Player Alias: TowerLight
Character Name: Dinobot
Allegiance:Decepticon Autobot
Appearance Description: Dinobot’s frame is small compared to his vehicular allies though rather bulky thanks to the armour. The head of his raptor mode makes up his chest, with its eyes still able to be moved by Dinobot allowing him to discreetly watch events in his peripheral vision. His body is mostly made up of the sandy brown of his raptor skin although his mechanical parts tend to be grey, blue or gold including his lower legs, head and abdomen.
In raptor mode he is a vicious velociraptor, with much of his mechanical parts covered by his techno-organic skin.
Personality: Dinobot is fiercely honourable Cybertronian, even as a Decepticon. He is a warrior at heart and will fight for what he sees as right, regardless of what other people think. Due to this Dinobot can seem rather gruff and cold towards his new comrades, which definitely doesn’t help them trust him more. Despite all of this, Dinobot is loyal to his fellow Autobots and will fight to the end for their cause.
Strengths + Weaknesses: Dinobot is a powerful melee fighter, capable of holding his own in hand-to-hand and with most basic weapons. His true strength however lies within his swordfigthing skills. He dual wields his two built-in weapons, a spinning shield and his rotator blade, which combine to form a scabbard for the sword that pies on his back. He is no stranger to ranged combat either, being able to fire high-powered beams from his eyes as well as using blasters, although they aren’t his preferred method. Being a techno-organic has perks as well, with Dinobot being able to heal wounds that don’t hit his mechanical core naturally. However, Dinobot is not invincible, and his techno-organic form can serve as a bit of a curse for any medic who needs to fix his mechanical parts, as it is rather alien to most Cybertronians. As well as that Dinobot is an Ex-Decepticon and shoulders all of the discrimination and distrust that comes with defecting, as well as the constant threat of being on the DJD’s dreaded list.
Abilities: Dinobot’s robot eyes have two plasma cannons built into them, allowing him to fire deadly beams at the cost of temporarily blinding himself. His raptor mode eyes don’t have this feature but can see much better, including in the dark. Speaking about his raptor mode in it Dinobot is capable of moving much faster, almost on par with speedy vehicle-based alt modes. He trades up that extra bit of speed for motor skills, being able to grab things (or people) with his mouth or swat them with his tail. His raptor mode’s jaw can be used to store things in both raptor and bot modes.
Weaponry: Dinobot, besides the aforementioned laser eyes, has two weapons. His powerful spinning sword, a blade in multiple spiked segments that spins at rapid speeds allowing it to block attacks with ease or bore into his enemies. The scabbard for this blade is a weapon in of itself, turning into Dinobot’s rotating shield which acts less as a shield and more of a bludgeoning tool.
History:. Once upon a time, the Decepticon named Grappler was chosen for a dangerous experimental process which would create the first techno-organics. While his fellow test subjects were irreparably damaged either physically or mentally by the process Dinobot seemed to get out of it alright. While he remained sound of mind and sound of new body he had been given a side effect due to the process; a change of perspective. Seeing how easily his superiors would let him and his fellow soldiers die such dishonourable deaths made him rethink his loyalty to the Decepticon cause. After much study and soul-searching he concluded that the badge he wore meant nothing in comparison to what it once meant. And so he ran.
But defecting from the Decepticon is not without consequence. Grappler was hunted relentlessly by his once allies, although managed to fend them off with his new mode and his blade. Eventually, he stowed away on an Autobot dropship in a warzone and willingly surrendered to the Autobots before eventually being officially made a member, much to the annoyance of some of his new comrades.
Roleplay/Writing Sample: Dinobot crept through the ruined city in his raptor mode, making sure he was covered as much as possible by the surrounding wreckage as he moved. He knew there was 3 Decepticons in the area, searching for him. Ah, here’s one of them now. The bot appeared to have a car mode, and was wielding a blaster clearly too big for him. Easy pickings. Dinobot stepped out, transforming and unsheathing his blade in a swift, fluid motion. As his prey turned around he swiftly sliced at his neck before the bot could utter a noise or fire a shot. Dinobot caught his body as it fell to the ground, gently lowering it as to lessen the noise. He then transformed back and would’ve made his escape had one of his allies, a seeker not seen both him and the body. Dinobot muttered a swear as he dived under cover from the rain of gunfire. He got up in his robot mode just to see the third Decepticon, a car, speed towards him. He just barely managed to take out his spinning shield and rev it up before the car hit. The two went careening into the building, both scrambling up. Dinobot’s sword sung as it slashed at his opponent’s hand, sending the gun he was aiming flying across the room and away from its owner as the sword bored its way through his T-Cog. Dinobot shoved the body off as the seeker landed at the site where the two crashed in, brandishing an energo sword. Dinobot smirked “Ahh, a fellow wielder of the blade.” He sneered. The seeker growled at him. “You killed my friends...And if you kill me, I’ll take solace in knowing the DJD will do infinitely worse to you than I ever could.”
Dinobot banged his sword off his shield. “If they ever find me, now approach!” The Decepticon roared and ran at him. The two fought hard, their blades clashing off each other furiously but eventually, the Decepticon made a fatal mistake, one that only another swordsmen of their calibre would spot. His footing was slightly off on his thrust and Dinobot took full advantage, knocking him on his aft and plunging the blade into him. He silently paid his respects for the warrior before transforming once more and running off before any other Decepticons found him.
