Player Alias: Foximus
Character Name: Spectron
Allegiance: Decepticon
Appearance Description:
Spectron is a big mech. While practically a newborn, he stands about as tall as the Decepticon Supreme commander. Speaking of Megatron, Spectron’s design imitates him by strapping his rail gun to his left arm instead of his right. His coloration is mostly navy blue with grey and black trim and blue biolights. His optics are also blue.
Personality: A newcomer to the Great War, Spectron has an intense thirst for knowledge. The quest for knowledge in all areas consumes him. However, from what he has already gleaned from observing the Decepticon ideology, Spectron deduced that individual worth could be assessed by individual improvement. To that end, he strives to better himself constantly and sees little worth in activities outside of the realm of self-improvement though he tries all things at least once to satisfy his innately voracious curiosity.
Aside from his passion for self-improvement and intellectual curiosity, Spectron can come across as rather aloof and distant and even a bit of a daydreamer though he does care quite a bit about his fellow Decepticon. He does not respect those who fail to even attempt to better themselves. He finds purpose in his function as a warrior and in bettering his overall utility as a Decepticon. However, the current state of the war is quite disturbing to him.
Strengths + Weaknesses: In addition to being both physically powerful and durable, Spectron possesses a keen intellect. In alternate mode, his speed tops out at about 49 mph, but in robot mode, Spectron is quite agile. His robot mode flight gives him speeds far greater than what his alternate mode offers him. Spectron is quite slow in alternate mode. His passion for self-improvement drives him as does what he’s been told about the valiant Decepticons.
His passion for self-improvement can tend toward obsessive, causing some friction with his compatriots. His curiosity is both blessing and curse as it can bite him badly as can his relative naiveté. He tends to believe what he’s told, take things at face value, and does not yet know how to lie very well. He tends to blurb out what he thinks without thinking and does so generally quite honestly.
What Spectron lacks in training, he makes up for in raw power. In strength and firepower, he excels. Unfortunately, he does not wield them with the most grace as of yet. He basically points and fires his rail gun and hopes that the huge blast damages his enemies. At close range, Spectron suffers. He’s unaccustomed to combat and does not take hits well. He’s also a touch uncoordinated with his lance.
Spectron is a fast learner and likes to question everything, including orders. While this quality is invaluable in a scholar, it is not so valuable in a Decepticon or a soldier. As a result, his curiosity will likely be taken as insubordination or petulance.
Weaponry: Possessing a rather robust alternate mode, a railgun tank, Spectron has a large amount of firepower at his disposal. In robot mode, the railgun of his tank mode mounts to his left arm and is capable of utilizing a variety of munitions. The two primary munitions are kinetic ballistic rounds and plasma rounds. However, he can and does utilize other types such as slag rounds, which pierces the outer armor with the shell and then melts the target from within via the chemicals that the shell contained, as the situation demands.
In addition to his ranged armament, Spectron is equipped with melee weaponry. His static lance harnesses electricity to stun foes on contact or send out a small electrical shockwave if thrown.
History: Spectron is a newborn, forged in a place that he doesn’t remember. As such, he does not have a great deal of past to remember. He does know that he does not hail from any of the colonies or Cybertron. Sent by someone or someones to Earth, he knows that he is a Decepticon. He knows of their doctrine, their noble cause. But not much else. Still, he wishes to be useful and have a place in the coming empire.
Implanted memories tell the history of Cybertron. It paints it all in a glorious light, the Decepticons as the heroes. The Golden age, the corruption of the senate, and Megatron’s righteous uprising against those who sought to oppress others based on alternate mode. And, of course, he was taught about the Autobots as well. The atrocities they committed during the war. It was all painted very black and white, so Spectron always wondered why the Autobots had done all of those horrid things.
