There were a lot of bad vibes flowing through the Nemesis hallways as Abominus walked past. Mostly the Vehicons, many of which having seen Predaking rampage through half the ship, were not too keen on his clone walking around unchallenged. Abominus didn't understand why they felt the way they did; he didn't present even the slightest danger to them! But he could if he wanted to. Still though, it was nice to actually walk around with legs; nice change of pace from floating in an energon soup. He was going places, alright. At the moment, his form was largely static. He hadn't grown another anomaly in at least six minutes, which gave him a fairly uniform appearance for the time being.
Then, one Vehicon in particular caught his optic. There wasn't anything special about them, but something inside of Abominus told him it was time. He leisurely held out his massive arm to whack the poor drone as they passed each other in the hall. The force of the Predacon's impact was enough to drop the Vehicon in an instant. Abominus knelt down to press his hand atop their chest, holding them down. As they flailed helplessly, he watched. Even through the tinted visor he could see it; he understood what fear was, what his name and very presence was supposed to inspire.
Something else took hold of Abominus. His yellow optics dilated in response to the signals his body was relaying to his head. It was time. Without regard to the small crowd now watching him, Abominus began to open his mouth.
Ser-ket had felt a need to better know the layout of the ship she had come to reside on. Ever since she had left her icy prison, fully dethawed, and slowly integrated back among her kind she hadn’t really had a chance to explore the great warship. It also didn’t help many seemed to avoid her like the plague.
At first, she had not understood the need for weariness, curiously inquiring around to those willing to answer. It appeared she had not been the only Predacon aboard the ship, one having rampaged about before and causing massive damage to the ship and crew. It must have been one of her Master’s creations no doubt, making Ser-ket strangely giddy at the prospect of seeing another of the majestic beasts, one that had inspired her to undergo a full change to her frame to become one of them. In her quest to ask around however, she realized her error in not fully knowing the Nemesis and where everything was. So for now, her excitement at looking for a fellow Predacon has taken to the back burner as she explored, until a commotion caught her attention.
Drawn to the stunned crowd, Ser-ket pushed her way through the Vehicons in her dragon mode, snarling at a few who quickly scrambled aside. The last thing they wanted was to be at the hands of an angered Predacon again. Finally, the femme hybrid found herself at the front row, looking in surprise and awe to see yet another Predacon, probably new from the looks of him. Surely this had to be Shockwave’s doing! Excitement resurfacing, she inched around to see what he was doing, seeing his fangs coming closer to the Vehicon. Perhaps he was much like her, requiring vampirism to function to some extent. Yes, he must be new indeed. His technique was...off, sloppy to an extent.
Where she should have felt revolted at the act of another Cybertronian feeding on one of their own she was actually delighted. Stepping forward she placed her tail-claw on his shoulder, indicating for Abominus to stop. “Wait, you’re going for the wrong area. Keep a hold of the chest like you are now, but you want to go for one of the soft, weak spots; I recommend the neck since it’s a major soft spot and energon lines can be reached easier.” Ser-ket directed, moving her front paw to pin the Vehicon’s face down to floor, claws flexing in warning to remain still if he did not wish to have his helm crushed, “Make sure you hold the head down firmly, keeps the neck exposed and keeps them from squirming too much.”
Ser-ket was strangely enthused to teach such a lesson, having done this numerous times herself through trial and error. “Once you have a firm grip just lean down and bite, the energy is there for your taking.” She did not know Abominus, hadn’t even asked for a name. She had dove right in, eager to teach one of her brethren what it meant to be a proper Predacon and energy vampire.
Abominus reacted rather calmly to having his shoulder grabbed from behind. He was nothing if not sociable. He shut his trap to turn his head to the new arrival, most assuredly some sort of Predacon much like himself. She seemed to be very well versed in energy draining, speaking about it almost as if it were an art. The femme's advice only intrigued Abominus even more; he wanted to learn how to be the absolute best at energy draining! Silently, his optics turned to regard the still-restrained Vehicon, slowly scanning over the areas the Predacon beside him had marked.
She was obviously much more learned than he, and to Abominus, that meant she held a position of authority between them. Since she had so graciously prepared him a feast, the clone decided it was now time to enjoy himself. As he opened his mouth once again, his lower jaw abruptly split open up the middle, revealing an even sharper set of glowing pincers. To top off the display, a snake-like appendage slid out from the depths of Abominus's throat, complete with a set of razor-sharp needles and claws jutting out from the end. He stabbed them all into the Vehicon's neck, slowly feeling the struggling sensation beneath his massive hand subside.
