Excitement levels within the Seekeress grew and expanded the merest second the words came through her Com unit. Energon, there was Energon, actual true Energon found by another survey group. She heard the cheers when the scientists mentioned that in a nearby solar system, there were multiple planets, each one a solid rocky world, extremely rich in Energon.
Unaware whether this was true or not, she went and gathered the other groups, and had them to go to the new location after she relayed the news. Because of the distance, the groups were, she had to go and fly to each of them because her Com unit couldn’t connect to them. Eventually, she reached Spacewarp’s old group, and on relaying the news once more, she was told that the air captain had gone on a solo mission.
In response, she gave an exasperated sound, that could have been a chuckle. Of course, Spacewarp would go on a solo mission, likely go far too, so She’d have to go get their wayward Air captain and tell her the news.
The Seekeress once more took flight and followed Spacewarp’s journey, flying faster and faster until it happened. She slammed into the space-time rip that the Air captain had, and pierced through it. “Ahhhhhh!” she screamed out as she lost control of her flying, Spinning around in midair as she came down. She tried to right herself, and transformed back to robot mode, so she could at least try and land on her feet. At that moment something came out of her ripping through the metal of her chassis. She did land, though with a loud boom that sent countless birds and creatures running away. She also fell flat on her faceplate. “Frag...” She muttered as her servos pushed her up from the ground. As she moved to an upright sitting position, she checked her servos, before taking note of the gaping hole where the HPS had been located. She searched the area frantically before spotting the broken and destroyed remains. “Well Frag me into Unicron’s clearly unclean aft.” She muttered in annoyance. ::This is Skyhook, calling Decepticons, I require medical aid, and my HPS thing is broken, I repeat, I need medical aid there’s a fragging gaping hole in my chassis:: She disliked calling for help, but with a gaping hole, she didn’t think she should risk it, after all, she didn’t want to blow up or something.
Sounds soon distracted her, and she glanced down to see a creature, that looked like an organic version of Ravage roaring at her, and trying to attack her foot. She chuckled before grabbing it and lifting it up. “Heh, a ferocious little creature aren’t you. You remind me of my Father, I think I shall keep you, and name you after him,” she said as she held the black furred tiger in her servos. Before looking up, and waiting for any sign that her comrades were coming.
Fourteen minutes later a decently loud sound rocked the otherwise tranquil forest setting, like having a thunderclap acting as one's alarm clock. It was Spacewarp decelerating to a speed much more suited for careful maneuvering instead of making a b-line to her target. She's been quite the upstanding little seeker lately, always volunteering first for any mission that was offered up, despite how trivial it might've appeared. It was the only way for the former captain to build up enough credit with command to give her any leeway.
A distress call sounded simple enough. She'd performed enough first aid in the field during the war with the Autobots to be considered an honorary medic, Spacewarp thought. It couldn't have been any worse than when she'd crashed on Earth, herself, moving at near-warp speeds with the threat of being atomized on impact. Probably just a lone scout who clipped his wing on a tree, no doubt. She was perfectly ready to see the jinx coming, though. For just having dismissed the call like that, her rescuee might very well have torn themselves in half trying to land, but whatever.
There must've been a bit of interference on the transmission however, as Spacewarp could've sworn she'd heard them mention having an HPS.
There was a patch of the forest that was distinctly lacking as many trees as the surrounding area, so Spacewarp focused her attention on that spot in particular. Lo and behold there was a crashed seeker frame sitting square in the center of it, thankfully not torn in half. She swept down from the clouds, transforming once she hovered a healthy height above the forest floor. Spacewarp slowly descended using her jets, making landfall in front of the damaged seeker a moment later.
She was holding a tiger.
"I really hope that little beast isn't what's done you this harm, dear."
Skyhook had wondered whether or not the distance had been too great for her message to make it to her allies. She mentally kicked herself for not bothering to learn first aid, so that she could at least repair herself if she had to, but nooo she had to concern herself with training. She decided she’ll show some humility and learn from the medic when she got back. The Tiger tried to scratch at her servo, trying to make its escape, but she had a good grip on the creature, she wasn’t going to let him go. Her processor was all full of ideas of how she could enhance the creature, and how deadly it could be to some Autobot when she heard another all too familiar sound.
She looked up to see what was clearly a seeker approaching her. She was pleasantly surprised that her people got this far, wherever this planet was. She didn’t recognize her, due to her change of coloring. She just had to tease her didn’t she as if a small creature could actually harm her. She allowed herself to smirk. “As if this creature can harm me! Though it is ferocious, I think I am going to. Wait a moment, Captain? Captain Spacewarp? That’s you..er why did you change your coloring so suddenly, and how?’ she asked her, she was surprised to see her Idol of her Youth, but the last she had heard, Spacewarp had totally different coloring to her form.
Spacewarp was trying to figure out what would compel somebody to just pick up a piece of the wildlife like it were a bad habit, when she addressed her by both her name and rank. A shiver slid up Spacewarp's spine. Was her hearing faulty? Had she heard that correctly? No, she wasn't crazy. This Seeker was one of hers. She didn't look like Vortex, Slipstream or Ramjet though, so she wasn't anybody from her own squad.
