Player Alias: Kavac
Character Name: Abominus
Allegiance: Decepticons (Predacon)
Appearance Description: Abominus is a beast in every sense of the word, although that’s not to say he isn’t a mess, either. He is characterized by a set of broad shoulders and powerful limbs, much like his genetic template. The similarities between Abominus and Predaking end there, however. Abominus’s paint scheme is dominated by warm maroon tones, highlights of white, with the rest of his frame being largely black.
The smaller details of Abominus’s frame tend to shift from time to time. The sentient metal that he is comprised of will shift seemingly at random due to fluctuations in the Predacon’s unnatural spark. Sometimes he has wings, a tail, extra limbs, and sometimes not. His tendency to erratically shift his form is best reflected in his alt-mode, if one could call it that. Abominus transforms into what can best be described as a chimera.
Personality: Like his body, Abominus’s personality is something of a mess. A side effect of extensive genetic and mental rewriting while he was still a protoform, Abominus couldn’t be a further cry from the stoic warrior that Predaking was. He is utterly insane, hysterical and unpredictable. The price that Megatron had to pay for a Predaking that was absolutely loyal to him was to have that same Predaking be absolutely mental.
Some of Abominus’s flash learning appears to have worn away during his formation, and as a result he knows literally nothing. He is immensely curious about his surroundings and learns astonishingly fast for a Decepticon less than a year old. Abominus is equal parts sadist and masochist, and greatly enjoys taking pain on the same level that he can deliver it. He is consumed by a primal drive to fight stronger and stronger opponents, wanting to desperately find someone whose skills are superior.
Strengths + Weaknesses:
-Born Yesterday - Literally. Abominus has not a single preconceived notion about anything in his head. He is terribly inexperienced and needs desperately to learn just what he’s fighting for.
-Impressionable - He’s new to this. Anybody that gets some free time with Abominus is liable to influence his view on the world. Anybody.
???Wildcard - The only thing certain about Abominus is that he will follow every order Megatron gives with his own boy scout/samurai zeal. What he does on his own time is anybody’s guess.
+Terrifying Mind - Though his head might be empty now, it has a frightening amount of free space to boot. Abominus is built to learn from both his allies and enemies. His mind is constantly calculating new possibilities using information he gathers from his surroundings.
+Eager - Having just been born, Abominus is ready to get out there and explore the world! He’ll be happy to jump into new and scary situations at his own peril, because after all, everything is a learning experience.
Abilities:
The Loop - Abominus’s spark can be roughly described as a spark fractal constantly looping back and feeding upon itself, one comprised of Dark Energon at that. He is a living dynamo, constantly generating excess amounts of power that his body adapts to by randomly shifting parts of his anatomy. Abominus’s dark spark grants him unnatural strength and speed, although it might be a bit unstable.
Chimera - A byproduct of his rapidly shifting spark is a rapidly shifting anatomy. Like a true Chimera, Abominus appears to be comprised of a variety of different Cybertronian animals, although it is impossible for him to retain a constant form.
Terrorcon - While he is powered by dark energon akin to a Terrorcon, Abominus’s unique spark allows him to feed off of his own power in order to retain some semblance of mental control, unlike a proper Terrorcon. That being said, he retains the ability to feed off of the energon of his enemies like an undead horror.
Mass Displacement - Abominus is able to alter the mass of his alt-mode to grow to massive size, much like his predecessor.
Weaponry:
Claws - No Predacon is without their claws, and for a clone, Abominus is no exception. His servos and pedes all support some well-filed claws and talons.
Umbral Blade - A corrupted version of Predaking’s mighty Infernum Blade, the Umbral Blade crackles with a dark and volatile energy, much like its master. A massive sword that can effortlessly cleave through whatever Abominus puts its edge to, the Umbral Blade should not be treated lightly.
Blackstar Cannon - Created by transforming one of his limbs, Abominus’s main ranged weapon is a powerful beam cannon powered by dark energon. It is easily capable of burning through armor and shields, and tends to leave smoldering ash and fire in its wake.
Flame Breath - Abominus is able to spit jets of energized plasma from his mouth. He claims to be able to do it from his eye sockets, as well.
History: Using the research data gathered from both dark energon and Predacon experiments, the Decepticons sought to fill the void in their ranks left by the recent departure of Predaking. The end result would need to be a totally unstoppable and completely loyal Decepticon, in essence what Project Predacon was supposed to have accomplished in the first place. Major advances in spark generation and dark energon manipulation provided the catalyst for Project Abominus, allowing it to progress past the theoretical stage.
Over the next few years a protoform was grown in a secret subsection of the Nemesis, being subconsciously conditioned to obey the one and only leader of the Decepticons. Where Predaking had been grown according to a template, Abominus’s template was the problem itself. Not wanting to have a second super soldier go rogue, Megatron ordered the Abominus’s conscious mind rendered a blank slate, effectively leaving him with only a set of subconscious commands to rely on. This combined with a dark energon infusion which ravaged his mind, Abominus was rendered unstable if not loyal.
Abominus emerged from his tank as a blank, if not cracked, slate just a short time later.
Roleplay/Writing Sample:
“I wonder what being alive is like…” the unmind of the growing protoform thought, suspended in its vat of polymorphic shaping gel. It was a simple question that it felt should be answered soon, as it knew it was now capable of asking such a question in the first place. Just a few short days ago, it had been sitting in the tank as little more than a hunk of dead matter, with various signals and symbols being remotely pumped into it. And now it could think! And if it could think, it could learn!!! It was awfully excited about being able to learn; so excited in fact, that it had committed every conversation it had heard in the room to memory over the past few days. “I heard them mention an Abominus… he sounds scary, yet vaguely awesome,” the protoform thought again. “Megatron ordered the machines to create an Abominus from nothing. Am I Megatron? Am I Abominus?”
And then, he was.
Fluid time rapidly grew linear, as “Abominus” was suddenly Abominus. No longer a floating mass in a tank with a vague shape, he was now a large floating figure with a definite mass floating in a tank. He could still think, which was a plus. There wasn’t much to think about, as Abominus’s mind was strangely blank. But, he was a person now, that much was true; he knew what a person was, at least. They had arms and legs and brains, and talked to people. Could he talk? The Predacon raised his hand up to the glass separating him and the rest of the world. He waved, and said, “Hello!” Causing a stir among the Vehicons manning the consoles in front of him. Abominus wanted to meet them, to talk to them. He felt a massive urge to shatter the tank itself and lay claim to the world around him, and yet… there was something deep down inside of him, that told him not to. He hadn’t been asked to shatter the tank, and doing so would be impolite. The burning, churning sensation in his chest made an excellent case for busting free though, as that boiling hunger compelled him to feed. For the time being, he waited, watching as the Vehicons began making calls over the comms.
