Player Alias: Jaxrond
Character Name: Stormshot
Allegiance: Decepticon (leaning Neutral)
Appearance Description:
Stormshot is a Vosian seeker and is built with a frame similar to his brethren. His chassis is heavily armored and bulky, which, in addition to the wings on his back, makes him rather top heavy. His stabilizing wings are attached to the armor of his lower legs. He is primarily red, white, and blue with black accenting, forgoing the normally simplistic colors that other seekers tend to wear. Rather than a pair of optics, Stormshot has a single visor, which gives him a wider range of vision and fewer blind spots than would be present with two separate optics.
Alt. Mode:
MiG-29
Personality:
Fearless – Headstrong – Intelligent – Calculating – Noble – Cunning – Adaptable – Wily – Short-Tempered – Good-Humored – Confident – Proud - Charismatic
For a Decepticon, Stormshot seems to be a mass of contradictions. He has a noble streak a mile wide and lacks the deceptive tendencies of his brethren. But, it is exactly for these reasons that he joined the Decepticon cause in his own universe.
Fearless and headstrong, he makes a good soldier. There’s no task he cannot do, and, when coupled with his confidence in himself and his comrades, this transfers into a natural ability to lead. He has a mind for tactics, the battlefield make sense to him in much the same way air currents do to even the most inexperienced seeker. He is inherently bright, able to carry on conversations concerning numerous fields, and has a natural propensity for learning. Stormshot is also highly adaptable, able to apply knowledge both old and new and shift himself according to his situation. This factors into a certain wiliness on the battlefield.
For all of his good qualities, though, Stormshot does have some major failings. When his innate sense of nobility is challenged, his confidence turns to pride, which can easily throw him off-balance mentally. He is also rather short-tempered, despite his usual good humor. If something does not go according to plan, he becomes annoyed. And, for Stormshot, annoyance escalates quickly.
Strengths:
Tactical Mind: Stormshot is a gifted tactician, able to read the flow of combat and adapt to it quickly.
Flight: As a seeker, Stormshot has air superiority.
Charisma: Naturally charismatic and charming, Stormshot is a capable and confident leader.
Aerial Combat: Stormshot is an incredibly gifted flier, even among the seekers. For this reason, he prefers to stay in the sky and, as such, had become a very adept aerial combatant
Weaknesses:
Pride: This particular weakness is born of his cool confidence and often feeds into his temper.
Temper: A bit of a perfectionist, Stormshot doesn’t handle it well when things don’t go well. This usually manifests in anger.
Wavering Loyalty: He was so sure of the cause when he joined, after so much fighting and atrocity, however, he isn’t sure what he’s fighting for anymore…
Ground Fighting: Stormshot is trained to fight from the air. Grounding him would severely hinder his fighting ability. Any ground skills he has are focused on getting an opponent off of him long enough to get airborn.
Abilities:
Reconnaissance: Stormshot is able to maintain high altitudes in jet mode for the sake of surveillance. His frame is built for speed and agility with quick dives, strafes, and passes in mind.
Aerial Hand-to-Hand: Stormshot is capable of using the thrusters in the heels of his bipedal mode to gain at least some altitude or to maintain altitude after transforming in midair. He uses this to his advantage for enhanced maneuverability.
Aereospace Capability: Stormshot has the necessary modifications for space travel and atmosphere entry.
Weaponry:
Twin Blasters
Vehicle-based Strafing Guns
History:
Before the war, Stormshot was an explorer from Vos, one of those charged with going out and seeking Energon in other systems. While this was an exciting job, it was not a glorious one. All too often, he came in conflict with alien species who served as a threat and, all too often, his fears that he may lose his life in his explorations were disregarded by those above him. Like so many others, he wanted equality, and Megatron promised it. Stormshot was one who joined the Decepticons early on, holding to the ideology they touted. Being as sure of the rightness of his cause as he was, he whole-heartedly joined in even when the rallies turned violent.
Then, things went downhill. War erupted. Cities were destroyed. Millions of lives lost. He continued to hold on to the belief that these were necessary evils. Being a low ranking officer, he had the luxury of doing so, the privilege of continued idealistic belief. Still, as atrocity after atrocity mounted, Skyshot began to doubt his faction. He could not agree with the Autobots, whose faction had been born of the Senate he’d struggled against. But, his own comrades were becoming unrecognizable. Was it they who had changed? Or was it him? It didn’t matter. After years of conflict and death, Stormshot came to realize that, somewhere down the line, his spark had stopped thrumming with Decepticon ideology. Likely, this first breakage had occurred with the destruction of Vos.
This realization caused him to bristle in both anger in fear, a natural reaction. Anger that his dreams of an equal Cybertron had gone so horribly wrong and fear that he was in far too deep to simply step out now. The DJD haunted the thoughts of every Decepticon and, for him, who was so blatantly considering defection…
Best to simply lay low and ride out the storm. Until an opportunity presents itself.
Though... accidental travel to a dimension not dissimilar from his own may present that opportunity.
