Marie clutched the disk close, just in case those accord thingies made him change his mind and take it back. Screw the rules, man! This was breaking ground in her field! She hadn't been this giddy since...she actually couldn't remember. It was like Christmas had come early.
The sickly girl's smile was an odd mix of joy and mischievous reassurance.
"Not a problem! Illegally learning an alien language probably isn't the worst thing I've had to hide."
She paused thinking for a minute.
"Actually, can I grab my laptop and set up in a corner in here? I can stay out of your way and...less of a likelihood of running into any judicial-looking cybertronians, right?" she grinned.

Jetfire carefully weighed the ramifications of his decision in his mind. On one hand, violating a well-established treaty, but on the other hand, lab assistant. He tapped his fingers together, brow scrunched, lips pursed. Marie did bring up a very valid point. It would be prudent to let her know that he'd already had his share of run-ins with some judicial-looking Cybertronians before. Then again, that judicial-looking Cybertronian was now the leader of the Autobots.
"Are you offering to be my lab assistant? Because I definitely can't have a human in here doing and contributing nothing productive." Jetfire wasn't quite sure what a linguistics expert could contribute to scientific work, but, what the hell. He pondered. "I don't think we have any human-sized furniture around... but, this used to be a missile silo, so I'd wager... maybe probably there's something floating around here for you to use.
"Don't ask for a labcoat, though. All of mine are much too big for you."

Marie was honestly expecting to be booted. Because, if her learning the alphabet was illegal in alien terms, it probably wasn't chill for her to be hanging out in an alien lab. But Jetfire was the only one, aside from Smokescreen, that didn't freak her the hell out. He was huge, yeah, but super chill and pretty easy to get along with thus far. Plus, he'd given her stuff.
Still, he seemed to be considering it. She looked up at him, waiting for his response. When it came, her eyes widened to the point that they nearly bugged out, her jaw dropping. Then, she did the only thing that a sane person would do in her position: a happy dance that mostly involved bouncing in one spot.
"Oh my god, yes! Definitely! Totally! If I could hug you, I would!" her voice was nearly a squeal. She hadn't been so childishly excited in a long time, "This is like...I don't even know. The coolest thing ever!" she laughed happily, "I'll see what I can dig up, okay? If I don't find anything, I'll bring a folding chair or something in the meantime."
Giddiness led to a giggle in response to his comment about the labcoat.
"Well, you're the biggest bot I've seen around here, so, yeah. If I really need one, though, I can get ahold of one. Just in case I accidentally set off one of those dangerous compounds you mentioned."
She settled with a pause, happy expression becoming a bit more serious.
"I honestly have no idea how much help I'll be. Science isn't my strong suit, and I'm like, tiny. But I'll do my best!"