Only a handful of moments had passed by the time the Vehicon's lifeless frame lay still and colorless on the floor below. The Predacon shot straight up from the floor, happily letting out a monstrous howl that resonated through the walls themselves. Without warning, a pair of wings suddenly formed atop his back, stretching out to reveal a generous wingspan. To anyone else, the Vehicon was but a midnight snack; but to Abominus, it felt like the first and greatest thing he'd ever eaten.
Realizing the massive scene was causing, Abominus took pause to shutter his newfound wings and close up his jaw. He felt proud of what he'd done, regardless; it was what he'd been designed to do, after all. As the Vehicon crowd cautiously dispersed, Abominus turned to face his teacher in earnest. "Wow, that was a real RUSH!" he started, very enthusiastically, "I've never felt anything like that before... but I'm new, so, you know!"
He'd never felt much of anything before today, so this was a good starting point.
This new Predacon, he was surprisingly calm upon her stopping him, which was a good sign. And he seemed rather attentive as well, listening intently to her words and advice of how to properly drain the Vehicon of its precious energy.
Ser-ket watched carefully, figuring she could observe his technique still. The first time wasn't always the easiest and could be a little messy, but that was what learning was made for. But even she was caught by surprise at the split down the jaw, revealing a much different sort of draining mechanism than she was expecting. Nevertheless, she watched with deep fascination as Abominus drained the vehicon in one of the most unusual ways she had ever seen in her function. 'This one will be unique. A fine addition to the Predacons.' She thought with pride, beginning to circle Abominus to have a better look at him.
He seemed sturdy and powerful, a Predacon that was worth being feared and given a wide area to avoid if someone wasn't careful. But she stepped back suddenly, but not from Abominus' random roar. No, it was from the wings that appeared from no where, having not seen them moments before he had finished his feeding. Did his armor have adaptive and alternating properties? Truly fascinating indeed. Shockwave and no doubt Megatron had put much thought and time into this particular specimen, making him quite the worthy asset to their cause and one Ser-ket looked forward to teaching.
"You can call me Ser-ket." Ser-ket introduced herself, growling as she transformed to her robot mode, finishing in her examination of Abominus to come stand in front of the much larger Predacon. "And judging by your reactions you are quite new to all this, perhaps fresh out of the lab no doubt." Ser-ket could be wrong, but it was clear this mech before her had not experienced much, and was undoubtedly young to an extent. "What about you?"
Abominus looked on in awe as Ser-ket transformed, admiring the smooth transition between modes, something he had not yet mastered. He felt too 'jumbly' inside to mimic such an elegant technique. But was it that obvious? That through their limited interaction, she could determine that he had been recently birthed? Abominus didn't know much, but what he did know, was that he didn't know much. Whether she knew it or not yet, he needed Ser-ket.
"What about me? They called me Abominus." he replied, doing his absolute best to smile without a proper mouth. "They told me I was cloned from something called a 'Predaking'. I don't know what that is, yet. Was it something like this?" As if on command, parts of the Predacon's anatomy shifted once more. His plantigrade legs had been suddenly become digitigrade, his arms now had a second elbow, and a set of tentacles now sprang out from both sides of his torso; his wings however, had completely vanished.
"You seem to know an awful lot more about me than I do; you knew I could feed! Why is that?"
Predaking? Ser-ket was actually confused by the name, never having heard of this other Predacon before until now. Certainly there had been quite a few things new Decepticons like herself had missed out on, but she could do some looking into it later on. Just something else to add to her list of things to look into.
Abominus changing his appearance though had Ser-ket watching with awe once more, amazed he could do such a thing. She couldn't help wondering what Shockwave had done with this specimen, to make Abominus so different and unique from not only the rest of their Predacon brethren but any Decepticon as well. "I'm afraid I cannot answer that Abominus, I have never met this Predaking myself. To be honest, I'm new around the Nemesis myself, I just escaped my icy prison some weeks ago." Ser-ket told him, wishing she could be of better help.
But when turned to inquiring about her knowing he could feed, she couldn't help giving a small grin. "I knew because I do the exact same thing." She paused for a moment to consider her words before adding, "Well, not necessarily in the same way, but I am very much like you. I feed on the energy of others to give me a little boost and for weakening them. Especially considering half of my body's resources goes to generating my poison, it has served me well to keep me functioning normally." She explained.
