Player Alias: Vampyricon
Character Name: Elytra
Allegiance: Decepticons (Insecticons)
Appearance Description:
Elytra is a small female Insecticon, around Arcee's size, who has a deliberately unthreatening design. She is mainly a metallic blue-green, with the pale white of a beetle larva as her secondary color. Her glowy parts are orange. Her beetle mode's shell (elytra) forms her upper arms, with its bright orange rim glowing. Its thorax is separated into her chest and forearms. The beetle's legs are attached to her forearms, which can be extended past her hands and act as medical tools. Her robot mode's abdomen also has glowing lines running down it, and her beetle mode's wings form a transparent miniskirt around her upper legs. Her head has a visor for her optics and a mask that she always keeps on, much like Animus, with two antennae from her beetle mode coming out of her helm.
On the occasions that her mask is retracted, her split jaw is revealed, with a fanged proboscis extending from within.
As an Insecticon, Elytra has an insectoid alternate mode. She takes the form of a beetle in the genus Epomis, which is a ground beetle.
Personality:
Elytra is a cheerful Insecticon who wouldn't harm a soul. She doesn't like fighting and gets hurt on the battlefield. Thankfully, those nice Autobots will always come to the aid of a helpless medic like little Elytra.
At least, that's what she wants you to think. Her childlike demeanor is a façade to hide her less pleasant side. Her apparent vulnerability is also another way to lure her victims in. Autobots will often leave encounters with her unable to move their limbs, with a few organs and a few liters of energon missing.
She is quite nice towards her fellow Decepticons though, and will go to great lengths to fix them up. If you ask nicely, she might even give you a few upgrades.
Strengths + Weaknesses:
+ Agility: Being a small Cybertronian means Elytra is quicker and more agile than others of her kind.
+ Surgeon: Elytra is a surgeon. She knows exactly what makes you tick, and how to make you untick.
- Bloodthirst: Elytra's experience of being a vampiric Terrorcon, though brief, has left a lasting influence on her mind and chassis, and she could only get her energon directly from live Cybertronians.
- Suspicious: Having been mind-controlled, she is untrusting and hostile to those who she thinks are trying to change her mind.
Abilities:
1. It's Doctor Elytra to you: Elytra is an experienced neurosurgeon who has operated on many patients, and has a vast knowledge of Cybertronian anatomy.
2. Role-reversal: Having experienced mind control by Airachnid, she added mental blocks to herself so she will no longer be vulnerable to mind control and other mental invasions. Further upgrades allow her to reverse whatever mental invasion is taking place, reading the minds of telepaths and controlling mind-controllers.
3. Amphibicon immunity: Taking after her alt-mode, Elytra loves preying on Amphibicons. She has an immunity to Amphibicons' acidic skin, otherwise she wouldn't be a good predator, would she?
Weaponry:
Medical tools: Her insect mode legs can turn into various medical tools such as scalpels and drills.
History:
Elytra was just another Decepticon medic, helping out and saving her fellow soldiers. But in a war, one does not always get the supplies needed, so one day, when she didn't have the organs needed for an organ transplant, she decided she would get it herself. Since then many more Autobots were lured to their doom by Elytra, fooled by her pretending to be injured.
Elytra's story took an unfortunate turn when Airachnid landed on Luna-2 with her army of vampiric Terror-Insecticons. The Arachnicon, having mind control over Insecticons, summoned Elytra along with other Insecticons on Cybertron to her and drained her, turning her into a vampiric Terrorcon much like Airachnid herself. Being one of the later infectees, Airachnid's Dark Synth-En mixture lost its virulence in Elytra, and Elytra is unable to infect others even while feeding. Eventually all Insecticons were drained and infected, but without any more energon to feed on, Airachnid lost her mental grip on the Insecticons. Elytra escaped Luna-2 as soon as she regained control of herself.
Unfortunately, Elytra landed in an area with many Amphibicons, a subspecies that hated Insecticons at best, and even hunted them, at worst. Having to feed from Amphibicons led her to develop an immunity to their acid skin. She eventually arrived at her old lab and operated on her own mind, constructing defences to prevent herself from ever being mind-controlled again. However, she could not find a cure for her vampirism caused by Dark Synth-En, leaving her only able to feed from live Cybertronians.
Fearing that her mental defences may not be enough, Elytra snuck through a spacebridge and arrived on Earth, far away from the mental influence of Airachnid. She worked on her mind some more, making sure she is impervious to mental influences, and even reversing whatever mental effects she will be under. She designed this system with Airachnid in mind, knowing that one day, they will meet again.