The Decepticon's mouth fumbled with a slew of questions to ask, before she finally settled on her options. "You... you're from the fleet!" she exclaimed, her optics wide in amazement. It was also refreshing like nobody's business as to how it felt to actually hold rank again. She didn't recognize them at all, though the hole in her chest might have been skewing her perceptions a tad.
"Name and rank?" she asked. It would be better if she were a bit more familiar with them, at least.
Skyhook was sure, there was at least dozens, if not thousands of protocols where it clearly states that one probably shouldn’t be picking up wildlife such as the Tiger she now held, but it was cute, ferocious sure, but cute! She was definitely planning on keeping it no matter what anyone said. Her optics blinked at the question confused about why she asked that “yeah, of course, I am, before this, I was coming to get you.” She said to the other femme she knew to be a captain. She indicated the hole in her chest when she said the word this.
She soon remembered she had never spoken to her before, so it’s likely Spacewarp didn’t know her, still “Skyhook, former Sargeant, and Sparkling of our fallen leader” she told her. She waited for her to see what she could do. “I have to admit, I’ve always wanted to get a chance to talk to you, but with the war against the Big fat tub of Slag, and then the one with the Autobots, there were just too many distractions, “ she told her.
The tiger, on the other hand, had managed to push a servo and was about to make its escape.
Now that was something Spacewarp hadn't been expecting. Never once in her life did she ever think she'd be speaking to Megatron's sparkling; she wasn't even aware he'd ever had any. Then Skyhook motioned to her ever-present chest wound, one that Spacewarp probably should've been tending to by now. The shock of meeting somebody from her own universe again still hadn't quite warn off.
She bent down, doing a double take to see that the tiger was still squirming away in the wounded seeker's hand. Spacewarp slapped the younger Decepticon's wrist in the hopes that she'd drop it. It was bad enough she had to be the one to give medical attention, let alone while her patient was playing with the local fauna. Spacewarp was no real doctor, but having been wounded in battle countless times before, she had plenty of impromptu experience. She reached back into her kit to pull out a labeled bottle, handing it down to Skyhook. "Local anesthetic," she said, having just handed her a bottle of double-distilled engex.
Any other medic would've definitely misdiagnosed her wound. Spacewarp knew with absolute certainty that it was caused by Skyhook's HPS core overloading, which only made her question how in the hell this femme was still functioning. She removed an energon applicator from her kit, placing it inside the wound to have it automatically start mapping and subsequently healing the damage.
"I wasn't aware that I had fans. Always figured you next-gens were too scared to talk to some of us vets."
Skyhook blinked when she slapped her wrist. Fortunately for Spacewarp, and the admired creature, the wound she had was causing her some problems, so the wrist opened wider, allowing the Tiger to make its escape. “Ah! Hey!” she complained in response, but she relaxed, thinking that maybe it was for the best. When she got back, she decided she’ll have the engineers create something for her. Besides the Tiger that escape was organic, and thus needed something else, so yeah, she found herself fine with letting it go.
Skyhook watched her grab a bottle, which on closer inspection was clearly labeled as engex. She drank from the bottle, as she began t work. The bottle doing what Spacewarp wanted it to do, she couldn’t feel what she was doing. She was surprised to hear she wasn’t aware she had fans. She figured she knew. “You mean no one crowded you, hoping you would sign some kind of autograph? Slag, if I knew that, I’d be the only one! My admiration for you grew when you joined and fought the huge guy, but I’ve been a fan long before that. A few cycles into my Youngling stage, I found myself in Nyon, and its underground racing, I was so enamored with what I saw, that despite having to use that light post, I enjoyed myself. “
She found herself grinning which may be the word of the engex. “You were going so fast, the things you were able to do impressed me a great deal. I mean I haven’t yet practiced my flying too much so I wasn’t aware of how fast I was able to go. “
Spacewarp's hands halted at their work as Skyhook mentioned Nyon. Oh. She hadn't meant fans from her military career; she'd meant even before that. Stars, that was a long time ago. The Spacewarp that was patching a hole at the moment was drastically different than the one Skyhook had been talking about. A part of her was sincerely flattered that she'd managed to keep a fan from the old days around for so long, and another part wished simply not to remember the old days at all.
She was rather talkative for a bot with a hole blown through her chest. "I didn't think any of my fans survived Unicron. I might've gone back to racing after the war was over, if Nyon were still there..." Spacewarp shook her head lightly, focusing on the task at hand once more. "I haven't had wheels on me in ages, though; afraid I've traded my knack for racing for flying."
The seeker turned her head up from her work once the breach was decently filled, "Did you actually fight in the war?"
Skyhook wanted to keep herself occupied, by the time this moment happens, she’d be moving, either flying in her alt mode or attacking something. She knew that such a thing was unproductive to her healing, so she felt like talking. Talking meant that she was alright, then again, she did drink that engex so she may or may not be a little drunk.
