Player Alias: Chris
Character Name: William Amadeus Fowler
Allegiance: Human {Autobot Ally}
Appearance Description:
Bill is a tall, strongly built African American man of sixty-two. Known for almost always wearing a suit, and a bushy hair cut. He normally looks stern and serious, but is known for a big, bright smile when the occasion arises.
Personality:
Tough as nails, sharp witted, and sarcastic are all words to describe Bill Fowler. Often mistaken for a hard ass without much care, it couldn’t be further from the truth. He often has a respect for just about anyone so long as you don’t mess with his family: biological or otherwise. Since he’s very much a “mess with the bull and you get the horns” kind of guy.
That said - he oftentimes has a stern and serious disposition. Known for taking his job and the security of the Autobots and their other allies very seriously. He’d put his life on the line to get his job done, and protect his country as well as the free world, and anyone, Autobots included, in it. He’s even been known to bend the rules a little if it’s for the greater good.
On top of his serious side however is a goofy, jovial one. Fowler enjoys telling jokes, even if they sometimes amount to “dad jokes” and lives for his free time. Sometimes known for hanging out with the Bots even on his “off days” just because he enjoys theirs and the other human allies company. Even if he tries to hide the fact sometimes - though not very well.
Strengths + Weaknesses:
STRENGTHS
Adaptability: Bill may often complain - but he’s easy to adapt to most situations. Often known for being the first one to have a plan of action when the situation calls for it.
Pilot: Bill is a skilled enough pilot that it’s a wonder he wasn’t Air Force. Known for loving to take many vehicles out for a spin - though it goes without saying he can get a little overzealous about it.
Military Knowledge: As a military man, he’s on a stronger level of combat than most of the other humans. More than able to stand alongside the Autobots as a fighter himself. Though still a mouse among giants.
Social: Though he is a very serious person, Bill is very social once he gets to know you. Typically able to easily make friends and find something to relate to a person with.
Resourceful: Thanks to his standing with Unit-E and the military, Bill has many resources at his disposal. Able to call on side for the Autobots and himself when necessary without much difficulty.
WEAKNESSES
Kids: It’s no secret that, as a father, the easiest way to get to Fowler is to put kids in the equation. He will often stand up for the younger allies when he needs to - even if it puts him in the line of danger.
June Darby: There is just something about that woman that Bill has trouble with. It’s not that he likes her (yes it is) but she has a way of getting under his skin like no other. And sure... he might have a slight thing for her.
Chaos: If there’s one thing that drives Fowler nuts it’s a lack of order and a strong sense of chaos. He likes to be in control of situations and when he isn’t he can’t exactly take it sometimes.
His Superiors: He often finds himself at the mercy of his superiors. Even though he will go against them - and often does, they have a way of getting to him. A way which can often end with his neck on the chopping block.
Some of his Personality: His more serious side can be a little off putting to some of the younger people - both Autobot and human. Bill can find it a little hard to make people see past this - try as he might.
Abilities:
Bill is a skilled pilot, known for flying most vehicles with a practical ease. Also, as a retired Army Ranger, he is known for adept skills with various military weapons
Weaponry:
Several military grade weapons and whatever the Military or Unit-E can offer him.
History:
William “Bill” Fowler was born the oldest of five to Colonel Damond Fowler and his wife, Anabelle Fowler in rural Tennessee. Growing up in a military family - Bill had to deal with moving a lot, always having to make new friends and adjust to new schools. So his family, his brothers and sister especially were his rock with which he shared an extremely strong bond.
This bond was especially prominent between himself and his dad. He was openly a “daddy’s boy” as a kid, often sticking to his father like glue when he wasn’t overseas. Bill wanted nothing more than to be just like him and embraced every opportunity to explore new ways to do so. By the time he was fourteen, he had joined the JROTC and become a leader among his peers.
It was around this time that they moved to Washington and he first heard the term “Unit-E”.
Back then, Fowler was excited given his dad was around more. But as a special agent, his new objectives became more and more secretive. Fowler, for the most part, lead a normal high school life, becoming validictorian before entering basic training almost immediately after. The US Army continued to teach Fowler the meaning of respect and comrodary he would carry through his days.
When he was in his twenties, his fathers work became even more secretive. His comings and goings when Bill was stateside became more frequent. And his work was said to be “so secret even he barely knew what he was dealing with”. Bill was interested - but had much more important things on his plate. Such as meeting his wife, Sherrie, just before his next tour in the army.
It would be his last tour in the army.
During this time - Bill, now thirty, and one of the youngest colonel’s, was wounded by a car bomb. Bill was lucky to be alive - but taken out of active duty with an honorable discharge. Bill returned stateside, married Sherrie, and had their son, William Fowler Jr. He was only stateside for a few months when Unit-E finally encouraged him to join up - which he was glad to do.
As a federal agent for Unit-E he found his job rather daunting at best. Though he continued to work hard, and long hours mostly working alongside the big brass. As the years passed, he watched as his mom grew older and died - something which took a hard toll on his family. Around the time he was forty, he and Sherrie welcomed a daughter.
Around this time, he and Sherrie’s marriage grew strained to a point that they could no longer continue it. They divorced when their daughter was five and their son fifteen. Bill buried himself in his work and kids for the next fifteen years. Eventually welcoming a grandson, and sending his daughter to college before he got the call that changed his life.
His father had passed away peacefully in his sleep.
It was a hard blow to the former Army Ranger. But one stipulation of his will left him something he was not prepared for: the Autobots. A group of aliens his father had spent all those years looking after and being liason to. The group who had since moved from Mt St Hillary to Jasper, would be his responsibility to look after from now on. Taking on the mantle of liason from his father as his last request.
It’s now been two years, and a move later. And he and the Bots are on reasonably good terms despite the rocky start they got off to. Sometimes he wonders, four human kids, and a whole lot of trouble later if he really was the right man for the job. But the more he is around the Autobots, the more he finds himself growing closer to them - willing to follow them into battle no matter what.
Considering how big their little “family” is growing these days, on top of school expenses and family life - the stress is very evident. But Bill is more than ready to take it in stride as best he can.
