Characters: @silentsky, Spacewarp, Open to Decepticons Location: The Nemesis Content Warnings: N/A Plot Summary: Silentsky and Spacewarp attempt an exercise in building their self-confidence
It might've been better if Spacewarp had suggested the idea while she was already outside of her armor, then it may have sounded a bit more realistic. She had proposed an exercise for herself and Silentsky, in particular one meant to 'help' their confidence. They were both going to go about the Nemesis without their respective 'walls'.
Sunstreaker felt as though Silent kind of had the easier task. People had seen her without her cloaking field engaged before, she'd hoped. Meanwhile, nobody save for Airwalker even knew she'd been a loadbearer, until now that is. She felt like she'd be going naked, in a ship full of Decepticons no less. Understandably, she was a tad afraid.
"I'm ah... a little afraid of doing this, but we still should do it, right?" she asked, before her mind snapped to what she'd just said.
"Oh, and please no short jokes; I know I just said little, but still."
Silentsky didn't know why she had gone with Spacewarp's suggestion. She felt rather...exposed being so out in the open, actually trying to see if anyone took a great notice of them. Preferring to just be invisible, figuratively and literally, had always been so much easier. She knew she was known obviously, but being at the front and center made her wings flick nervously. The one thing had refused to do however was show her face beneath her visor and mask.
"Spacewarp, I still am unsure about this." Silentsky spoke softly, her tone above of a whisper but not near its normal tone that Spacewarp had heard during their time together. She glanced down at the smaller femme, the uncertainty clear in her tone and behind her face covers certainly reflected in her expression. "I know we should be building our confidence but...this seems a bit ambitious." She admitted, but paused to gently rest a hand on her shoulder in reassurance about the last part.
"I wouldn't be so cruel to you like that." Silentsky though glanced down the corridor, "Only short joke I'm making is how short this exercise will last. Maybe we should have just done some training instead." She mumbled, wings flattening against her back nervously.
The shorter seeker let out a laugh, albeit a nervous one. "I think we can call yesterday training, in some weird way. But I'll be here with you," she said, sliding her hand into Silent's. "And you'll be here with me..." Saying so, Sunstreaker actually felt a little confidence return. She wouldn't be showing herself to the Decepticons alone, at least.
At long last, Sunstreaker began walking. They weren't headed anywhere in particular, just a walk around the ship to stretch their legs. "On the upside, if this goes horribly, we'll go back to my room and never talk about it again..." A drink was implied, as was usually the case with Spacewarp. They'd only been drinking the day before, but there was never a time not to as far as she was concerned. It helped to ease the rough edges of nasty memories, as she felt this experience was quick to become.
It had been a while, but she was also curious as to just how much she could drink without the armor hooked up to her systems.
Skyhook had spent most of the day exploring and memorizing herself with the entirety of the ship. To say she’d been surprised that the Decepticon base was this ship, was a shock to her system. She still thought it was an adequate ship, but the troops, on the other hand, she wasn’t certain off, but like she had told Megatron, she would follow orders, so she needn’t care about the troops.
The Seekeress was certain that there had to be troops that deserved her respect, so she decided she should go search for them. “I really must remember to go down to the Engineering, people, and see if they are willing to create a pet for me. I mean they do waste things on these drones after all, so what harm could one creature that’s useful be,” she muttered before she saw two Decepticons she was certain she hadn’t met before.
As far as she was able to tell, both were Femme, and one was small, probably a Minicon. She hurried to catch up with them. ”ahh, comrades! Greetings” she said to the two, not realizing that her idol was there.
Silentsky gave Spacewarp's hand a light squeeze, showing a bit of affection and trying to express she was glad to have the smaller seeker there. It was much more comforting to have someone there to go through the experience, much less just to be at her side. This feeling...it was still so new yet it warmed her spark. Though, that didn't entirely alleviate her own shyness and nervousness creeping up even more in her spark as she moved beside the smaller seeker.
"I'll probably forego the drinking this time though, one of us has to be sound of mind." The younger of the two teased gently, casting her gaze forward once more. They could do this, they could do this, they could...nope!
The moment Skyhook had shown herself, Silentsky's wings went up in slight alarm and her cloaking field activated by reflex now. Quite frankly, she had become so use to using it when startled or feeling distressed it was hard not to resort to it and bolt or use a new strategy. But this, this was a far different situation. The cloaking field was active but she found herself remaining, not wanting to leave Spacewarp to deal with her own social anxiety alone.
If she hadn't liked Spacewarp so much, that probably would have been an entirely different story.
