Player Alias: LianaWalter
Character Name: Barricade [Bayverse]
Allegiance: Neutral, former Decepticon
Appearance Description: Bi-Pedal Form and a Saleen S281 police car. Barricade stands at eighteen feet tall in his bi-pedal form and is made of sharp lines and angles. He has two pairs of red optics guarded by the metal that makes up his brow and facial structure. His optics are slightly sunken behind this guard to provide a less suitable target against his optics. His hands are claw tipped and nimble and are protected at the wrists behind the wheels of his vehicle form. His paint is usually black and white with hints of silver along his face and undercarriage. His chassis is narrow and squared with his spark chamber sunken slightly lower than the standard design. His alternate form was previously a black and white Saleen S281 police vehicle with “To punish and enslave” on the back left panel of his frame. Recently he's downgraded to a plain black Saleen Mustang of the same make and model with a white trim.
Personality: Harsh spoken and brutally honest, Barricade has always always been the sort to plow through anything blocking his path. Sometimes to his detriment. Slow to trust and fast to take offense, he often has a hard time dealing with multiple mechs at a time outside of battle. He's not very personable and lacks tact in normal conversation. He's a fairly gifted tactician, and enjoys matching wits with his enemies. He has a very odd sense of right and wrong, and his own code of honor that few people know about or acknowledge. He's loyal to a fault, but very rarely actually offers his loyalty to someone. He's a soldier to his spark, and does best while in battle. He's a ferocious opponent and a staunch ally should you be able to get him to that point. He's also extremely intelligent, though often hides this fact in order to learn more around those that speak absently around those they consider too stupid to know what it is they're talking about.
Barricade has little regard for most forms of life. Excluding certain mechs close to his spark he'd rather stand back and watch the world burn than save it. He doesn't see the problem with crushing organics especially if they get into his way, except that he detests the mess they make when they get splattered. In fact, since coming to Earth, he's developed a severe aversion to organic mess on his person. This aversion is almost to the point of a phobia. If one were to become close enough to him, they'd also discover that this mech is a very passionate and deeply devoted individual as well.
Strengths + Weaknesses: Barricade's strength lies in his ability to predict his opponents, to analyze them and strike fast and hard before they realize what's happening. He tends to distract them by taunting, criticizing, and demoralizing them so that they are thrown off by his big mouth. Sometimes he even uses himself as bait by taunting them into chasing him, often towards bigger and stronger guns. His tactics have gotten him into trouble many times, including nearly causing him to be permanently offlined.
Barricade has a hard time understanding why the Autobots interact with the human race so often and in such a friendly way, especially given his aversion to the splattered version of said humans. This means, to anyone that tries to talk to him that happens to be human, they are very likely to get swiped at if not outright stepped on. Or an attempt to step on them will be made, depending on how fast their guardian is in making him stop. Or if the human in question is smart enough and fast enough to get out of his way. He's also severely claustrophobic, a state that causes him to lash out blindly and even claw at the walls and floors until he either escapes the space or is released. This has proven to be one of the few truly effective ways of punishing him and keeping him in line.

History: Barricade's earliest memories place him in Praxus before moving to Iacon as a young mech freshly released form his carrier's primary protection. As a hunter class, he found himself well suited to the more violent profession of working within the Defense Force, serving under the command of the then High Protector Megatron. He reveled in his ability to succeed at whatever mission he was given, each mission sending him around the planet in pursuit of so-called “malcontents” who disagreed with the new way of things. Like many of his peers, he did this ruthlessly.
During the years of his service Barricade would go through several partners within his division, each one opting to transfer out of his sector so as to be reassigned. His temperament meant he was often too brusque, even harsh, on those that tried to provide him with a partner. It wasn't until later, when he was assigned to Frenzy, that he settled into a comfortable partnership. To date Frenzy is the one that knows him and his ways the best, as well as the one he considers to be his only true friend, and thus incapable of ever betraying him.
