Player Alias: Jaxrond
Character Name: William Lennox
Allegiance: NEST/Autobots
Appearance Description:
Personality:
A no-nonsense soldier who enjoys having a good time but is usually found being fairly serious. His dedication to his men and his family is commendable. He's one who's willing to take risks, even life-threatening ones, to ensure victory. His skill as a soldier and commander has been commended numerous times and it certainly shows in his day to day activities. Lennox is an orderly individual who knows what he wants and how to get it, very rarely accepting 'no' for an answer. That said, he always behaves in a way that he believes is for the greater good. After all, in his mind, it's better to apologize later than ask for permission.
Strengths:
Combat: Lennox is a career military man, combat is his job. He's also one of the few humans to have actually faced down a Decepticon one on one and come out victorious.
Alien Knowledge: This is mostly combat related. Since becoming commander of NEST, he has learned a great deal about what makes the Cybertronians tick. Specifically, this has been done with combat in mind.
Autobot Connections: In his own universe, Lennox is one of the few humans that the Autobots trust. He's fought beside them through countless battles and they've gained his complete trust as well. He's one of their biggest advocates and there is literally no one he respects more than Optimus Prime. Plus, he and Ironhide are buddies where he comes from, which is a definite plus.
Leadership: Lennox understands military activity and how to command a group of men.
Weaknesses:
Family Man: Lennox has a wife and small daughter at home. Though he's willing to make the sacrificial play, they're always at the back of his mind. Even if he tries not to let them be, they're a liability.
Only Human: Lennox has grit, as anyone can see, and he's willing to take on the Decepticons head to head. But, he's just a human, and, that means that, compared to a Cybertronian, he's fragile.
Bullheaded: While that focused attitude usually serves him well, Lennox's lack of personal adaptability sometimes manifests as pure stubbornness, much to the annoyance of those around him.
Abilities:
Military Commander: As an officer, Lennox has a lot of experience and know-how in human military affairs.
Weapons Training: Lennox has training in a variety of weapons, though the good old fashioned semi-auto still suits him thus fine.
Commander of NEST: As the field commander of a top-secret division, Lennox has proved himself capable of organizing and executing joint missions with the Autobot task forces, as well as handling top-secret information.
Weaponry:
-Standard military-issue rifle, fitted to equip sabot rounds to melt through Cybertronian armor
-Standard military-issue knife
-Sidearm
-Whatever Ironhide saw fit to give him at any time they're in the field together
History:
Lennox comes from a long line of soldiers. It made sense that he would go into the military as well. He attended college after his training, emerging as a low-ranking officer. He served in the Middle East for a time, his sheer determination and natural leadership causing him to rise through the ranks quickly. Following his promotion to Captain, he was assigned to a special ops team that based out of the SOCCENT Forward Operations Base in Qatar. The team ran a number of successful missions until the Decepticon, Blackout, attacked the base. Lennox and his team, as well as a few select others, were the only survivors of the attack. They fled to a nearby village, pursued by Scorponok, who killed a number of other survivors on the way. At the village, Lennox and his team made a stand, finally contacting the Pentagon and calling for backup. The battle ended with a badly injured Scorponok fleeing the scene.
As the first known individuals to make contact with the Decepticons, Lennox and his men proved invaluable in the coming war. He unquestioningly allied himself with the Autobots, showing exceeding valor against their much stronger enemies. After their first battle together, and the dissolving of the government organization, Sector Seven, he headed the development of the Non-biological Extraterrestrial Species Treaty so that a working defense squad could be formed. Though it began as an American group, it was eventually expanded to allow for other nations to take part. Lennox remained at its head, eventually being given the rank of Colonel so that he could move more freely as the commander of NEST. His orders come directly from the Pentagon though, he has been granted quite a lot of free movement. In the field, he follows the directives of Autobot command.
NEST set up a number of bases world wide. It was during this founding process that Lennox began working closely with Agent William Fowler. Though the two sometimes disagree on certain issues, they share the common goal of doing what is best for Humanity and the Autobots, meaning that they both hope for the defeat of the Decepticons. While Fowler is more a political liaison, though, Lennox's activities remain strictly military.
Roleplay/Writing Sample:
Things had gotten...weird.
Different bots were showing up out of the blue, civilians kept stumbling into this war, Megatron was more active than ever before, and the 'Cons had larger numbers than previously. Not to mention, Jazz had betrayed them. All in all, it meant a shit-ton of paperwork for Lennox. Which was still better than getting shot at in the desert, but...It wasn't looking good for the home team.
The colonel sighed as he looked over the desolate landscape around the Autobots' new base. He personally would have preferred somewhere...not so close to a town, but, beggars can't be choosers. There were only so many U.S. owned places to hide giant-ass transforming aliens. He would advocate moving them to Diego Garcia, NEST's island base, but, that would mean uprooting them yet again and he doubted Ratchet would be cool with that. He'd seen the medic hurl wrenches and he had no desire to be on the receiving end.
The helicopter banked as it came in for a landing atop the hidden missile silo. Hopefully, things had been going well for the guys inside. He was hoping this would be a friendly visit.
