Player Alias:
Counterklock
Character Name:
Moonwing
Allegiance:
Decepticon (currently)
Appearance Description:
A heavy-hitting flyer-type warframe, Moonwing still is in her adolescence and is clearly lacking many of her later equipment and frame upgrades due to a shortage of resources. As a result, her armour and her primary flight thrusters are underdeveloped and she would not survive heavy combat nor be able to fly until her malnourishment is corrected. Her limbs are thick and her plating angular, with a broad but elegant helm that, in another time, would have denoted her future function as an officer. Compact wings angle out from her back and arch up, but the tips do not exceed the height of the peak of her helm. Her alternate mode is presumed to be a heavy fighter jet.
Currently, she stands at around six and a half metres tall, but will be over nine metres when fully grown. Her claws are elegantly sharpened. Her plating is silver with blue highlights, and her optics are a respectable Decepticon crimson.
Personality:
Incredibly young and yet to lose her wonder of the world, Moonwing is uncharacteristically friendly and social for a Decepticon (perhaps in part due to the fact that she has not been exposed to Decepticons and is ignorant of social norms and expectations), with a particular hunger for knowledge. As young minds often do, she constantly asks ‘What’s that?’ and ‘Why?’ and ‘How?’ and absorbs information like a sponge, and takes great pride in her ability to remember and then apply what she has learned in new situations. Moonwing has been known to chatter on endlessly about the things she has learned.
She thrives on praise, and often will work to gain that praise by attempting to impress whomever is around her with her knowledge and her few skills. That is not to say she is prideful; she is much more a people pleaser. When in a non-combative conflict, she thus has a tendency to try and placate before she resorts to violence - for she knows very well her odds of coming out the victor if things came to blows.
Being so very young as she is, Moonwing is also very naive of the world and of how things work, having lived her short life thus far in relative isolation. Her innate kindness and optimism, as well as an idealistic sense of honor, has not yet been ripped from her. She is very much a child that has been thrown into a war, and time will tell how she will come out of it.
Weaponry:
When she reaches adulthood, she will have in-built cannons and blasters.
Strengths + Flaws:
Moonwing has an eidetic memory. Her ability to remember knowledge isn't just a quirky talent, but a gift that is supplemented by a hunger for new information that eclipses a youth's natural curiosity. She is also very much a pacifist, and somehow still manages to hold on to that with an iron will despite everything she has been taught thus far as a Decepticon (despite it being a source of inner conflict). Finally, she has the tendency to see and believe in the good that is inside others, even if it might not be there.
As for weaknesses: She is still quite small for her age, and thus very physically weak. As stated above, Moonwing’s primary flight thrusters have not yet developed, and thus she is also flightless. She is untrained and knows little of how to defend herself (apart from how to point and shoot a blaster) and would be easily overcome by almost any enemy. She is dangerously naive and tends to trust anyone of authority without question; even despite her tendency to ask ‘Why?’, her abilities in critical thinking in social contexts and in being able to tell a lie from truth are severely lacking. She would be easily swayed into believing anything, if someone made a good enough case for why it made sense. As such, Moonwing is incredibly susceptible to indoctrination - which could be a boon to both the Decepticon and Autobot causes.
History:
Moonwing’s story is a relatively short one. The child of two Decepticon officers (one of whom offlined shortly after she was sparked), she lived alone with her surviving Creator - whom she only knew as ‘Creator’ and not by any other name - wandering the galaxy in a very old and damaged shuttle. Not knowing the name of her Creator did not bother her much, for she herself did not have a name proper; she was referred to as ‘Young One’ or ‘Scraplet’ and nothing else, for it was expected that she would eventually choose her own name and thus her own destiny.
They lived off scraps, stole energon when they could, and slowly travelled to rejoin the Decepticons proper. The lack of resources resulted in her growth becoming stunted, and the upgrades she would normally have received by her age did not occur. Still, the two of them made do, and continued their voyage. Without any sort of swift warp drive or space bridge technology, however, this was a slow journey.
During that time, her Creator emphasized how important her service and loyalty to the Decepticon Cause as well as to their Lord Megatron was. She owed Lord Megatron her unquestioning allegiance, and, when grown, would serve him with all her spark. Without proper socialization and exposure to any others, however, Lord Megatron and the Decepticon Cause were but distant abstract concepts in her young mind, and her Creator tended to indulge her innocent worldview, knowing that soon would come a time when she would have to set it aside.
This all changed when they finally arrived at the small backwater planet they had been summoned to. The shuttle, upon entry into the atmosphere, promptly began to fall apart, and the resulting fireball and crash landing was horrific and violent. Her Creator did not survive the impact. Moonwing survived, but barely.