"Fascinating..." he replied. Most everything was fascinating to his young mind, but this in particular struck a chord. Abominus could count off of one hand the number of people he'd met in his life, but none were like Ser-ket, a being so similar to himself that he just had to know more. Slowly, the tendrils extending from his torso withdrew themselves, and his dual elbows gradually fused themselves into a single point once more. His legs however, remained unchanged.
"A poison..." the beast echoed. "Much more efficient than brute force... conserves energy by immobilizing and agonizing the target... yess..."
Abominus's words were distant, as if he were simply thinking aloud. Then, they were given clarity. "Ser-ket, you must give me instruction... teach me how I might be a better Predacon!"
Ser-ket genuinely found it fascinating that Abominus seemed so eager to learn from her, someone who was not much different from any of the other Decepticons. Aside from her appearance and certain skills, she wasn't that interesting.
In fact, she felt it should be the exact opposite in her learning more about him. But given how new he seemed to the world and uncertain about things, it only made sense Ser-ket would take him under her wing. "Abominus, I believe this will be a learning experience for the both of us." She told him with a smile, enthusiastic about becoming a teacher towards the younger Predacon as Shockwave had been to her to some degree. Perhaps with a lot less emotion, but she had learned much from her master and this was the perfect opportunity to return the favor, especially to one of his newest specimens.
"Your alternating structure may give you a greater advantage though brother, maybe we should start working with that first." Ser-ket pointed out, curious if Abominus could take a beast mode like herself and other Predacons. If he could take on robot mode appearances, what were the chances he couldn't do the same for beast modes?
He had a teacher now. Good. Abominus flashed a toothy, albeit sinister grin. Not exactly his intent, but with his dental situation being what it was, he didn't have much choice. Abominus sucked up Ser-ket's words with a dutiful, enthusiastic attitude. His mind already spinning with new possibilities. She wanted him to find a defined shape first and foremost. A noble pursuit, if not for the fact that his biology had been constantly battling him on that same subject. Every fiber of his being had been roiling ceaselessly since the moment of his creation. It would have been maddening if Abominus wasn't already mad himself.
Regardless of the internal maelstrom he was currently experiencing, Abominus would give it his all, for Ser-ket. He was keeping the wings, though. Eager to get down to business, the Predacon attempted to transform himself manually this time. 'Turmoil' was perhaps the most appropriate word to describe the mess of limbs and cybertronian that was currently swirling on the floor before Ser-ket. Putting himself into a definite shape was more difficult than Abominus had anticipated, but nevertheless, he did it.
He was a bit messy, though.
Abominus stood on four legs before Ser-ket, wings folded neatly on his back. A set of razor-sharp claws adorned the end of each limb, although the strangest product of the transformation was his head. All three of them. A pair of six eyes regarded the rather baseline predacon that stood before them, all moving more or less independently of each other. On the plus side, he wasn't transforming randomly anymore.
A part of Ser-ket somewhat regretted prompting the young Predacon to attempt to transform.
The swirl of parts and limbs before her was strangely fascinating yet concerning, making the femme Predacon wonder if Abominus would be capable of taking a defined shape for a certain period. His form seemed in a constant flux of change, unstable even, making her wonder what sort of elements had gone into making Abominus. The only evident factor she could make out, or rather was distinctive of them all, was Predacon CNA, but the rest was a mystery to her. Any stability of such a formed seemed only partially based on Abominus's control, but other than that there was no clear control of such an unstable, constantly changing structure such as his.
Much to her relief though, the shifting mass was able to take on a more definite shape, allowing Ser-Ket to briefly inspect her new brother curiously. "Very impressive Abominus, I would say it suits you nicely." Ser-Ket spoke with approval, resting a hand on one of his shoulders. "I hope it is not a painful change however. It may take longer than I thought to help you learn how to take a defined shape if you were interested, or capable." She told him, clearly concerned yet fascinated at the same time. Shockwave had really outdone himself.
Stepping back, the femme shifted to her own beast mode, the change far more fluid and instant than what Abominus had tried. "But, that is what trial-and-error is for. Even if we cannot help you maintain a defined shape, your changing structure may yet allow me to teach you the ways of being a Predacon." She said with a tooth grin of her own. Teaching him the basics now could prove to be beneficial later down the road when he was truly put to the test.
