Player Alias: Kavac
Character Name: Spacewarp
Allegiance: Decepticons of Aurex 005.0 Kappa
Appearance Description:
Even in other universes, it still seems like Decepticons everywhere favor larger frames, especially ones that can fly. Spacewarp’s appearance exudes an aura of pride; broad shoulders, a confidant and focused posture, head always held high. The finer details of her features are complemented with a collection of hard angles and sharp edges, yet they are all kept in moderation; no aspect of her appearance says wild, or crazy. A pair of aircraft wings rest on her back, which only serves to increase her presence when un-transformed. In addition, the flier keeps a faceplate up to veil her mouth at all times, only removing it seldomly. She stands with a commanding presence at a healthy 34 feet tall, fitting for a bot of her disposition.
Spacewarp's outer armor is colored a mixture of black and Decepticon purple, with a splash of orange adorning her helm. In her base physical form, she is colored a bright shade of golden yellow, with splashes of blue dispersed between her plates. She transforms into an amalgamation of a Cybertronian starfighter, and an Earth-based aircraft.
Personality:
Time has tempered Spacewarp’s brash and fiery attitude somewhat, but certainly not completely; experience has taught her to control her headstrong nature well, even though it will occasionally shine out at times. The Decepticon will generally channel her pride into her work which in turn pushes herself to outdo her peers, even if it only ends up backfiring on her. With interpersonal situations she is business up front, party maybe somewhere. So long as there is a definite task at hand, the Decepticon will rarely deviate from it, placing a mission’s importance above that of the individual.
Outside of more serious military matters, Spacewarp’s brighter side is more noticeable. She lacks the hard mean-streak that most of her peers are quite fond of; where most other Decepticons would be happy enough to cause pain and distress to the Autobots, Spacewarp merely treats it as a profession to which she has no qualms with. After talking to her for a certain amount of time, she may even go so far as to open up more compassionately; as being a Decepticon is a job for her, it is also correct to assume that she needs a break every now and then as well.
Strengths + Weaknesses:
Strengths:
Loyalty - Being taken from the lower subsectors of Cybertron to an exciting career in the military by the Decepticons has made Spacewarp quite loyal to them. Though these Decepticons are both new and foreign to her, she would be more than willing to work with anyone bearing Megatron’s crest.
Willpower - A will to survive and thrive is what drives Spacewarp through harrowing situations.
Unyielding - Spacewarp's combat doctrine states that one must be able to take the same amount of pain they dish out; she follows this doctrine to the letter. Her ability to inflict pain is matched only by her ability to endure it.
Weaknesses:
Morality - While a strong code of morals would normally be a valuable strength to have, working under a bunch of morally reprehensible Decepticons nullifies that. She is bound by a code of honor and will only very rarely act against it. There will often come a time where Spacewarp outright refuses to follow an order simply because of how vile it is.
Pride - An arrogance learned during her days of racing on Cybertron has not faded with time, and is still painfully apparent to this day. Spacewarp considers herself to be the best, as far as her particular field of expertise is concerned. The scout will go out of her way to display her skills, and expects praise for them, warranted or not.
Abilities:
Expert Pilot - Spacewarp has millions of years of combat experience as a Seeker for the Decepticons under her belt, and it shows. Her arrogant personality demands that she employ bold and unorthodox tactics when engaging her targets, only adding to the danger presented.
Scout - In addition to her combat prowess, some of the Decepticon’s missions require her to be hands-off. She is capable of spying on ground targets at orbital heights accurately, and is capable of maintaining such altitudes for extended periods of time.
Hypermatter Phase Shifter - An invention from her home universe, the HPS enables Spacewarp to travel at speeds exceeding light, and is also responsible for landing her in the Prime Universe. Though she arrived with it, her HPS is currently in the possession of Shockwave to undergo extensive analysis.
Tactician - Spacewarp's brain is always on the move, searching for and simulating a variety of different outcomes to any given situation. She is a masterful tactician both on the air and on the ground.
Point One Percenter: Loadbearer - Spacewarp has a rare spark type, one that allows her body to accept additional modifications at will. It was her spark that allowed her to simply slip into a seeker frame when she was originally recruited into the Decepticons, though this ability had become one of her best-kept secrets.
Weaponry:
Graviton Cannon - Replacing her older beam cannon, Spacewarp's new primary weapon is a much more efficient and easily carried. The Graviton Cannon is a powerful particle-beam weapon capable of ripping apart its target on the atomic level, and is modular enough to be detached and mounted on its user's arm.
Ion Missiles - An arsenal of powerful fire-and-forget lock on missiles. Each of Spacewarp's missiles are extremely maneuverable in the air, and are even capable of being launched at targets directly behind her.
Lightstorm Laser Cannons - Spacewarp's auxiliary armament, a set of rapid-fire laser cannons designed to deliver the most punishment in the shortest period of time possible.
Energon Greatsword - A powerful sword with a current of energon running through it, there are few things Spacewarp's blade can't cut through.
History:
Before the cataclysmic temporal event known as the Convergence rent her home-universe asunder, Spacewarp was a part of her universe’s Decepticons based out of Cybertron. In the universe of Aurex 005.0 Kappa, Megatron had successfully managed to unite the divided people of Cybertron by uniting them against a common enemy: Unicron. Leading Cybertron’s naval forces under a Decepticon banner against the planet-sized world-eater, Megatron managed to mount a successful, albeit costly, campaign to destroy him and save his world. The newly dubbed Megatron Prime then proceeded to execute a secret systemic eradication of dissident elements on Cybertron, the most notable being the Autobots. Despite his almost total control over the people of Cybertron, Megatron was eventually destroyed by an Autobot strike team, casting the planet back down into the depths of war. As the war dragged on over millennia and the energon reserves of the planet depleted, both military and civilian assets were rerouted into searching the galaxy for any suitable sources of energon to rebuild Cybertron; Spacewarp was one of them.
