He came online with a sharp start to his systems, taking only a moment to realize he was in his quarters aboard the Ark. Optimus sat up and considered his surroundings before rising. His last conscious memory was being aboard the command bridge as he led his Autobots through the Space Bridge. And then he returns online in his quarters; as though he'd been recharging. Had he collapsed on duty? It certainly wouldn't be the first time that had happened, as he pushed himself too hard at times and had been stressed for a long time before they'd completed the move onto the Ark and left Cybertron. But then, wouldn't Ratchet have brought him back in the medbay? Wouldn't he have several missed messages from his officers demanding to know where he was and why he wasn't answering their calls? There was no reason for him to be in his quarters.
The Autobot leader chose to exit his quarters then, moving slowly and taking in his surroundings as he went. He noted those he passed, some unfamiliar to him and others he was certain had been destroyed, making things all the more confusing. And he didn't feel the vibration of the ship's massive engines below his pedes either, which begged the question of why they weren't in red alert over the ship losing propulsion. Outwardly he maintained his composure, but internally he was steadily becoming alarmed. Things were not the way they should be. He even had to stop as he found himself outside the ship suddenly, his pedes having taken him there without his conscious effort.
Just how long had he been offline? The ship had obviously crashed, but since there were no mechs rushing about, no injured being carted in and no Red Alert blasting the comms with his panicked demands that someone make it better, he had to assume this was a long standing situation. Large hands clenched at his sides for a moment before he briskly went back inside and made his way to the command bridge. Someone would know what was going on. He needed answers, but he didn't need to give his crew the impression that he was in any way unsettled by the happenings around him. They were obviously used to it, and no one seemed surprised to see him.
He had to stop finally, and chose to open a personal comm one right after the other, to his command crew. Prowl flat out didn't answer him. Jazz's was cut off, as though the other was deactivated. With his two seconds unavailable he contemplated his next move then issued the comm to his CMO. "Ratchet?" If he went three for three on someone answering him he was going to be very displeased. He wanted to know what was going on.
There were many things that Ratchet hadn't expected today. Optimus not knowing where he was.. was one of those things.
He had been in the Medical Bay when he received the personal comm, confused as heck as to why Optimus had not just come into the room to talk to him. It wasn't like the Autobot base was very big. ::Just a moment, Optimus.:: With a sigh, Ratchet stepped out of the Medical Bay and looked for Optimus himself. It didn't take him long to find the Prime, especially given that he was much taller than the others.
"Is everything alright, Optimus? Why didn't you just come into the Medical Bay to get me?" He shook his helm, getting the thought out of his helm. "Never mind. Was there something that you wanted to show me? I can take a look at whatever it is."
The anti ground gal was minding her business. Nearly bored to tears when no new explosions were not happening... because of her. So this left her to wander the halls of the outpost aimlessly. Up till she came upon some odd noises.
Odd even for a base filled with squishy organics and Cybertronians alike. She started to follow these noises until she discovered it was none other than Optimus Prime himself! Just what was he doing? Her respirator kicked up to keep her breathing under control. Yet to her hidden eyes, he seemed lost.
Perhaps she should ask and see if he was alright? She started her approach and soon found him calling for Ratchet who was nearby. Which resulted in his immediate presence. Two old war buddies standing there and she was naut but a stranger to them aside from her Autobot sigil on her shoulder. Should she intervene or look incredibly awkward standing there and gawking at two legends!

Relief raced through him at the familiar voice of his medic. If Ratchet was answering than things couldn't be too bad off. Perhaps Jazz and Prowl were in recharge, where a summons wouldn't reach them until they came back online. He'd overreacted on that account, but he was still in need of answers. Starting with the first. His medic seemed concerned when he approached, and asked why he hadn't just gone to the bay to talk to him. Which he should have done, but it seemed he wasn't able to navigate the Ark for some reason.
"I seem to be experiencing a bit of a processor glitch. My last conscious recollection places me on the command deck before onlining in my quarters a few minutes ago." He kept his tone light. Ratchet was his friend, he'd know what was going on and would likely tell him in brutally honest terms what he wanted to know. But since his medic also didn't seem displeased with him beyond the norm he had to question if he had been medically removed from duty after all. "Did I collapse on duty again?"
He did startle when he noticed another had approached them, and felt himself go to a more defensive position before noticing that the newcomer bore the Autobot sigil and relaxed slowly. He then did a swift assessment of the new 'bot and noted that they were both a flier and a femme. Not a normal sight for the Ark.

Rotor had not gone unnoticed by Ratchet. He saw the femme, but hadn't engaged her just yet. Optimus needed him for something, and he wanted to get that taken care of as quickly as possible. He was his Amica Endura after all.. right?