He, like many others during this time, was drawn to Megatron's sheer charismatic ability, his words about having things be equal, of everyone being ruled under one leadership, rather than the frisson of groups into two. As those that served in the Defense Force were often referred to as 'sub-standard models' this was something that greatly appealed to him. So when Megatron essentially declared war against the Science Division the ever ruthless Barricade was quick to follow. He was often sent on scouting missions, even deep recon in order to discover what their enemies were working on. This was done mostly under the radar, and proved that though lacking tact Barricade made a fairly decent spy when he had to be. Or, more specifically, his partner made a good spy and he tended to talk mechs in circles, providing a distraction. He would eventually be sent to attempt to eliminate Science Division leader Optimus. Though this mission quickly went south and they were forced to retreat and regroup back in Trypticon, it was shortly after this event that Megatron renamed them Decepticons. It would be a mark he wore proudly for many years to come.
After the failed attempt on Optimus the civil war between the Decepticons and Optimus' Autobots began. He was one of the Decepticons under Starscream's command that took part in the Battle of Tyger Pax, which was actually waged outside the city itself. While they were finishing off the last of the Autobot resistance, he amused himself by essentially using a fallen Autobot's head as a hacky sack. But their elation of victory quickly turned somber as they all witnessed the AllSpark being jettisoned into space. Megatron took off soon after in pursuit of the AllSpark, leaving Starscream in command of the Decepticon forces left behind with orders to destroy the remainder of the Autobot resistance in preparation for his return to Cybertron. When the Autobots left the planet shortly after Barricade was one of the ones chosen to by Starscream to go along with him aboard the Nemesis. Barricade would be the ship's primary pilot, ironic seeing as he was a land model serving under a flier.
He was confident in Megaton's ability to regain the AllSpark, and would constantly question Starscream's motives for following so swiftly after. This resulted in many confrontations between himself and the Air Commander. Barricade is a very vocal critic of Starscream's command, but is mostly willing to tolerate him and his leadership so long as it lead him towards finding their true leader.
After thousands of years of searching, the Nemesis crew would track the AllSpark's energy to Earth's solar system. The ship itself was left on Mars so that a recon team could continue on to the planet.
Barricade does recall landing on Earth, and that Megatron is alive, but at the present time is a Neutral due to desertion of the Decepticon Army. He doesn't know why he left, just that it was a very good reason and that he will not be returning to serving Megaron. He also keeps a very low profile from both sides for the most part, and will probably attack any Autobot on sight, unless he's given a very good reason to not. Barricade also has the sense, quite often, that something isn't the way it should be. Conflicting especially on rather or not Cybertron is still capable of sustaining life. He can't figure out the answer, though at times he tells himself yes and others no. The contradiction bothers him, but not enough for him to actually try and investigate the matter further.
Roleplay/Writing Samples:
He hurt. Oh, how he hurt....But it was a different sort of hurt. It was the kind of hurt that came more from inactivity than from actual injury. More sore than real pain.
This was the thought that brought him back online - the thing that helped him fight clear of the darkness that had settled into his processors. His systems started coming back online, one right after the other, and he ran internal diagnostics on each and every one as they came back up. Aside from needing a more decent recharge and possibly a little fuel, he was fully functional. With that finished he turned his sensors outward, checking his surroundings.
He was parked in an unfamiliar place with absolutely no idea as to how he'd gotten there. Several consoles flashed various pieces of information at him from across the room, but everything was almost eerily silent. There were only two fleshlings in the room, and they both seemed to be more interested in what was on the screens than on the stirring hunter in their midst. Good for him and lucky for them, since he wanted out of there more than he wanted to squish the whole lot of them.
Something felt just a little off, but he wasn't sure what it was. Making a quick check of his person gave him his answer. His doors were open, and several wires were trailing out from his front seat into the consoles the squishies were sitting at. It made him cringe to realize that they had actually had the nerve to touch him while he'd been healing. It didn't matter that they thought he was one of their police vehicles. He was seriously going to need a thorough wash after this was over. He hated smelling like organics, especially organics of the human variety. Stinky, disgusting creatures, the whole lot of them.
'What. The. Frag.' he hissed in his mind, forcing his initial reaction to the situation down so that he could get the heck out of there without drawing attention of the Autobot variety. As far as they were concerned he was dead - and he planned to continue letting them believe that.
After checking himself from nose to tail several times and concluding that he was devoid of all his previous injuries, Barricade started his engine, refraining from revving it in favor of making a quiet escape. He used a very quick push with his holoform to get the wires clear of his person before shutting the doors and getting out of there as fast as he could. He heard the humans come up to chase him for a few feet down the road, but they soon gave up as he quickly picked up speed.
