Cyberwarp honestly did not believe it could get much worse than Cyclonus.
She was proven wrong the moment Aerobolt laid optics on her. One look and she knew the Mini-Con immediately. Not by name, but it was a figure she'd never forget. How should she? This had been one of the several Mini-Cons that had been experimented on; Altered by her crew. "I.."
The femme took one step backwards with widened optics, so much going on in her processor right now as her helm shook slowly in disbelief, words failing her. To say she had been experiencing an internal panic was quite the understatement. The one mech she had been trying to get away from.. and one of the Mini-Cons that had been experimented on.. all on the same planet. How could this even be happening..?! Cyberwarp had come extremely close to turning tail and fleeing at that moment, but her friend's words helped to ground her.
Even with all of that, not even knowing the full details.. Wing was still on her side.
It took every ounce of willpower to calm even the slightest, looking back and forth between Aerobolt and Cyclonus, listening as the latter spoke up. His words stunned the former Decepticon as she tried to make sense of it all. How did he not know her? What had happened to Cyclonus, and was it something she should be grateful for..?
For once Arerobolt couldn’t hold back his rage, especially for someone defending someone like her. “Have you got your processor wires crossed samurai bot? This femme,” Aerobolt nodded sharply towards Cyberwarp, who seemed to be backing up now, appearing overwhelmed. “was one of the ones who experimented on myself and a handful of other Mini-cons. And that’s just scratching the surface of what her crew has done!”
But upon hearing Cyclonus ask such a question, Aerobolt couldn’t help starting at the purple mech in shock. Surely his appearance had changed, but how could he forget who Cyberwarp was? Hadn’t they been on the same team for years as a combiner? The avianoid wasn’t sure what to make of that, it hardly seemed his concern. No, Cyberwarp was his primary concern, giving the femme a side long glare for a moment, observing her reactions far more closely. He was just as surprised to see she seemed almost in a panic. Was this white and red mech’s faith in her justified and he was just overreacting?
Granted, his anger was not unjustified for what had happened all those years ago. His trust was thin and he found it incredibly difficult not to be skeptical of such individuals. But, perhaps he could pull back the throttle and take this from a different angle, “My apologies.” Aerobolt signed, hovering in place and dipping his head in apology towards Cyberwarp. “It is difficult not to forget what you and your crew did to me and the rest of the Weaponizers. Even if you have changed, it will take much to convince me you’re a changed bot.” Unlike Wing here, Aerobolt was going to be ever cautious when it came to the two former Decepticons.
But once more, movement drew his attention, Aerobolt turning on the spot to face where he has seen the other visitor. “So you were the one lurking before, welcome to the...party.” The mini-con didn’t know what to call this weird meeting, something out of coincidental mishaps really. But seeing Stardrive now he realized those spikes were less noticeable than before, causing him to frown in wonder.
Deadlock remained hidden away, simply watching things transpire. No need to make himself known to folks who may or may not recognize who he was. Sure, he needed help. He needed it desperately at this point. Who was to say they wouldn't just offline him, though? He couldn't take that chance - rather, he didn't want to take that chance.
Scanners proved that these were bots he'd never met before, at least not knowingly. He felt somewhat safer with this information under his belt, but it still didn't make him feel confident enough to approach the situation. Any one of them could attack him for any number of transgressions, and he was in no shape to even put the effort in to defend himself.
There was one thing he hadn't planned for, though, and that was his systems beginning to finally overheat. His cooling fans clicked on, and the sound was much louder than he'd ever remembered it being. He tried to manually shut them down, but his mainframe refused to budge that it needed the cooling.
He was compromised, and he knew it. He could only hope they were too distracted with one another to notice it.
This was getting out of hand. Quickly. Wing kept himself in his relaxed, nonaggressive position. He was confident enough that he could go for his weapons quickly if needed. He didn't need to worry anyone by reaching for them now.
His lip components pressed into a thin line. He had known that Cyberwarp's past was likely checkered, but, he didn't focus on it. He believed that anyone could change. Anyone could be redeemed. And, as he had traveled with Cyberwarp, watching her go through what she had as she attempted to leave that past behind, he was confident that she had indeed changed.
"Be as that may, I believe that she is not the bot she once was," he said calmly, even his tone tranquilly nonaggressive, "I hope you'll come to see this, as I have."
A movement from the side startled him, his finials twitching, optics darting. Another femme. But...where had the mech gone? The one who had frightened Cyberwarp. He did not know, but, he did not like this sudden coming and going of so many new faces. He gave a wary nod.
"Greetings."
It was then that the whirring of fans reached his audials. He would not have heard them, had he not been so alert. Still, he did not point them out. Better to simply be aware and let the one to whom the sound belonged remain hidden and comfortable. An added presence could escalate the situation.
"Cyberwarp, are you alright?" he asked lowly, keeping himself positioned between her and the others.
Cyberwarp kept looking around, nervousness etched all over her face. The Mini-Con was telling Wing everything, and Primus knew how he was going to react to it all. Granted.. she had told him about the mind control and such, but never the experimentation that had been done on a select grouping of Mini-Cons.
Her optics fell on Aerobolt, but then to Wing as he once more defended her. He really put that much faith in her willingness to change, and that was considering they hadn't known each other all that long. It warmed her spark that he'd do something like that for her.
And with his words.. the Mini-Con almost seemed to be willing to give her a chance.
...Almost.
By the time the femme revealed herself, Cyberwarp had finally noticed that Cyclonus hadn't been among them any longer. The thought alone was enough to make her feel anxious. What if he really did remember her and was now well on his way to meet with Megatron?! What if it was all just to lower her guard even further..?
The ex-con snapped from her thoughts as Wing spoke to her. She sighed, stepping closer once again before just wrapping her arms around him from behind. "I'm.. not sure, but.. thank you." She stayed quiet a moment longer before optics returned to the Mini-Con. "Mini-Con, I... I don't even know your name.. I'm terribly sorry for the things my team and I did.. I would take it all back if I could.. I'm tired of fighting.. and just want peace for everyone.. I know my words may mean nothing to you right now, but please.. just know that I'm sorry and.. if there's anything I can do.. just tell me.."
Cyberwarp let her optics close as she released her hold on Wing. It had only just come to her attention that there were so many Cybertronians on this planet. Just what had brought the femme and the Mini-Con here? "Did.. you two.. come to this planet to retreat from the war?"