However, Optimus' words completely caught Ratchet off guard. He raised an optic ridge, confusion completely written on his faceplates. "..Come again?" The command deck? What command deck? "Optimus, we don't have a command deck. Do you mean the main room of the base? Or the roof?" Just what the heck was he talking about? Maybe he just wasn't fully out of recharge yet and was in the middle of, what humans would say, 'sleep walking'. "You most certainly haven't collapsed on duty. Not that I've noticed, anyway.. and I would have noticed."
Without warning, the CMO reached for Optimus' arm and began to tug him in the general direction of the Medical Bay. "Tell me more about the last thing you remember. The command deck as you were saying."
Rotor watched as Optimus greeted and chatted with Ratchet, wanting to know what had happened. Had he offlined during duty? She had heard of rumors of such things with a tirelessly working bot such as him! Maybe he is waking up and slowly booting up? She could only hope he was booting up slowly.
She did lift her helmet upwards when Optimus gazed upon her and took a defensive stance. Was there danger? She quickly turned to gaze behind her, making her hip skirt of helicopter blades jingle about before resetting back to their original position. Once the ghost was clear she turned back to Optimus, "Is everything alright sir?"
Command deck? Well one can assume the command bay to be a deck of sorts, for the humans? Maybe he heard that term from them. Soon she notices Ratchet tugging and leading, "H-hey! Is there anything I can help with? It seems like... you are trying to figure something out."
He shook his head, confusion now making itself known in his look to Ratchet. "No the command deck." Ratchet was the one that was confusing him now. Surely the other remembered there was a command deck aboard the Ark? "I tried to go there but ended up outside." He ventured, only then registering that the femme flier was addressing him. He didn't know her, but knew he had to assure her that all was well.
He even managed a slight smile. "Everything is fine, just running a little slow today it seems." He kept his tone measured and soothing, not wanting to worry her or anyone else. He had to remain strong, even though he knew he could trust Ratchet. The femme was completely unknown to him.
So he hadn't collapsed on duty. That was reassuring. But he was being addressed on both sides now, and allowed himself to be led by the arm by his medical officer. It would hardly be the first time he'd allowed the other to do so. It was easier to give in when Ratchet wanted you to go somewhere than face down his wrath. If both Ratchet and the femme were going, he had to explain further. "I was on duty, we'd just taken the Ark through a space bridge. Then I return online suddenly and I'm in my quarters."
He vented loudly. "And how long was I out exactly?"

Jetfire had been present in the medbay already, alone with his medical file. A lot had changed about Cybertronian medical procedures since he'd returned to the fold, much of which he hadn't accounted for in his research notes. Most of it wasn't critical to the success of his combination experiments, but in the event that something went horribly wrong, he'd need to know what kind of steps would be taken to ensure the well being of both parties.
An Altihexi Bypass, emergency polarity treatment, synthetic energon? Jetfire was starting to think he'd need to head back to Polyhex for a few crash courses on recent medical breakthroughs just to keep some semblance of credibility on his doctorate. That, or just ask Ratchet about it. It'd be nice not just to talk about his current experiments, but to just nerd out about what he'd studied on Cybertron; it'd be just like old times again.
And speak of the devil's practitioner, and he shall appear. The seeker tilted his head up from the dizzying article on quantum biomechanics to notice the bot he'd needed to see. "Ratchet! Good to see you, old friend." he greeted, completely unaware of the conundrum that was following in his wake.
The phrase alone was enough to start making some sense out of what was happening. Optimus was definitely confused or something, and he believed that he was on the Arc. Either he really was sleepwalking, or something had happened that had gone unnoticed by Ratchet.
If it was the latter, he was going to be extremely unhappy.
He turned to look back as Rotor followed after them, wanting to help out. Optimus said that everything was fine, but maybe an extra pair of servos wouldn't be a bad thing. "Help me get Optimus to the Medical Bay. I need to run an examination on him just to be sure of what's going on. It may be nothing serious, but I would rather make sure it isn't something that we need to be concerned about."
He continued to walk down the hall with Optimus, doing his best to answer his questions. "I, uh.. I suppose you've been out for awhile. I can't say for sure." To him it had only been several Earth hours, but for Optimus it almost seemed like it'd been years! The last time he'd thought about the Arc, they'd been at the original base back at Mount St. Hillary. Primus it'd been too long.
As they finally reached the Medical Bay, that's when they encountered Jetfire. While happy to see his old student, he just wanted to get their leader and his friend to a berth and run every last test he could think of on him. "It's good to see you too, Jetfire. Optimus, you remember him right? And Rotor?"
She saw that reassuring smile of his and slowly relaxed. Maybe it was him just waking up and still waking up? She slouched her shoulders with a gentle nod of the helm to the tall and robust mech before her.
She soon accompanies the side of Optimus as she began to feel more free next to him. He had an aura that said he will watch over her. Peculiar... Yet when he said something about the Ark, she gazed up to him. His reflection in her visor.
