It was raining.
The first time it had rained on Earth, the frontliner had zipped under cover. On Cybertron, rain was acidic, striking the weak seams in a mech's armor and eating through thinner plating. Pit, it would even damage thicker plating. When he'd realized it was just water, he'd edged out, only to emit a sound like a static hiss and immediately retreat to his safe spot.
Water. That nasty hydrogen-based substance that caused rust. And it was cold. Eventually, annoyance had driven him back out and he'd simply endured, a gold Lamborghini zipping down the wet roads, growling menacingly.
He still hated it. The warm water of the washracks was different. It could be toweled off quickly. This slag? A soft litany of Cybertronian curses left him as his tires slid on the pavement at a particularly sharp curve. Frag, it was annoying!
Still growling and groaning, he opened his sensors again, unable to catch the reading that had been popping in and out of his range.

Excellion had forgotten how much of a pain water could be, especially when a constant stream of droplets pattered against his frame and made it difficult to drive on the pavement. He couldn't even go his usual speeds without nearly hydroplaning, which had happened a couple of times.
Mumbling inaudible words of annoyance, the speedster kept his speeds at a decent pace as the headlights of his vehicle form shined through the gloomy weather. "I thought the weather back home was strange, this planet just is plain weird." He grumbled, not that his headlights being on helped much in terms of seeing.
Not that the Velocitronian was really going anywhere in particular. He had been on Earth only a few days at most, fresh from a trip in space and now stranded here due to his ship falling apart by now. At this point, he was just following the roads, having not made any attempts to hide his presence by this time. Not that his paint job was exactly hard to miss even in this kind of weather. But in speaking of flashy paint jobs...As Excellion made his way down the road, he did note another type of sports car driving the opposite direction, a bright yellow color that was hard to miss.
Whether it was another Cybertronian or just one of the natives, Excellion couldn't help speaking up as he passed, "Nice paint job!"

Sunstreaker's internal, and external, griping had left him only partially aware of his surroundings. Which was why he was caught off-guard when something blew past him. Or, rather, someone, judging by the comment that had been thrown his way. He braked hard, screeching across rain-soaked pavement. Had that been a compliment? Or was it sarcasm?
Whatever the case, that was another Cybertronian.
He wheeled around quickly, tires spinning in the water, and took off in pursuit. Whether it was a compliment or not, he didn't know this bot. If he was an Autobot, he wasn't one Sunstreaker knew. If he was a 'Con...no, that was an Autobot signature. Hm, and he had a look that was just Sunstreaker's kind of flashy.
The frontliner opened his comms, roaring around a bend at dangerous speeds.
::Not bad yourself,:: he said by way of greeting, ::I wasn't expecting to see another bot out here.::

The sound of someone's engine caused Excellion to adjust his mirrors slightly, curiously peering back at the approaching vehicle. It so happened to be the same sports car he had just passed by, making the Velocitronian wonder if his comment had ticked them off or not and bracing for the possibility of a problem. Knowing his luck it tended to happen even when he was trying to be nice.
Sometimes he just came off as gruff or insulting.
Much to his surprise someone opened a comm channel to him instead, "::I'll admit neither was I. Didn't realize you were one yourself.::" Excellion responded in kind, relieved he wasn't having to face an angry driver or someone ready to give him an audio full for a potentially inappropriate remark. "::Names Excellion of Velocitron, just landed here on Earth a few days ago. But if I'm being honest, this planet kinda sucks already in my short time here, is it always like this?::" Excellion inquired curiously. If anyone would know what Earth was like it would probably be this bot surely.
