Type I Armor
Shell based armor that focuses on larger plate armor and bulk to defeat shell and missile based munitions. These armors are the most varied in sizes and weight for different purposes. From the lightly armored for more mobility to the heaviest sets used in tanking and assaulting heavily fortified locations. Armor designs have smooth flat surfaces to reduce the amount of grip a shell/missile has to grip on the armor, reducing the effectiveness. It is also the most cost effective with less expense needed. Armies have been outfitted with Type I armor and is seen upon: Front line soldiers, Close Quarter Combatants, Aerial units and various specializations.
Type II Armor
Armor designed to withstand energy based attacks: heat/cold, laser, plasma and Energon. It is a weave structure that wraps around the body that carry: coolants, heating elements, shielding energy. This is to reduce the amount of damage done by a weapon who's purpose is to get around the thicker Type I armor. It is also a more costly armor set as it deals with more advanced weapons. This reduces the count of the armor sets on the battlefield but not too much to where it is a rarity. A side note of high flying Seekers is that they prefer this armor set due to ground based lasers being a major concern as opposed to ground based shell munitions as they have more direct counters to that.
Type III Armor
This armor set is a composite of bother Type I and II. This combines the best of both worlds yet has a greater cost per armor set. The results are arguably vouched for from the wearers. Yet each armor set has a slightly different ratio of Type I and II sets. This is in effect of the wearer's preferences for the jobs they do. Still, the level of protection is superb and is often seen in the upper ranks of military officials to keep their expertise from being lost in the battlefield.
