Characters: Dinobot/Autobots Location: Omega-1, Elevator room Content Warnings: N/A Plot Summary: Dinobot, after shaking off the Decepticon forces, has made his plans to find the Autobots. He has stalked an Autobot back to their base. Time to officially swap sides.
The elevator whirred down, the bot on its platform, Firster Aid, waiting patiently. Peculiarly, the platform came to a stop a bit before the actual bottom, leaving the hapless Autobot having to climb through the gap and hop down. "Huh, I'll have to get someone to check that out." and with that, he left.
Underneath the platform, Dinobot watched the mech leave with his unblinking raptor eyes, his detatched tail holding up the elevator. Dinobot transformed into his robot mode, hitting his head off the elevator platform and cursing under his breath because of it. Once he was in robot mode he grabbed his scabbard and jumped out of the elevator before it fell onto him, landing just in front of it. The Ex-Decepticon stood up straight, and with a single clawed digit etched one last line around his purple insignia, prying it off and throwing it to the ground. He then slowly put his scabbard on the ground and his hands in the air, waiting for an Autobot to arrive so he could announce his surrender. Surely one of them would arrive considering how many there were at this rate, right?
The sound of a set of clawed footsteps echoed through the halls, instead of what could be considered regular ones. A moment later and the source of the sound stepped into full view, down at the end of the corridor. The sound belonged to a quadrupedal beast, an obviously Cybertronian one, sporting wings and a set of over sized cannons. It turned to focus it's attention on the interloper standing in front of the elevator platform, regarding them with a pair of fierce blue optics. The lion growled.
Victory Leo was not the most composed Autobot, nor the most level-headed since his reformatting, and was even less balanced while he was succumbed to his alt-mode. The lion turned to begin marching down the hallway towards the unknown intruder, despite the fact that they were clearly surrendering. Their head was held low, predatory gaze scraping up and down Dinobot's somewhat strange form.
The lion's eyes stopped their investigation upon seeing the discarded insignia resting at their feet. Decepticon. Leo gave off a much more pronounced growl as his visage contorted into a snarl, before breaking off completely to transform. The creature pushed itself up to two feet from four, almost blocking out Dinobot's view of the hallway behind him. He regarded the supposed defector with the same harsh blue gaze as before, though it appeared to be much more collected.
"State your purpose here, Decepticon," he commanded.
Dinobot watched as Victory Leo prowled down the hallway. Huh, another beast mode. Interesting. He could tell by the time he spotted the Decepticon insignia on the ground that this wasn't going to be a warm welcome. As expected.
"My purpose is to surrender. I have renounced the Decepticons." Dinobot responded calmly. The Autobot who had found him seemed to be one of the more volatile ones, so Dinobot was careful not to give him a reason to attack. Although if he decided to anyway, he still had his eye beams sinc ehe doubted he could grab his sword in time. Wheter he was Grappler or Dinobot, he liked to be prepared.
He listened as Dinobot clarified his purpose. It wasn't good enough for him, though nothing ever really was. Victory Leo's eyes narrowed at the bot standing before him, not radiating hostility as much as disbelief. His admission seemed just a bit too good to be true to believe. Though the defector's intentions might've been clear, Leo was still clueless as to his motivations behind them. Nobody just left Megatron and the Decepticons out of the blue, not since the earliest days of the war.
He needed to know.
"Why?" the towering Autobot asked. It was a simple question that could've been interpreted in a number of ways. If Dinobot was smart, he'd have given Leo the answer he desperately needed.
"Several cycles ago me and several other Decepticons were chosen to partake in an experiment, an experiment to create a techno-organic warrior with all of the advantages of both forms. I was the only survivor. At one point they drilled into my neck and legs, drained me of all my energon and replaced it with a serum, then flooded the energon back in. I was on the brink of death and they watched. I left the Decepticons because they were not the movement I joined to stop the functionists, I left because they were a shell of their former self...Is that good enough?" Dinobot looked up at the larger Autobot with fire in his optic, his hand twitching and clenched.
Victory Leo was silent as Dinobot explained his situation. Though it was certainly an interesting tale, he had no way to verify it himself, at least not presently. So, the Autobot responded with an honest answer. "No, but you will follow me, regardless." He turned back the way he came, intent to reach the control room and hopefully someone who could deal with this situation in a higher capacity.
He never checked to see if his new friend followed behind, merely assuming that he was smart enough to follow the hulking Autobot lion-copter. Most people would've followed Victory Leo, anyway, but now was a good of a time as any to go ahead and test the new one.
