Player Alias: Overlord
Character Name: Starscream
Allegiance: Decepticons
Appearance Description: Starscream has a lean build that makes him almost seem scrawny. From the plating to his ribs to his chrome cranium, Starscream's features tend to be particularly angular and sharp. His facial structure particularly emphasizes the sneaky seeker's angular appearance, the expressions his face contorts together tend to be much more animated than many of his cohorts "When your competition is a cyclops and a mirror, you tend to earn such adequate statements of facial superiority" and often work in favor of his charisma. Starscream puts much more effort into his appearance than others, a very distinctive vanity which he his seconded only to Knock-Out, a vanity that ensures that his thin lanky wings are polished after even the smallest of scuffles, that ensures the chrome plating encasing his ribs are glossed to a sparkle, and ensures that on the fateful day he becomes master of the Decepticons, he'll proudly brandish both crown and cape as only the most stunning of regality don for their peasants. Overall, Starscream's appearance is reminiscent to that of the treacherous little garden snake that he is, slithering through life with little regard for what lies in it's path.
Starscream's alternate mode is that of a dark grey jet which retains Starscream's glossy platting. It's wings stretch long and far, and his three fins keep him aerodynamically stable as he glides through the air. The thruster at the jet's underside allows Starscream to reach speeds most Decepticons could only dream of. An unmanned cockpit lies at Starscream's front, and duel missile launchers are placed under Starscream's wings.
Personality: Starscream, perhaps the most cowardly decepticon in existence. When faced with the option of fight or flight, he will in the most literal definition, take flight. It's a trait which has garnished the scheming screamer a harsh reputation of being utterly unreliable amongst his peers. He is a well known sychophant among his Lord Megatron's ranks, and is not at all above grovelling at his feet. It's all a facade; however, as the cowardly wretch despises his temporary master, and wishes nothing less than to usurp his throne and spat at Megatron's beaten and battered corpse "All hail King Starscream! All hail King Starscream!" Years of being pushed around, beaten senseless, and receiving death threats has left the unloyal lieutenant more than apathetic towards Megatron, and only further fuels his desire for ruling all of the Decepticons. His schemes for usurping Megatron's seat of power, are most often foiled by Starscream's own massive ego and incompetence, as with many other schemes. He is not an idiot however, his genius far exceeds that of most his colleagues and subordinates, and often allows him to con and weasel his way out of many situations. Among his more passive traits are traces of sarcasm and cynicism as well as tendencies to act overly dramatic.
Strengths + Weaknesses:
+Manipulative: Starscream specializes in manipulating those around him, it's through his manipulation of his fellow Decepticons, that Starscream has been able to make power plays through the hierarchy and attempt to seize the crown
+Determined: Very rarely does Starscream ever quit in obtaining what he desires "Removing mortal danger from the equation that is..." and is relentless in obtaining his goal for power
+Sly: Starscream is the biggest weasel within the decepticon armada, it baffles many he's able to con his way out of death
-Cowardly: Starscream is a coward, no it's, ands, or buts about it. In the face of danger, Starscream faces the opposite direction and will even abandon his comrades
-Brash: Starscream has, on occasion, said and done things without thinking. Quite often actually, which will usually lead to trouble
-Egocentric: Starscream's ego is bigger than Metroplex. It's something he constantly needs to stroke and he will often boast and gloat about his victory prematurely
-Incompetent: Starscream isn't outright incompetent, rather an amalgamation of all his shortcomings leads into incompetence
-Untrustworthy: It's well known amongst Megatron's ranks that Starscream is a sniveling little rat and a two-faced opportunist that'll stab you in the back first chance he gets. His tarnished record has often left his peers weary of working along side him.
-Physically Frail: Comparitively, Starscream is one of the weakest of Decepticons. His abilities are better suited for speed and wit.[/ul]
Abilities: Starscream boasts an impressive array of abilities ranging from speed and agility to his sheer wit and genius. Starscream's alternate mode allows him to fly at speeds most Decepticons could only dream of. His duel energon blasters and rockets may not grant him the firepower of a tank, however it does very well cooperate with his agility. His genius allows him to concoct deadly power plays for Megatron's throne, and his talons are very well suited for close combat.
