Player Alias: McCoy
Character Name: Ultra Magnus
Allegiance: Autobot
Appearance Description:
Ultra Magnus looks very visually similar to Optimus Prime. Standing at 29ft, he towers above most members of Team Prime. His frame closely resembles the frame type held by Optimus, however there are alterations which make the two distinguishable from one another. Foremost, Ultra Magnus's towering shoulders make him a dead giveaway, protruding well above his helm.
His alt mode is a semi-trailer truck. This, again, is close to the alt mode held by Optimus Prime.
The color scheme he has chosen is a saturated blue and red color scheme. Along his frame, cerulean biolights accent key portions of his frame.
After a battle against the Predacon leader, Predaking, Magnus was left maimed. His right servo was badly damaged, replaced by Ratchet. It is now three-pronged mechanism that resembles a claw. The disability was a disadvantage for only a short amount of time, and he has since gotten used to the prosthetic.
Personality:
Prior to being a member of the Autobot forces, Ultra Magnus could be described as rebellious, young, and scrappy. He was a devout member of the Wreckers, which at its point of creation was considered a gang. They believed their destruction was for good, however the law of Cybertron viewed it differently. Ultra Magnus often got into trouble due to his affiliation with the Wreckers.
When he joined forces with Sentinel Prime to defeat the Quintessons, he underwent a great deal of change. Through his training with the Elite Guard, he gained a load of maturity, and was molded into the extremely upstanding mech that he is now.
Ultra Magnus has a very straight forward, no nonsense attitude. He is extremely formal, and very to the point with his way of speaking. He takes his positions as second-in-command and leader of the Wreckers very seriously. He leads with a motto of order and command. He is extremely respectful, and he commands the respect of those under his command.
Strengths + Weaknesses:
Strengths:
Levelheaded nature
This lends him a hand in being able to make very quick, very important decisions
Orderly conduct
This helps him to keep a professional attitude, and also to keep those below him in line
Discipline
Much in the way that orderly conduct helps him to keep command, his self discipline combined with his discipline of those beneath him helps to keep his command position
Physical strength
His physical strength is evidenced in his fighting style, and in his ability to recover quickly from injuries
Experience
As with anything, experience gains a person certain knowledges of situations they would otherwise not know how to handle
Weaknesses:
Inability to stray from order
This leads him to be stuck in the mindset that everything can be handled simply by citing lines of Autobot code. He ignores emotion and sticks to regulations which leads to interpersonal conflict
By-the-book attitude
Much the same as above, he finds it difficult to stray from order and rules, and this attitude leads to emotional and social conflict
OCD
His OCD (mainly triggered by unclean conditions and untidy workspaces) is a weakness in that he feels anxious when presented with certain conditions. He feels the need to mend them, and that could be used to his disadvantage
His need to be close to others
Although he would not outwardly express it, Ultra Magnus is an extrovert. He very much feels that he needs to be around others, and this could be used against him by isolating him from others
Fear of failure
Magnus as the SIC of the Autobots and leader of the Wreckers feels a great sense of duty to protect his forces, and to be what they need to motivate them. Failure to be successful is not an option
Abilities:
Ultra Magnus is a trained tactician making it very easy for him to outsmart enemies and plan around their attacks. He is extremely strong, and he has been shown to be able to wield the Forge of Solus with relative ease. His brute strength and background with the Wreckers gives him a tactical advantage in hand-to-hand combat, while his training with the Autobot Elite Guard gives him familiarity with blaster fighting.
He has an uncanny ability to make split-second decisions, and he is extremely good at taking command when it is necessary.
Weaponry:
Because of Magnus's displacement from his own timeline, and into one that is essentially doomed to repeat the same events from his past, Ultra Magnus is left without his weapon of choice - the Forge of Solus. In melee, he is skilled with hand-to-hand combat.
For long distance, he defers to his built-in blaster canons. Aside from this, his ship contains various handheld weapons, and EMP pulse grenades which can be accessed by any Team Prime member looking to wield them.
History:
Ultra Magnus was sparked at some point during the Age of Origins, though precisely when is unsure. During the Age of Wrath, under Quintesson rule, Magnus was a loyal member of the Wreckers. This got him into trouble with the new law of Cybertron, and several times he found himself either injured, or sentenced with some punishment which he outright evaded.
He sided with Sentinel Prime when the time to rebel against the Quintessons came, Ultra Magnus helped to lead Cybertron into battle under Sentinel's orders alongside Soundwave, Elita One, and Alpha Trion. Ultra Magnus was an active participant in what would come to be referred to as Orion's War, and he helped to defeat the Quintessons and rid Cybertron of them for good.
Prior to the Great War, Ultra Magnus underwent training among the ranks of the Elite Guard. When the Great War erupted, Ultra Magnus was quick to side with Optimus Prime (formerly his old war buddy Orion Pax), becoming an Autobot where he later served as the second-in-command for the Autobot forces. While serving under Optimus, he also took up the mantle of Leader of the Wreckers, where he fought alongside the forces of both Wheeljack and Bulkhead.
His arrival to Earth was late in the fight. He arrived in his ship, the Iron Will, and was first greeted by Arcee. He helped to rally the forces of Team Prime back together in their darkest hour. While fighting on Earth, Ultra Magnus faced off against Predaking and was the only Autobot recorded to have lost a limb during their battles.
Roleplay/Writing Sample:
Ultra Magnus was not fully sure what to do as of the exact moment. Optimus was no where to be found, and the Autobot forces of Team Prime had scattered following the horrific destruction of their base. "Bumblebee," the commander called out, turning to face the young scout. "Report your findings from your latest mission."
The current leader could only hope that the results were positive. The forces were in need of anything they could draw hope from, as they were in danger of crumbling before his very optics.