After some thought, Dinobot picked up his scabbard and sword and followed the Autobot, kicking his insignia aside as he did. He was mad that the source of his strife and anger had been blown off by this jagoff with a pylon up his aft. However, if he wanted to join the Autobots, he was gonna have to play nice. He could insult the lion after he was an official Autobot. Maybe.
Victory Leo continued to lead through the halls, silently. His attention was immediately drawn toward what seemed to be an unremarkable door placed at the side of the hall. The Autobot regarded it carefully before turning his attention to his charge behind him. "This, is where we keep the sparklings... do not disturb them. Or I will rip you in half." Leo's words could've certainly been taken as a threat, though his tone betrayed just how calm and collected he really was. He wasn't truly composed however, it was simply naptime and he didn't have the heart to yell.
The tour picked up again as the former sector commander led the way, meeting minimal traffic along the route. He stopped again without warning, just short of the control room. Victory Leo was in the middle of experiencing a bout of self-control, so he opted to use it. The Autobot turned once again to regard Dinobot, his gaze flowing over the side of his wing. "Would you have left the Decepticons if they had not wronged you with an experiment?"
Dinobot followed Leo silently, mentally marking anything of note he spotted. He glanced at the sparkling room with slight disdain. "Don't worry, I wouldn't knowingly put myself within 10 feet of a sparkling." He muttered. When Leo shot that question Dinobot looked up, seemingly in thought. "Interesting question. The answer is...I don't know. I was...complacent with my position in the Decepticons. I didn't need to think or have opinions. I just needed to punch and slash anyone who crossed us. I didn't even know the DJD were real until I left, if you wanna know how low down the ladder I was. I didn't leave the Decepticons because they nearly left me die. That was merely a...catalyst that opened my eyes." Dinobot's head tilted further upwards, looking directly at Leo. "I cannot say truthfully that if I had not been experimented on that I would still be standing here...But I hope so."
Victory Leo listened along as Dinobot explained himself, halfway turning to open the door to the control room. And then he swiftly stopped. Just as the defector ultimately answered the question, his Autobot guide hit a second button on the door's control panel, abruptly slamming it shut. The walking lion faced the walking raptor, and nodded. "Follow me," he asked, moving back down the hallway they'd only just entered from.
The blindest of bots could've seen that Victory Leo was now walking with real fire in his step, a real purpose. He had intended to pass the defector off to someone more suitable, but given his responses, that individual was now him. His path led him to what appeared to be the sparring area, wide open and perfect for training.
Dinobot continued to follow Victory Leo, noting that he walked with more determination than more, that was worrying. It was even more worrying when he was brought to the sparring room. Perhaps the Decepticons and Autobots were more similar than he thought.
He immediately surveyed his surroundings in the same way he would survey a battlefield, preparing himself for a fight that may or may not happen. The Techno-Organic's hand gripped tighter on his blade. "This is probably a stupid question but...why did you bring me here?"
"You're right, it is a stupid question. I'm going to test your mettle." Victory Leo stopped at the far side of the room, turning back to face Dinobot. His eyes were burning bright blue like nobody had ever seen before, his gaze directed at the defector. Despite the sheer heat rolling off of him, Victory Leo was admittedly quite calm. Because it wasn't exactly Leo that stood before Dinobot.
It was Ginrai with a lion's heart.
"Simply opposing the Decepticons is not enough to make you an Autobot. I will show you what it truly means."
Victory Leo placed his dominant foot forward, and held his arms curled outwards by his sides. "You may use your sword; my... new body is not accustomed to the rhythm of swordplay, so I will refrain." Doing so, Leo's hands took the shape of a set of nasty-looking claws, ready to slash.
"Just wanted to...make it official." Dinobot was running at Victory Leo by the time he spoke again, his shield whirring up and his sword poised. There wasn't a snowball's chance in The Fallen's aft he needed permission from this slaghead to use his sword. When he was in striking distance he decided to open with an old favourite by faking a and instead dropping the sword, picking it up in an inverted grip as his shield bashed forward and was followed up with a slash.
The heat intensified as Dinobot drew closer. Victory Leo pulled one arm back, holding his clawed hand pointed at his opponent, held up over his head; he outstretched his offhand as well, altering his opening stance. He immediately countered the bash with an overhead punch from his main arm, bringing up his left arm to block the cut. The blade made a solid cut, though not a deep one.
Though the battle was raging and the fire was poised to burn brighter, Leo kept his head. He dipped, aiming to send his leg sweeping through Dinobot's. A spin came next, before Leo dropped his leg like a hammer to smash the space his opponent occupied.