Sunstreaker looked over to her companion, instinctively as Skyhook rounded the corner to greet them. Gone. A frozen look of confusion, horror and disbelief was pointed at the space where Silentsky had just been standing, cast by the now-alone minicon sized seeker. The more she thought about it, Silent was lucky. Sunstreaker would've killed to have been forged with the ability to vanish whenever she pleased, instead of the ability to be confused with a walking memory stick back home.
Skyhook.
There were worse Decepticons she could think of to run into like this, though not many. Skyhook was young, and a bit naive, but she wasn't all bad. Still, she'd never seen her idol in her base form before. It would be an interesting conversation to say the least.
Being that Silent had chosen to remove herself from the situation, it fell upon Sunstreaker to carry both of their burdens herself. She puffed out her chest, as far as a 7 foot loadbearer's body would allow for at least.
Skyhook had hoped there were Decepticons of a caliber higher than the typical Vehicons she had seen, and right there in front of her was two examples of something different. No sooner she had greeted the two of them, one had vanished. Causing her to step back in surprise. “By Unicrons clearly unclean aft!” she swore her unique swear as her optics blinked in surprise and shock. She never knew anyone could do that. That wouldn’t be the only surprise she had to witness, as the adorable little Minicon spoke to her, and she knew her name.
Her optics blinked In surprise. Had they all been in her home Universe it probably wouldn’t have surprised her to hear that people she hadn’t met yet knew who she was, but this wasn’t her universe, and she didn’t recognize her. “Ok.. I have too many questions, both are equally important, one how did that Femme vanish like that?! Where did she go, and two, again this is equally important, but how does an adorable Minicon like you know my name?!” she asked.
Spark racing a bit, Silentsky glanced down at Spacewarp, her wings drooping slightly in realizing she had already broken into her usual reaction. But, it was a habit not easily broken. And with a sigh, Silentsky's cloaking field deactivated to reveal she had not moved from her spot, simply hid herself. "Sorry Spacewarp, too great a habit." She murmured softly, her wings going back up again, trying to push down her shyness.
"I am still here. I simply activated a cloaking field." Silentsky's voice fell to its emotionless whisper as she addressed Skyhook, having to ease out of her comfort zone little by little. But that was saying something to get herself so much as to reveal herself like this. "I am Silentsky, given my name with good reason." She introduced with a small nod of her head.
Admittedly though, Silentsky couldn't help looking down at her minicon companion, curious by her greeting. So the two knew one another?
It felt like she was actually back home, what with being called a minicon again. She was anything but, though it hadn't stopped her 'peers' from calling her one during her early racing days. Sunstreaker blinked and found Silentsky standing next to her again, thankfully having remained where she'd originally been standing. She couldn't be mad at her for being herself, though; those beautiful emerald eyes wouldn't let Sunstreaker rise above a simmer.
She smiled, looking back up at them.
After Silent introduced herself, Sunstreaker felt Skyhook deserved an explanation, one she hoped the younger seeker would take. She raised a hand, as if she were being called upon to provide an answer.
"For the record, I am not adorable, and neither am I a minicon," she said with the utmost civil tone. Silent could debate the former statement to her spark's content later.
Skyhook stepped back only slightly when the Femme she now knew to be Silentsky reappeared once more. Her optics blinked when she referred to what she thought of as the Minicon as Spacewarp. That surprised her a great deal. She didn’t know that the real Spacewarp was this small. In hindsight, though she had watched her race, she hadn’t really stayed back to watch her get interviewed, in fact, the only news regarding Spacewarp she had bothered to listen or read was when she had chosen to not join the Decepticons.
She realized right then, that she had missed out on a lot of information about her idol. Silentsky was an interesting Femme, she had a cloak field, that she had apparently activated that made her disappear. It was fascinating, though the Seekeress knew she wouldn’t use technology like that, she still found it interesting.
She knew that Minicons were small Cybertronians and clearly Spacewarp was now a small Cybertronian.
She had no intention of teasing them or being rude, but she wanted more information. “Admittedly, I was..distracted back home, I didn’t hear about this form of yours, is this new? “ She asked Spacewarp after, of course, she knew she had to introduce herself. “As she has told you, I am Skyhook, Offspring of… no one here..” she said, remembering to stop herself from saying the name of her father. She had been so proud of calling herself the Sparkling of Megatron back home. “It’s an honor to meet you, Silentsky,” she told her.
Not adorable? Silentsky couldn't help giving a slightly tilt of her head to look down at her companion in response to that first part. Quit frankly, it took every ounce of Silentsky's being not to react any further or make a small protest, but a small hum came from her as if she was already contemplating her arguments for later.