Weaponry: Starscream may not hold the grand arsenal of many of his cohorts; however, he does boasts quite array of his own weapons. Tge spindly digits of his hand are like razor sharp talons, which could slice through metal like warm butter. His wrists boasts missile launchers, which happen to be his main form of combat when in his alternative mode. Finally, his hands can metamorphose at will into devastating energon blasters, which can blast through steel with about as much ease as his talons can slice.
History: Formerly, Starscream was an influential figure in politics for the cybertronian city-state of Vos. His sway over the people of Vos was undeniable, and his thirst for power was unquenchable. Eventually, he became an air commander for the military and lead his own group of seekers. Hr disgraced himself however, and was instead charged with commanding a disheveled orbital facility capable of producing Dark Energon. It was like a prison sentence for the scheming screamer, he felt as though he'd been forced into slavery for a millennia and a day, disgusted by the position. The actions of a certain Cybertronian gladiator and his "Decepticon cause", did eventually catch his ire. He took little regard for this, "Megatron" however and instead continued his duties at his station.
Eventually, Megatron invaded Starscream's orbital base in an attempt to plunder Starscream's horde of Dark Energon. He decimated what little nuetral forces Starscream could muster up in defense, and the two were eventually met face to face. Megatron reminded Starscream of his past position as air commander, and sparked a dormant ambition with Starscream's core being. After much deliberation, and at first scoffing the Decepticon leader, Starscream joined Megatron's cause and became the Decepticon air commander. Their war with the Decepticons destroyed Cybertron, and left it as Starscream put it, "a graveyard". He schemes for Megatron's position of power, and wages war with the Autobots to this day.
Roleplay/Writing Sample:
The perplexing intricacies that is Megatron's delegate chain of command always was a precariously critical situation. The Duke of the Decepticons had little interest in being succeeded, thusly (much to Starscream's perturbation) no successor had been named. Starscream felt deep within his spark a sense of... Obligation, that filled every iota of his very being with an egomaniacal desire for total hegemony amongst the ranks. These, lesser creatures knew nothing of Starscream's self-centered omnipotence, what gave them the right to question his coronal diadem?! This insolence could not and should not have been tolerated, not by any authoritarian rule of Starscream's... However, all things considered, a more... Diplomatic approach to these cybertronian roaches may be the most acute avenue to sway the masses. Yes, Starscream knew precisely what he must do. They needed a delicate and loving hand, tender and warm, he'd have to kill them with kindness
"Megatron's dead, you witless incompetents! You follow me now, or I blow your sparks out!" Okay... Perhaps that wasn't the gleaming visage of tender lovable affection. But abrasive name calling and threats of execution could in theory work just as well, right? The vehicons seemed to disagree, the stability of Lord Starscream's empire was brought into question merely five minutes after his acquisition of regency.
"I'd follow a toaster before I'd follow you, Starscream!" The vehicon hissed, reciprocating Starscream's inherent hostility. Starscream snarled distastefully at such a vulgar response. He knew that such a rebellious nature was like pestilence that would spread across the crew like taint, festering the Decepticons down to the very core.
"How do we even know Lord Megatron's perished?" Lo and behold, the pestilence infects another. These troglodytes must learn to heed their master's whim and will with nothing less than pure zealotry. They will learn their place.
"Perhaps, you'd like to join our dear master? He's dead! I'm the leader now! Decepticons, by my command...." the stomp of an imposing figure ceased Starscream's commanding speech. A shadow stretched outward amongst the crowd like an endless void, it towered above the cybertronian weasel and loomed over him with a ceaseless amount of palpable disgust. The air went chill around the command bridge, vehicons simply exchanged glances of varying expressionless emotion. The massive shadow was a predator you see, and the vile stench of treachery left quite the heavenly aroma trailing to its prey. To the vehicons, the prey was quite obvious... Starscream's wings lowered instantaneously, the baffled look of pure horror and anguish said more words than he had the strength to muster. His lips quivered and widened as if to speak, but nothing was said. His spark pulsed an aching pain which rattled him down to the core, the feeling of nausea left the very real possibility of discharging lug-nuts to the glossy metallic floor. The shadow did very well to highlight Starscream's own wretched insignificance. His voice shattered under his breath with the angst fueled utterance, which etched the final words of a dysphoric creature which would cease to exist.
