The kid was Elite Guard and yet fussed about having been assigned to guard Alpha Trion? Jazz wanted to laugh at his flippant words. Guarding old Alpha Trion had been an incredibly important job, but he could also understand Smokescreen’s evident desire to be where the action was. He perked up at the talk of a rather concrete promise of a party. “I’m down with that!” he agreed.
Of course, it was good to see that Ratchet was still as cranky and as crotchety as ever. He made a bit of a face before leaning towards Smokescreen in a conspiratorial manner. “Yo, I’m serious about that party. Ol’ Crankshaft over there ain’t the boss, an’ as far as I know, the boss has never said no t’havin’ a party, specially when morale is low.” With a wink, he added, “When we don’t have time for ‘frivolities’, we gotta make time. Gotta settle in with Prowler, but once I’m done that, I’m takin’ you up on the offer.”
He listened quietly to the list of bots that had apparently made it to Earth before them. Most names he knew, and there were a few that he didn’t, but that wasn’t so big of a deal as Jazz made friends quite easily. He did make a quiet sound of sadness at hearing of the loss of Cliffjumper -- Cliff had been one of his partners back in the War, and a good one at that. Luckily the news of Bumblebee leading his own team in order to recapture Decepticon inmates from a prison ship caught his attention quick. “Well, slag, this planet’s just crawlin’ with ‘Cons, ain’t it? Good on Bee, though! Maybe we’ll be able t’swing by and lend a hand.”