The bot that would become Spacewarp was constructed cold in a mech frame under the name of Sunstreaker, along with their twin, Sideswipe. The pair would spend most of their time racing in Nyon's illegal undercity circuits as Autobots, winning prize money to pay for upgrades and alterations to their forms. As their exploits and fortunes grew they eventually both transitioned to female forms, which they both felt suited themselves better. Their exploits eventually drew the attention of Decepticon Air Command, already under pressure from Megatron to recruit more talented Seekers, authorized to reformat any hopefuls as well. Sunstreaker and Sideswipe were both considered prime candidates for the program together, though their personalities as individuals often clashed with the rest of the program; Sunstreaker was often too rebellious to submit to authority, and Sideswipe was far too 'soft' and compassionate to last long in the military. With the both of them playing off of each other's strengths and weaknesses however, it was believed they could reach a balance.
The twins were approached by recruiters and interviewed, though neither would join Air Command without the other. In the end, Sunstreaker's brash and fiery personality prompted her to respond with a hard no, to which Sideswipe went along with. Fate had other plans for the twins. Unicron arrived in orbit above Cybertron much earlier than expected, and was able to devour a sizable chunk of the planet before the Decepticons were able to activate the planetary defense grid to drive the chaos-bringer away. Sideswipe, having returned to Nyon ahead of Sunstreaker, perished in the ensuing destruction. Sunstreaker felt her twin's death instantly, and very nearly perished due to a catastrophic sparkattack. She ended up surviving the ordeal, where as her sister did not.
After making a recovery, Sunstreaker signed up as a Decepticon without any more hesitation. She was voluntarily reformatted into a Seeker's form, forsaking her old name for one more fitting of her new body: Spacewarp. Though her initial attempts at learning to fly were met with more than a few crash landings, Spacewarp eventually gained a viscous command of the air. Going on to fly in Cobalt Squadron under a talented officer named Starscream, Spacewarp first saw action against Unicron and his hordes at the defense of Eukaris and Combatron, where the Decepticon's newly reinforced air forces decimated scores of enemy drone craft while civilian vessels evacuated.
At the cost of a few colonies, Unicron was eventually defeated by Megatron and his Decepticons at the Second Battle of Cybertron. The chaos-bringer's defeat left the Decepticons in complete control of the planet, save for the resistance being mounted by the growing Autobot movement. Over the next several thousand years a cold war would be fought between the two, with only Megatron's death at the hands of the Autobot leader forcing it to escalate. Spacewarp eventually met and fell in love with an army officer named Treadbolt, whose sparkling she carried. Their relationship was short lived, as Treadbolt took a bolt through the brain module while fighting on Gigantion. Spacewarp, now widowed, raised their sparkling Airwalker, alone. Her growing responsibilities within the Decepticon Navy forced her to take longer and longer absences from raising her child, which she would lament almost daily.
Spacewarp eventually rose to the rank of Air Captain, leading an attack wing of Seekers against Autobot assets closer to home. By the time the Autobots themselves presented a minuscule threat, Cybertron and her colonies were practically drained of energon. Shockwave, the Decepticon's chief researcher, outfitted the Seekers with experimental phase shifters aimed to take them to far away worlds in search of energon; Spacewarp was in charge of one of the larger survey groups, and often went on missions herself. Through a freak space-time rift, her HPS carried her out of her dimension entirely. She managed to emerge in the Prime Universe, not before violently crashing down on Earth.
Roleplay/Writing Sample:
The soundless expanse of space was briefly broken as a single shape shredded through the silence, moving along at an absurd speed. Spacewarp would have killed to have some form of company on these scouting assignments. As fun as it was to almost split space in half at such an incredible speed, it was also ultimately the most dull part of her trip. No interaction, no change in behavior, no nothing for lightyears at a time; it was mind numbingly boring. As fun as having a conversation with herself sounded, Spacewarp wasn’t in the mood to try. Or maybe she enjoyed the silence, however boring it may have been. It wasn’t the artillery choked skies of Cybertron, that was for sure. The Decepticon couldn’t decide which she was happier to fill her time with, be it sound or silence. A single red blip suddenly flickered to life on her heads up display, which quickly expanded to a cloud-like shape. The seasoned scout’s first instinct was that it was a nebula as her display was giving her a similar reading to one, or it was at least trying to. Pulling her nose up at a sharp angle, she tried to gain some height on the incoming field. But despite the measures taken, the red field on her scanners persisted. She tried again, veering hard to the left; the field hadn’t changed position at all, in fact it continued to get closer. Whatever this… thing was, at her current speed she’d either find out what it was, or slam straight into it rather soon. The inevitable hit her suddenly as ribbons of energy began to cascade over Spacewarp’s form, feeling as if they were echoing in her very spark. A slight panic overtook the Decepticon as she soon realized that her scanner had gone dead, and that she was unable to change direction, slow down, or do anything really. Abruptly, the stars streaking like lines of light beside her vanished, enshrouding the Cybertronian in an unnatural darkness. For the first time in her life, she was utterly terrified in every sense of the word, for what was to come next.