Her optics lowered to take in the work she was doing, noting her skill. “We lost a lot of people, thanks to his giant aft,” she told her as she worked. She watched as the breach was decently filled. She was glad and eternally grateful. “Yup, I fought a lot of his Terrorcons, told a few of them to tell Unicron I said hello, like a polite Femme. Father had me stay back, however, to defend Cybertron, when you and the others of the Squadron went off to the Colonies. Then Bam! we kicked Unicron’s big aft .” She told her.
She sighed, “I thought that would be it, the sacrifices that had happened, I thought that as it, but noo, that wasn’t it, there was more fighting we had to do. Cybertron and her colonies paid the ultimate sacrifice, no more Energon… Oh! That reminds me, I was coming to get ya, we found it, found Energon. There's a System out there, all planets were rock solid, and the sensors say each and everyone had Energon, all of them, so much Energon that we’d be all set for eons.’ she said unaware of whether or not the sensors had been tampered with or not.
Spacewarp stood back up, having mended the wound to the best of her limited ability. On any other day, under any other circumstance, and Skyhook's news would've brought a look of elation to the weary Decepticon's face. None of her survey data mattered now, and it probably wouldn't ever matter again. She didn't want to talk about the war much more than they already had, so Spacewarp shifted to let Skyhook know the gravity of their shared situation. "Doesn't matter now, I'm afraid. Far as I know we're all trapped in this universe; I've been here for months and I haven't found a way back. Still not sure how I got myself here in the first place..."
The much heftier Seeker drew a cy-gar from her kit, pacing over to a nearby tree. Spacewarp pulled the small object up against the tree's bark, producing a spark to light it by the end. She chomped down on it, taking one long drag from it, exhaling a light plume of smoke. "You're actually the third to arrive here. Lieutenant Airwalker... my son, made it here just a few weeks ago. We joined up with the Decepticons of this universe in the meantime."
"They have a Megatron too, an living one at that."
Skyhook to the work Spacewarp had done, she felt confident that she could transform if she wanted to. Taking note of Spacewarp standing back, she took that as a sign she was done. Some rocks fell as she got up from her rocky seat. She glanced towards the remains of her HPS and knew its gonna be a while before they got back to the fleet. That’s when Spacewarp let her into their shared situation.
The look on her faceplate was priceless. She didn’t believe her, though the fact that Spacewarp had a new body as a huge clue. She continued to listen, her optics only widened, as did her mouth when she heard that Megatron was alive here. “Wait, wait, wait, you're slagging me, aren’t you?’ she asked her. She took note of Spacewarp lighting a Cy-gar. The Seekeress never really understood the habit herself. “First, you’ve only been gone for a Cycle, three at most, not a month. Though..your frame is different..” she stated and then observed.
She shook her head in disbelief. “If Father-if Megatron is actually alive as you say then that’s gonna be the proof of what you say is the truth, I’m sorry but alternate universes seem extremely science fiction to me. “ She told her, she disliked thinking Spacewarp was lying to her, but she felt this was what she had told her was.
Spacewarp tossed a glance down to her armor. She had to admit, this universe had a distinct sense of fashion compared to home. There'd never been a time when she'd looked better. There hadn't been an opportunity to really take in how she looked before, so Spacewarp began doing a small visual inventory of herself. She turned on her heel to give herself a glance from multiple angles. "I trashed my old form when I crashed here... never thought I'd look so good in black and white and... never mind."
"Wellp, you're living in science-fiction now. I'd get used to it, because we're not going back home anytime soon." It was a harsh reality they now shared, but it wasn't one Spacewarp was completely against. This universe did come with a cute, and charming Seeker, after all. "You know he probably won't care, right? This Megatron has no sparklings, and I don't think he'd be a good choice for trying to repair that kind of relationship."
Skyhook took in her idol’s new form as she had. She noted the difference in color and some other changes in her body. She wasn’t sure if she liked it, she was used to her old form, it was familiar to her. She figured that she will get used to the new form soon too. Already her processor was making the connection the new form had to her idol. “You do look good in that, ” she commented on her words.
She wasn’t sure if she still believed her, but she never heard of Spacewarp actually lying before, which meant they really were in an alternate universe. She could almost hear the jokes back home, too fast and powerful that not even the universe could hold her. Such a thing would have made her laugh if she hadn’t been distracted by the thoughts of Megatron’s existence being true here.
“Our Megatron probably wasn’t much better, since he had to be a leader to everyone, he had others to deal with my upbringing. Still, it would be nice to get orders from him again. I am also looking forward to seeing how he and our’s differed as well. So, Megatron Prime exists here, who else do we know, from the Fleet has a copy here?” she asked her.
Spacewarp twinged slightly as Skyhook referred to their Megatron, Megatron Prime as he was known. Having been well informed about the history of this Megatron however, made her reel at the thought. "Oh... no no... don't call him that. He's not a Prime here. Primes are sided with the Autobots in this universe, I'm afraid." Silent had brought her up to speed on just why this version of Megatron had started a war in the first place. There were many similar comparisons she'd noted between the two leaders, though she had to admit that one in particular seemed a bit petty.
She took another puff from her cy-gar before she moved on to her new pal's second question. Spacewarp hadn't seen too many familiar faces, though to be fair many of them were rocking completely different frames than what she was used to. There was one that stuck out, however. "Starscream. Starscream's here, too."
