Character Name:
Override [Canon]
Allegiance:
Velocitronians, Autobots
Appearance Description:
Like all Velocitronians, Override sports a sleek and aerodynamic frame, perfect for pushing herself to the limits during a race. A generous application of bright red and white colors adorn the majority of the racer's body, with two white racing stripes displayed most prominently. Apart from her armor plating, Override's "skin" so to speak is a shade of soft gold complemented by a pair of star-bright blue eyes. Her most distinguishing feature in robot mode would be her helmet, more specifically the two sharp and pointed fins angled behind her. After venturing to Earth through Velocitron's repaired spacebridge, Override found herself surrounded by a wide variety of potential forms to take to disguise her presence on Earth, but settled for that of a red Ford GT40, if only for the fact that it reminded her of her original form.
Personality:
The bot who would eventually become leader of Velocitron was once a headstrong, slightly selfish, and occasionally short sighted racer by the name of Override. A constant hunger for a challenge coupled with a never give up attitude produced one of the most daring and death-defying Velocitronians to ever win the Speedia 500, a pair of traits which have stuck with Override throughout her tenure as leader. While she might always be searching for either a fight or a race, Override is a compassionate and thoughtful bot at heart. By Velocitronian standards, she is extremely patient and level headed, which lends itself to the leadership role quite nicely considering most Velocitronians are high-strung fast talkers.
Having her planet struggle through a civil war for a number of years has not hardened Override's exterior, rather her interior. It would be unwise to mistake the speedster's kindness for softness, as she is more than tough enough to handle anything thrown at her. She will still keep her attitude and outlook in check with the current situation though, knowing when the time for a bit of light-hearted racing or competition has passed. Override's sterner side reflects the trials and tribulations she's been put through, both as an individual, and as a leader; you're more likely to hurt yourself when throwing a punch at her, in metaphorical terms.
Strengths + Weaknesses:
Compassionate - A compassionate heart is one of the more useful skills one can have when leading a planet-wide civilization, even if in Override's case that skill was learned. After learning the burdens of responsibility, Override strives to be the best leader that Velocitron could ever ask for, even if it means putting the hopes and dreams of others before those of herself.
Cunning - Tactful as she is fast, Override has won many a race to opponents who've perceived her to be just another speed-lover; she will adapt to any situation thrown at her, and thrive while doing it.
Short Sighted - The hard-headed pursuit of material and personal success has plagued her all throughout her life, even to this day. Through all that caring and cunning exterior, there will always be some shred of her spark that yearns to face danger head-on with no reservations, although to Override's credit she is able to maintain this urge, most of the time.
Proud - Being the fastest racer on Velocitron, and quite possibly the fasted four-wheeled transformer in the universe tends to make one proud of their skills; numerous younger Velocitronian racers singing her praises and dedicating races to her have done nothing to deflate Override's over-pride.
Brave - Override's headstrong and caring nature creates a deep-rooted sense of bravery within her, as she'd rather disassemble herself than back away from danger, regardless of the size of the threat.
Abilities:
SPEED, GLORIOUS SPEED - There is nothing more important than the wheel and the road to Velocitronians, and Override takes it to the next level. Regardless of whatever shape, whatever form she takes, the red and white speedster is always the fastest thing on the road; she made sure of it upon coming to Earth for the first time, as one of her first acts as Velocitronian ambassador was shattering the current land-speed record.
Body Mods - Every racer who takes to the road on Velocitron will modify themselves at some point, be it to shave off a few seconds on the timer, or to dominate the track itself. Override's own modifications are extensive, which include: GravMag Tires, Muon Acceleration Jets, Tow-cables, and a reinforced lightweight frame.
Battle Prowess - When civil war came to Velocitron, Override found her naturally quick reflexes and mind adapted seemlessly to the battlefield just as well as the racetrack. She is a gifted fighter both armed and unarmed, and retains a great deal of her speed even when untransformed.
Maneuverability - Speed, while certainly most things, is not everything. The ability to turn corners faster, make longer jumps, and weave through dozens of other racers is the next best thing, especially to Override. Her frame allows her to sustain a ludicrous level of speed as well as a ruthless level of maneuverability.
