Of course it wouldn't be that easy, Jetfire mused. Most of his shots had connected with the Decepticon, but still had little to no effect. It wasn't enough to deter him from his strategy, however; no matter what it took, he was going to keep Tarn's attention off of Arcee and Bumblebee. He would take as many attack runs as he could get, dutifully hammering away at the Decepticon's armor.
Jetfire held onto his remaining missiles, opting instead to save them for later. Once Tarn started firing back once more, the jet was forced on the defensive. None of his shots managed to connect with Jetfire, but they were effective at keeping him at a distance while increasing the time between strafing runs. In short, they were at a stalemate, but a stalemate that kept Tarn's focus divided and Jetfire's crystal clear. That would make all the difference.
He knew better than to engage any target at such a close range while he held the advantage of being a seeker, but a thought popped into Jetfire's head, spurred on partially due to his own curiosity. As he and Tarn exchanged more fire, he called over his comms. "Bumblebee, aren't you technically a combiner, now?"

Tarn transforming back into his vehicle form forced Arcee to switch tactic's in nanoseconds. Her blades retracted and her blasters were charged and humming as she continued her forward momentum. Blue optic's burned with determination as the femme stared at the Decepticon. The fire laid down had Arcee tucking and rolling to avoid being hit. She came back up on her feet quickly and opened fire again aiming at the scorch marks already made by her teammates. She didn't have the same level of fire power they did but that didn't mean she was useless. Her own attacks were relentless meant to keep larger enemies distracted by the constant barrage so the heavy hitters could come in and finish the job.
"We need to find a way to end this before heavier back up gets here." The femme warned her teammates. "I think the vehicon's have learned their lesson." She added noting that they had indeed backed off and she hoped they would stay that way.
Getting close to Tarn while he was in his tank form was too dangerous for the two wheeler so Arcee kept her distance focusing on keeping on the move and blasting away at the weaker points in Tarn's armor. As she dodged and twisted to avoid blaster and canon fire the femme found herself praying to Primus they got out of this. Despite her attempts not to care she had grown very fond of the human's that had become part of Team Prime. She had to survive to keep Jack safe as she had promised to do.

When Tarn aimed some of his smaller weapons towards him and Arcee, Bumblebee was immediately reacting by dodging and rolling. He could take a bit more damage than his two wheeled companion but that didn't mean he was looking to actually get hit anymore than he already had. The Vehicons had gotten in some hits, nothing serious of course but that didn't mean he would have to do some cleaning and get a few minor repairs later. Well, that was if they did get out of this with serious injury.
"::We'll find a way Arcee, we've faced foes similar to this guy, we can do it again.::" Bumblebee assured her over their coms, laying on some more blaster fire each time he got back on his feet. His aim was for the scorched and damaged areas, trying to break through those defenses Tarn's tank mode offered him. It might as well have been them trying to break through the thickest of walls, barely penetrating the deeper layers before they themselves would be worn out. This was just getting plain dangerous really, despite what Bumblebee tried to do to be reassuring. But that was when Jetfire made a comment he wasn't expecting.
"::Well, technically yes.::" Bumblebee confirmed with surprise. Well, Jetfire was certainly thorough as ever. Very few on the Autobots were aware Bumblebee and some of his team at the scrapyard had such a capability, and he had tried to keep it hidden for the time being since their attempts hadn't been all that successful recently. "::I almost want to go against the idea you're getting Jetfire since the combining process hasn't been exactly stable.::" Bumblebee admitted as he retracted a pair of his blasters and reached at his side to grab his Plasma Cannon, firing the more concentrated beam towards Tarn. But, the more he thought about it the more it seemed plausible they could get an advantage.
"::What the hell, lets give it a shot.::" Bumblebee finally spoke.

Tarn continued rolling and firing, his processor tracking their movements. The grounders would distract him, dealing minor, compounding damage as the flier used heavier weaponry. They were too fast for him to hit with his tank's guns, though, at the moment, he was too heavily armored for them to make quick work of.
He would have to move quickly, then.
Tarn transformed, moving in a roll as he did so. He came up on his pedes and charged forward, bringing his canon to bear and firing off a series of twin blasts at the grounders. His armor bore the scorch marks of their attempts to penetrate to the thinner layers beneath, but, he appeared not to have sustained more than superficial damage. He risked receiving much worse now, trading defense for speed as he rushed the yellow mech. The blue one would undoubtedly move to intercept, as she had previously. He would deal with her at that point. If he could remove these two from the equation, it would be just him and the flier, who he perceived to be the main threat.
A savage smile pulled at his lip components under his mask.
"I seem to remember the last Autobots I met being stronger than this!" he boomed, firing again, "Has your time spent with the organic insects made you lax?"
His voice did not carry its destructive power at the moment. He would wait for the opportune moment to use that. It had been a long time since he'd used it in a battle, and, in all honesty, he wasn't quite sure how effective it would be when he and his opponents were constantly moving about as they were.
