Perceptor considered Jetfire's words. "The probability of an external agent's interference with my memory is quite low," he said. "Apart from the obvious extra memories which are standing out in my mind, the effort required to synthesize entirely new memories consistent with what I remember is too great for any practical purpose, at least according to my preliminary evaluation. However, I will participate, although I have not been at the relic swap event."
But Perceptor could not see the logic in quarantining themselves in the medical bay. "Ratchet, I fail to see the rationale behind the quarantine. If this is truly a virus that has been incubated for several million years, it would have been transmitted to the entire Autobot faction. As for two separate viruses, or one viral infection, which I doubt, it may be a possible counter towards it, but that leaves us with another mystery."

Jetfire listened along as Ratchet and Perceptor both gave their analysis of Optimus's situation, and quite possibly their shared condition. He had a better idea of how to test both theories after listening to Perceptor, who he was starting to lean towards, though the possibility of a viral agent couldn't be ruled out entirely. Looking back towards Prime, Jetfire's idea finally hatched. "Optimus," he started, "You remember that Alpha Trion moved Teletraan-1 aboard the Ark for safe keeping before we launched, right?"
"I figure Teletraan is our best shot for showing any discrepancies between our accounts of history. But in the event that this is a virus, the disparity between the complexity of our systems and Teletraan-1's systems should prevent it from being 'infected'."

Too many questions, too many possibilities..
There were too many things factoring into this to easily pinpoint where and when Optimus would have contracted a virus to have caused this, and even then that would have brought in even more questions. If he had been struck with a virus was it viral? Were they all infected? When did he get it? How? What could be used to reverse symptoms? What could be used as a cure?
If it wasn't a virus, it would have been a miracle.
Ratchet turned to Perceptor, listening to his hypothesis on the matter. "True, however Optimus was among those who went to rescue Rotor and the others. It is possible he could have contracted this potential virus then or even later. There's no way for us to determine it's true age. Honestly, I think I'll be happy just to rule out a virus entirely. Although.. that does remind me. Rotor, when the Autobots rescued you, did anything specific happen to Optimus? I was otherwise.. occupied at the time." That had roughly been the time he had been kidnapped.
His attention was turned to Jetfire as he asked Optimus about Teletraan-1. "That's.. a good idea, Jetfire. I don't know why I didn't think of that honestly. Let's continue testing for viruses first, and then we can give Teletraan-1 a try.. just to be safe." He smiled, continuing his search to eliminate a dangerous virus from the possibilities of what was happening to his best friend.

So one bot was not at the relic swap, Perceptor, perceptive... At least he wasn't the one needed their memories jogged. She does peer at Optimus who was and tried to recall the events. Curses, she wished she had Soundwave's electronics to bring forth videos for more accurate accounts. She even lifted a hand while her processor scrambled it's collective memories pertaining to that event.
"I remember him... Spark Extractor and Apex Armor, both in timed capsules. Maybe to keep them from turning it upon us once they get their claws on it... Steeljaw was there too." She recalls those events, "Optimus was on the intercom system for the deal."
Now she peers at Jetfire, wondering what a Teletraan-1 was. Was it a power source, weapon? Maybe schematics! She grew curious as to what that was and may have to inquire about it later, but not now... Or hope Optimus would reveal what that object was! She turned back to Ratchet with her visor shifting to what seems like lifted brows, "Think the Spark Extractor could have taken other things than Sparks?"

"Yes. I remember we were trying to get the Ark done as quickly as possible before everyone was tained with Dark Energon. It was a very hectic time for my command staff and I. If I remember right there were so many sick from the bad energon we were down to a skeleton crew by the time we were able to launch the ship." He didn't like not knowing, and he liked even less that he could potentially have spread something like this to his team. To his friends. To those that didn't need this additional trouble. But it could certainly be something else altogether. He was hoping for it. "Teletraan-1 was one of the first things we moved onto the ship. Alpha Trion insisted on it."
He felt as though he had little to offer this conversation at this point, as there was so much he was missing and so much time he needed to catch up on. Not to mention learning who everyone around him was and what battles had been waged. He had been here for all these things, he just couldn't remember it. Supposedly. So why did it feel like he was in way over his head? Not that he'd say or even express that.
He did want to talk to Ratchet privately about these things, because at least he knew his CMO would give him a straight answer without asking more questions than he could answer first.
"If this isn't viral, then is there the possibility of me being hit with something that temporarily scrambled my memory banks?" Maybe that would get them moving in another direction. Rule one thing out and move on, efficent and to the point.
It was times like this he would really like to have his second at his side. Though Prowl tended to be a difficult mech to deal with, he did tend to keep things on track.