Leadership - While it only became apparent with the passage of time, Override possesses a talent for leadership. While her capacity to lead others is often her least bragged about trait, those she leads would argue that her top-speed is nothing compared to her ability to inspire hope in others.
Weaponry:
Double Barreled Shatter Gun - A twin-barreled rail gun-like weapon, Override's Shatter Gun is designed to fire a set of two projectiles at a time from one barrel each. The Shatter Gun's projectiles are typically those of the metal alloy variety at extremely high speeds, which were capable of inflicting massive amounts of kinetic damage. The weapon itself possesses excellent range and accuracy, not to mention a comfortable ease of use, as the weapon's kickback is perfectly manageable for someone of Override's size. The weapon gains its namesake for its ability to shatter both energy shields and armor plating with ease.
Twin Energon Hatchets - When the going gets tough, a pair of hatchets with a strong current of Energon running through them gets the job done. These red-hot weapons solve most of Override's up close and personal problems, and ruin the day of any foes foolish enough to get too close to the racer.
Pulse Cannons - While her Shatter Gun remains her most damaging weapon, Override still retains a set of rapid-fire pulse cannons that she often uses as backups in both vehicle and robot modes.
History:
For as long as Override can remember, she has been obsessed with speed, a common condition of Velocitronians both young and old. Rather than taking the 'faster' path to purchasing a racing frame for herself through working in Velocitron's mines, Override took the more challenging one; she would take her unaltered frame to whatever race she could find to win enough scrap to warrant an upgrade. For years she would finish in last place, sometimes even minutes behind the bot in front of her, much to her shame. Undaunted by her numerous failures, she continued until she could afford her very first upgrade, which ended up as a set of simple maneuvering flaps. Then one day, she did it: she finished seventh out of ten, in a race consisting of bots only marginally faster than her; but for once, Override hadn't outright lost. Her successes were few and far between, although as both time and her upgrades progressed they would grow more and more frequent: sixth, fifth, fourth, third, second, and finally, first. Having finally completed the lowest tiered circuit on Velocitron, Override continued her hard-fought trend of race and repeat while both her skills and prowess evolved.
After having raced her way to the top post-innumerable failures, the red and white racer had found her way into the Speedia 500, the race to determine who would rule Velocitron. With both her upgrades and talent, Override managed to win; in a tie. A little two-wheeled bot named Ransack, who had only been allowed to compete as part of an experiment, had also managed to race his way to the top. A tie in the Speedia 500 was completely unheard of in all of Velocitronian history, and as such both Override and Ransack were crowned leader, jointly. Around the same time, the Autobot Arc emerged from a spacebridge, having just escaped Cybertron. Optimus Prime met with both leaders of the planet, although he found that his ethos matched more with Override than Ransack, who himself exhibited several Decepticon tenancies. The addition of a Decepticon infiltrator amidst the Autobot ranks, and the promise of Megatron's imminent arrival spurred Ransack to incite a civil war to proclaim himself as Velocitron's sole leader. Override and her faction would pledge allegiance to the Autobot cause in return, and in the end supplied the Arc with repairs sufficient for her to make the journey to Earth. As Optimus and the Autobots left Velocitron it became painfully apparent that Override's faction was much better off in the war, and felt that the fate of the planet was in the right hands. Optimus's trust was well placed in the end, as Override and her faction successfully defeated Ransack's forces, although at a cost. Velocitron now faced an impending resource shortage much like her parent world of Cybertron had only a few years prior. Only very recently has an Autobot expedition confirmed that the Velocitronians still function, and that Override continued to hold the position of leader of Velocitron, albeit alone now. At Override's request the Autobots managed to install and activate a proper spacebridge link to both Cybertron and Earth from Velocitron, once again connecting the colony with her mother world. In the past few weeks Override has ventured to Earth to lend assistance to Optimus Prime and the Autobots in their ongoing war against the Decepticons, as well as to investigate the sudden increase of space-time ripples that were brought about by the Convergence, lest they threaten Velocitron and her people.
