Player Alias: McCoy
Character Name: Rodimus (MTMTE)
Allegiance: Autobot
Appearance Description:
Rodimus has the build of a speedster. While his root mode is slightly bulky, it facilitates transformation into a sleek Dodge Viper. His helm is adorned with accented crests, framing his facial plating. His facial plating is a base coated silver. His helm plating is red-based and has golden accents. Along his abdominal area, he has red biolights between the plating seams. When looking at his pelvic area, one would notice that there are exposed wires, minimally covered, connecting his legs to his pelvic plating. His pedes are split in the center, and are seemingly very large for his frame. On his shins, exhaust tubing is wrapped around them, giving them a strange appearance.
The primary color scheme that Rodimus has stuck with is red, orange, and yellow. The colors comprise a flame pattern on his chassis, which - in his alt mode - is his hood.
Roddy's vehicle mode is an altered Dodge Viper. Most Vipers do not feature a spoiler, and none feature one of the magnitude that his alt mode does. Height wise, he stands at about 10.2 meters (33.5ft) tall. He weighs around 3,395lbs.
Personality:
Generally, most consider Rodimus to be highly childish. He's brash and extremely headstrong, and this often leads him to making very split-second decisions which lead to bad outcomes. He is bold, and although he thinks himself very highly, it's a facade to hide that he really has no idea how to lead a crew. His arrogance is to offput his generally low self-esteem, however he believes that he may one day achieve the actually feeling of arrogance that he's striving for.
He's adventurous, and his longing to seek things out led the Lost Light to take it's maiden voyage in search of the Knights of Cybertron. Since its departure, the crew have been repeatedly faced with extremely difficult decisions, and Rodimus has struggled to make the decisions accordingly.
Strengths + Weaknesses:
Strengths
⦁ Arrogance
⦁ Overconfident
⦁ Proud
⦁ Unpredictable
⦁ Vain
Rodimus's overconfident and arrogant nature gives him the ego boost he requires to manage to keep his position as co-captain of the Lost Light. His pride in himself and also in his faction has been pivotal in keeping him aligned with the Autobots. His unpredictable nature makes it difficult for enemies to make attack plans as there is no guarantee as to how he'll handle any given situations. His vanity has proven useful to him in keeping his own self-esteem leveled, and giving him the confidence to keep going even when he thinks everyone else is against him.
Weaknesses
⦁ Arrogance
⦁ Callow
⦁ Overambitious
⦁ Overconfident
⦁ Reckless
⦁ Smart-ass
⦁ Theatrical
⦁ Unlucky
⦁ Vain
On the other hand, his weaknesses also include vanity and arrogance. Because Rodimus is so absorbed by himself, he is extremely susceptible to attacks on his person. Evidenced by the length of time when Thundercracker was aboard the Lost Light, Roddy's ego is extremely fragile, and it is an easy target for manipulation. Rodimus is reckless, and he is also extremely callow. These traits combined with his overambitious and overconfident attitude often lead him to fall into situations where he is in over his head. His theatrical nature causes him to be superfluous and to show off, and his smart-ass nature can lead to debate of whether he really should be in charge of the Lost Light or not.
Abilities:
Rodimus is in possession of an outlier spark that grants him the ability to summon flames. He cannot do it often, and in canon material has been noted to have only done so twice, however the ability does exist. He is also granted with a Matrix affinity, although in his universe this is useless as the Matrix of Leadership as been destroyed. He is charismatic, and this gives him persuasion skills. His unluckiness dissuades from him having positive outcomes very often.
Weaponry:
Rodimus is equipped with blasters in his mech mode. He is also capable of handling any blaster canons that are gifted to him. He is capable of weaponizing his outlier ability as well.
History:
Hot Rod was sparked and raised in the Cybertronian city-state of Nyon. Nyon was a blooming area, and was prosperous until Zeta Prime began using its citizens as fuel for his war machines. The Prime had begun to drain the citizens of Nyon of their energon as a means of powering his rule. Hot Rod sought to end it, and was forced to destroy the city to save its citizens. When war first broke out, he saw no point in factions because the violence would never stop. However, after witnessing Megatron order the assassination of Bumblebee, he realized that Megatron was no different than Zeta Prime, and quickly dictated himself as an Autobot.
On a mission to retrieve the Matrix of Leadership from Decepticon warlord Megatron and his second in command Starscream, Rodimus was tricked by the Decepticon-in-disguise Doubledealer. This betrayal led to Rodimus accidentally getting his entire team killed. Rodimus was able to retrieve the Matrix from Starscream, but he was shot moments later by Megatron. This shot killed him and sent him hurtling into space with the Matrix. The Matrix bonded with his spark and revived him.
After the Cybertronian war concluded, Rodimus mounted a journey to find the Knights of Cybertron, believing that they could restore Cybertron to its Golden Age. This trip would take place upon the ship that was given to him by the turncoat Drift. The Lost Light took her maiden voyage, and has gone through repeated trials for its crew. Its journey is a work in progress.
Roleplay/Writing Sample:
Rodimus wasn't exactly sure where he was supposed to be meeting up with Megatron. The captain had been entirely vague in terms of where he was supposed to be. He said he's be somewhere near Swerve's. Somewhere near, Rodimus thought, could this be any more difficult? It was like playing hide and seek with a former warlord, and to be frank, he didn't feel like doing that.
Nevertheless, he moved throughout the ship, making sure he said hello to whoever he passed on his way to the bar. He'd agreed when Megatron had said it was about time they discussed the state of affairs as far as the going ons on the ship went. Things had been in a state of chaos and disarray for some time now. It was about time they figured it out.
As he rounded the corner, Megatron came into sight. "Hey man, it's about fragging time I found you. Next time, you just come to me, huh?" he joked, shaking his helm. "You said you wanted to talk?"
