling in quite suddenly when the day had seemed to only carry signs of it.
That’s where Silent Sky had currently found herself in. She had been doing a routine patrol over a section of the United States looking out for Autobots, maybe even a neutral lurking about to make note of. Or just to spy on the humans out of boredom. The day had started out all right, perhaps a tad windy and sometimes she had to correct her flight path but nothing she couldn’t normally handle. It was quiet except for the occasional organic bird that popped up between the puffy gray clouds. Her sensors directed the faintest charge on the clouds as she flew by but she figured it might be a while before the storm would strike and she would be able to return to the Nemesis without incident. There were no enemies, no humans hogging the sky, nothing of note.
Of course, she had thought too soon. Half way towards her destination the first booming sound of thunder startled her followed by a flash of lightning that was but feet away. It made her sensors tingle uncomfortably and brought a shudder to her form that would have been visible if someone had been with her. And now she was battling against a full-blown rain storm with lightning flashing across the sky, heavy rainfall pelting her armor, and the wind becoming hell of a gust to battle against even with her speed.
Her only saving grace right now was her long-range scanner, which she kept on to find any hints of Decepticon signals. But it wasn’t for another few miles before she detected the warship, at the moment hovering over one of the energon mines the Decepticons had control over sending a flood of relief washing over her Spark. With a kick to her afterburners, Silent Sky pushed herself to get through the storm and stay on course the best she could until she was coming to the top of the Nemesis where fliers could leave and land when necessary.
While getting there was one thing, landing would be another on the slick metal surface. Slowing down enough to transform mid-flight, Silent Sky carefully made her way down to the landing strip but grunted as a sudden strong gust of wind caught her flared wings, sending her flipping in the air when she was just above the strip and causing her lose some sense of where to put her feet. Though she managed to find her grounding it wasn’t the most graceful landing, finding herself stumble further as her pedes couldn’t find solid footing for a few moments. After another minute though she was able to get herself upright, venting slightly with relief as she made her way to the open entrance leading inside and flicking her wings while trying to wipe away some of the water.
The water in her systems and on her frame felt uncomfortable and made it a pain as it was to walk. Right now, she was looking forward to getting dry, having a cube of energon, and just seeing what else she could help with that didn’t involve going back out in the storm.
Additional Note: Was convinced to bring this girl back, give her another try. I'm currently putting Bumblebee on hold, leave him WIP until I can get his history sorted out.
