Player Alias: Chris
Character Name: Star Saber
Allegiance: Autobot
Appearance Description: As “Saber”: The smaller mech behind the Autobot Star Saber, who chooses to call himself Saber, is about half the size of Optimus Prime. He has a red helmet, and sleek white and blue paint job on the rest of his body. This version turns into s smaller plane which attaches to the larger form of...
As Star Saber: When he activates his larger form which is universally known as Star Saber, he is just as tall as Optimus. He gains a blue helmet, larger shoulder appendages, and a color scheme reflecting a white primary color with a red and blue trim. This form, as a mecha suit, transforms into a far larger plane.
Personality: Star Saber is first and foremost a mech bound by a strict moral code. Unlike his IDW counterpart, Star Saber has a deep respect for all life, human, mech, or otherwise. He has dedicated his life to the protection of all life, and will not hesitate to answer the call to action when needed. As a result, most Autobots perceive the legendary swordsman as more serious than outgoing. Something that ultimately might be true on the battlefield.
Off the battlefield, however, he is far from the serious personality on battlefield. Easygoing, charitable, and kind hearted, he is the type that would spend his free time mulling over Energon with his troops. Preferring an open and honest policy among them than come off as a stoic and unapproachable general. All the same his presence almost always carries an air of authority that cannot be denied.
All things considered there is one thing to be wary of: his temper. Star Saber is known among many planets for being the “silent death”. Touching his friends, family, or otherwise will soon lead to you meeting your maker. He is never known to so much as raise his voice in these situations, simply keep a dark stoicness that few live to tell the tale of. Something to watch out for.
Strengths + Weaknesses:
STRENGTHS
- Legendary Swordsman: Few have been known to be able to best Star Saber in a battle of blades. Trained by some of the greatest swordsman on Cybertron, he more than lives up to his reputation.
- Personable: Star Saber, being one of the friendlier generals, is quick to make relationships among his troops. Leading oftentimes to loyalty that can get him out of any situation.
- Strength: At his size, Star Saber is one of the more physically powerful Autobots when in his full combat armor. Leading to him to be more than a match for bigger mechs.
- Can-Do Attitude: Star Saber hardly knows the meaning of the word “can’t”, throw any challenge at him and he’s ready for it. Even if the plan hasn’t been made up yet - he’ll be sure there is one.
WEAKNESSES
- Vulnerability: Without his mecha suit, Star Saber is at far more of a disadvantage. His smaller form makes him more easily handled by those who he may be able to best in other circumstances.
- Family/Friends: Though known for his rage, this is by far the easiest way to bring the general to his knees. Star Saber has a strong perpensity for not wanting to see anyone he cares for hurt. And would do most anything for them.
- Ranged Fighting: Though Star Saber carries a gun on him, compared to his skills as a swordsman he is greatly lacking. He mostly is known to stick to simpler firepower in order to hide his inability to handle the “bigger guns”.
- Moral Code: Though seen by most as a good thing, his moral code tends to keep him from simply executing most enemies. Until they cross a fine line (such as hurting those he loves) he is of the opinion all deserve a fair trial. Perhaps leading to some believing he is a bit of a hypocrite.
Abilities:
Star Saber is most known for his adept and legendary abilities as a swordsman - known as a master of the bladed arts. On top of this, he is well known for his ability to combine both his alt modes to form his more legendary form.
Weaponry:
- His Swords: Two red hilted and long blades that Star Saber carries with him everywhere. Perhaps almost as legendary as him - they have been passed in his family line for generations. As beautiful as they are deadly.
- Ion Blaster: A simple, standard issue Ion Blaster which Star Saber carries on him for ranged combat, when and if the situation arises that he needs it.
History:
Star Saber was crafted as a newspark into a small, poor family in Iacon. Named for the legendary blade itself, Star Saber was mercilessly bullied for it as a child. Only kept going by his creators who instilled in him great discipline and a greater level of patience. As he grew up, Star Saber chose to go by his childhood nickname, "Saber", however to avoid such bullying.
As he grew up, Star Saber chose not to attend an academy. Instead seeking more training in the mastery of swordsmanship, especially after his sire had passed on his family swords. He traveled Cybertron for many years, learning from the greatest swordsmen of legend, and honing his own skills as a swordsman.
Then came the war.
Star Saber was quick to flock to Optimus Prime's ideals, which matched with his own code of beliefs. As a result, he quickly joined the Autobot ranks - mostly serving in special forces until his commanding officer looked for volunteers for an experiment. The use of a larger mecha suit that would serve for a smaller Autobot to be able to match the height and strength of bigger bots. Star Saber was very quick, and eager to volunteer.
From then on, "Saber", who took on his given name as "Star Saber" in his newfound form, became a legend on the battlefield. Taking down Decepticon after Decepticon to bring in to "stand trial". He quickly rose through the ranks to general in the Autobot army, and became a legend in his own right. Though he was sure to keep his humbleness and continue to serve Optimus in earnest.
After the war left Cybertron, Star Saber spent many years fighting Decpticons among the cosmos. Most importantly, he continued to hunt and fight with his greatest enemy, a mech named Deathsaurus. Finally, however, his travels seem to have brought him back to his fellow Autobots, on a small, organic planet called Earth.
To say Star Saber is eager to rejoin the fray is an understatement.