For now, she turned her attention back to Skyhook, "Pleasure to meet you as well Skyhook." Silentsky responded in kind, giving a small bow of her head. Though she couldn't help looking a little curious when she stopped herself telling who she was the offspring of. Ordinarily, such things didn't really concern the young Seeker. You are who you are, regardless of who your family was but Skyhook seemed intent on stopping herself from explaining who that was.
Still, there was a burning question she herself couldn't help asking, "So you two come from the same universe, huh?" She finally inquired towards both.
Spacewarp could not imagine what it would've been like if this form were new. To be reduced to such a form was unthinkable for a normal Cybertronian, from her point of view at least. "No... it's not. I've always been this small, everything you've seen has just been one set of armor or another." She took notice of how Skyhook dodged her own introduction, strangely. Normally saying that you were the spawn of Megatron got you some token respect. That's how it worked back home, at least.
She turned her head back up to Silent, having asked the question of the hour. "Ye...yes- hang on, hold still..." The 'looking up at people' part of conversation was something Spacewarp was terribly out of practice with, and it had begun to seriously annoy her. She was itching to just hop back in her armor like it were a warm, inviting bed. Settling for the next best thing, Spacewarp decided to change her perspective. A pair of yellow wings sprung rather adorably from her back, which she used to maneuver through the air as she slowly jetted upwards with a pair of heel-mounted thrusters. Since holding herself in mid-air was tiresome, Spacewarp settled comfortably on Silentsky's shoulder.
Once she was sitting at an acceptable height, she finally answered, "Yes, we are. I'm very envious of your intact Cybertron."
To say she was surprised that she had been fooled was an understatement. In all honesty what Spacewarp was, was actually rare, so it wouldn’t be a surprise that she didn’t know about it. As she stood there, she knew she should be bothered, maybe even angry, but she didn’t feel that she had to admit, the fact that Spacewarp looked adorable in that form which also grew on her so to speak. So she wasn’t as bothered by it.
She turned her attention to the other femme and smiled at her. “Nice to meet you as well,” she told her. She loved telling people she was the offspring of Megatron, back home it opened doors, she got respect, and of course questions, like what was her father like when she was alone. It was a shock to see Megatron alive and well, but the reason she stopped herself, because she didn’t remember whether he liked the idea that he had an offspring or not.
Silentsky soon asked that question, and she saw Spacewarp fly up, which she couldn’t help but find adorable, but she chose not to say this. “Yes, we both are, though I guess its OK to tell you, back home, my creator…was Megatron” she told her and awaited her reaction. She couldn’t help but think back to Cybertron. “I have to agree, its surprising to see it look like that,” she said to the two of them.
One set of armor after another…so the armor Silentsky knew, that she was use to, had not been Spacewarp’s only one. Then again, the thought hadn’t crossed her mind that maybe there had been multiple bodies her companion had gone through before she got to the point she was. Though, considering she also wasn’t entirely thinking everything through the night before and earlier that morning, it probably wouldn’t have until later. She was still amazed to even know Spacewarp was a load bearer.
Wait, were those wings? Silentsky’s jaw dropped a bit behind her face guard, once more not expecting such a thing from Spacewarp. And her adorable factor went way up the moment she saw them. ‘Forget drinks later, I’m so cuddling her later.’ Silentsky couldn’t help such a thought crossing her mind, restraining herself from having to say it out loud in front of Skyhook, her wings giving the faintest twitch instead. There was a never-ending surprise with Spacewarp, that much could be said. Though, as a precaution so the smaller Seeker wouldn’t fall from her shoulder, Silentsky gently but firmly placed a hand on the smaller femme’s hip.
Finally, her attention returned to their answers. Though Silentsky simply shook her head, “Envious of it? Spacewarp, it’s a dead husk. There is no guarantee we’ll ever be able to go back to it.” Silentsky told her in her usual emotionless tone, but there was a hint of skepticism of ever returning home. Though she perked up with slight interest at hearing Skyhook next, “Megatron was your creator? Huh, guess at least one of them has compassion enough to even consider having offspring.” Then again, after hearing the Starscream of their universe was actually a competent one, she wouldn’t be too surprised about what news would come from their universe. “Either way, I wouldn’t expect to get the royal treatment around here Skyhook, these Decepticons…they aren’t like the ones you knew.”
Perhaps Silentsky was being a little blunt about it, maybe even reacting differently than expected, but it was the truth. “But, I’ll be honest-your universe sounds more and more tempting than here. Like it would be worth being a Decepticon.” She murmured, giving a small hint that Silentsky herself had doubt about the cause.