Wait, the Ark from back in the day? Spacebridges? Sure she hadn't been on the Ark but another vessel as they fled. So she couldn't have known what had truly happened. She looked to Ratchet for answers before hearing an order from the medic. To which she obliged him in hopes of learning more.
She stuck close to the Prime's side before entering the med bay, to which she gave a gentle wave to Jetfire who took up a considerable amount of room within. Hard not to notice. "I feel something may be awry if the Ark is discussed... Is he still dreaming?"
He wasn't sure why this 'Rotor' was allowed to follow them. It really wasn't her business what was going on with a commanding officer, and he didn't particluarly want her there. However, he was much to polite to say something, and Ratchet had already overriden him by offering to allow her to assist. He had nothing against her on a personal level, but he didn't know her and didn't trust her not to spread word of this incident onto the entire base. That was the last thing he needed, everyone fretting over him.
Optimus refreshed his optics then, looking around again in earnest finally. "Where am I exactly?" He asked of Ratchet, noting that he was most certainly not aboard the Ark. They'd gone into the medbay, but it was much different than he remembered. Something was really wrong here. And he was missing a significant amount of time if he went by the phrase 'awhile' coming out of his medic. His processors really must be malfunctioning then. Ratchet would see him back to rights. He believed this unfailingly of the other mech.
Entering the bay completely in Ratchet's wake the Autobot leader noted another familiar face. Finally. "Of course I remember him. Jetfire had been part of this crew a long time." The femme he tipped his head at, looking her over again when she was mentioned to him.
"I apologize, but I don't know who you are. At last check the femmes had all chosen to go into hiding with Elita to escape the war." And Megatron's destructive path concerning their frame type.

Jetfire closed down the files he'd been perusing for the moment. He'd also been meaning to discuss the possibility of having Optimus act as the second party for his experiments, pending his approval of course. He grinned back as Prime regarded him but... there was something off about it. It wasn't a greeting, more along the lines of a reassurance. Optimus was reminding himself who Jetfire was? That couldn't have been correct; Optimus was one of the first faces he'd seen after being rescued from Nebulos, which wasn't that long ago to begin with. His words to the femme trailing beside him, and the fact that he thought femmes were still a scarcity revealed more.
"Yes, many did follow her to escape Cybertron, but that was eons ago. The disparity between mechs and femmes has been shrinking actually..." he answered, before turning to Ratchet.
Something was definitely wrong.. Optimus should definitely have woken up entirely by now if he were simply sleepwalking..
For now, all Ratchet could do was guide him with assistance to the Medical Bay and hope that they could get some sort of answers. His best friend thought that they were still on the Ark for some reason, and almost seemed to have no clear memory of the now. But what could have caused it if it were a case of memory loss?!
"You're at the Autobot base, Optimus. It's located on a planet known as Earth far, far from Cybertron. I'm not certain as to what's going on, at least not yet, but we'll find answers for this. We did in fact leave Cybertron, however.. the Ark crashed on the Earth. This isn't the first base we've had, but have since moved from the original base as the Decepticons found us. Right now, our base is located in place on Earth known as Jasper, Nevada. Think of it like the city states back on Cybertron."
He let Jetfire take over for the talk on femmes. It'd been quite some time since most of them, but now they were beginning to re-emerge on Earth. Caminus was a name thrown around quite often. Had that been where most femmes had fled to?
Ratchet turned to both Rotor and Jetfire, but also would glance to Optimus as he spoke. "I have a theory, but it's a stretch without testing. I believe that somehow, your memories before reaching Earth might have been erased, if not locked deep within Optimus' processor. We'll need more evidence to be certain, but.." He sighed to himself. "If they are gone.. this poses a much larger problem."
They were all a small unit now, so she could argue that that the health of the commander was just as important as all else! Can't have a functioning unit without a leader who's head isn't on tight. Still she could sense some form of discomfort from the larger mech, probably due to him not knowing her. True, many many Autobots walked beside him...
She strode beside him just as Ratchet relayed their new location to the larger mech. He was a curious case, being so big and her having to scuttle along. Yet his comment about all femmes choosing to flee got to her.
A quick breath through her respirator and soon she was calmed down, then listened to Jetfire speak. She elevated her voice but it cracked right away in nervousness, "Sir I am one of the highly regard air support units for the ground forces. I chose to stay behind and stand shoulder by shoulder with my brethren so that those that do not want to... war, may escape." With that said she clumps a fist onto her chest with heels pressed together or as close as they could with her bulky leg armor. "Some call me a Vanguard, or Angel of Death. For me? I am just an Autobot looking to help another of my kind, I am Rotor." Now a deep intake from her respirator was heard before she looks to Ratchet as he spoke.
When his theory was concluded, Rotor dropped the hand that rested on her chest and she took a step back. What if this memory glitch had happened to everyone and she could only remember some parts of the war. What if she had done terrible things? Her respirator began to speed up for her mask.
