Player Alias: Jaxrond
Character Name: Sunstreaker
Allegiance: Autobots
Appearance Description:
Sunstreaker is a rather tall Autobot, standing head and shoulders above Ratchet. His frame is suited for the heavy frontline combat he’s accustomed to and, yet, maintains an almost sleek appearance as well. Bright yellow with black accenting, stealth is not his strong suit. His armor plating is extensive on his upper half, covering his arms, chassis, and back, made to take the hard hits he’s accustomed to receiving. His Autobot symbol is on his chest, in clear sight. Sunstreaker’s servos are formed of five rather standard digits. They are not long and thin, nor are they short and fat. They are made for combat, and that is what they have been used for most often, though, he is just as capable of holding a painting tool. The plating around his knuckles is very thick, suitable for the amount of punching he does. Sunstreaker’s black helm is very unique in its form. The helm itself is rounded from front to back, with wide fin-like protrusions on the side.
Altmode: Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Roadster
Flashy, shiny, and fast, Sunstreaker’s alt form is exactly how he likes it. Go ostentatious or go home.
Personality:
Vain – Aggressive – Hot tempered – Arrogant – Over protective – Creative – Loyal – Observant – Sarcastic – Sociopathic – Contemptuous – Vindictive – Cynical
A friendly bot, Sunstreaker is not. Vanity combined with sociopathic tendencies makes him perhaps one of the most dangerous Autobots to have joined the cause. He lacks his brother’s kind spark and tends to be selfishly focused on his own abilities, looks, and so on. Very few beings are allowed within his orbit, the most prominent being his twin, Sideswipe. Despite his tendency to be disdainful of others, he does have a certain ‘no on messes with my faction’ mentality. He may not even like an Autobot, but, if the Decepticons did something to that bot and he had the opportunity to take revenge, he would.
As an Autobot frontliner, Sunstreaker throws himself into battle with a vicious fury. He’s always been a brawler, his fighting style adapted from the gladiator matches in the arenas of Kaon. In combat, he’s known for his tendency to charge straight in with a literal growl of battlefury before doing his damndest to pull his enemy limb from limb. And Primus help the Decepticon who scratches his paintjob during battle.
Sunstreaker’s anger isn’t just reserved for Decepticons though. He seems generally annoyed most of the time and he has a tongue of acid. Verbally shredding those who irk him is something he does on a regular basis, most often with his fellow Autobots or their allies. Not even Sideswipe is safe from his words, though, due to the nature of their relationship, he likely remains mostly unaffected.
Beneath all of his barbs, however, Sunstreaker is not truly a bad bot. He’s an artist, with an eye for all things beautiful, and is fully capable of simply taking time to regard something as such. He is also very loyal, at spark, especially to his brother. He just knows that the universe is a dark, hurtful place. So he’s going to hurt it first.
Strengths:
Heavy Hitter- His thick armor and natural combat ability means that Sunstreaker can both take and dish out a lot of punishment. It means that he can keep fighting for a good while against some very tough opponents.
Quick Thinker- Sunstreaker’s a fighter, not a thinker. But, you can bet your aft he’s good on his feet. Instincts from his gladiator days and his numerous battles during the war have turned him into someone who can plan on the go. This manifests in his quick responses to others in verbal sparring as well.
Artistry- Sunstreaker is a truly gifted artist. Sketching and painting, especially, even simple designs, sets his mind at ease. Not to mention, they always come out beautifully.
Weaknesses:
Generally Disliked- Sunstreaker doesn’t really have friends. Period. He’s foul tempered and rude and people don’t like to be around him.
I Can Take It- That ability to take damage is a double-edged sword. If someone lands a hard blow to a vital area, yeah, Sunstreaker can take it and keep going, but that damage is compounding. He’s also bull-headed enough not to stop until he achieves victory or is put down. When Sunny comes back from a fight injured, he’s usually in very bad shape.
Old Wounds- Sunstreaker has been around a long time. Being the frontliner that he is, that means he’s sustained a lot of damage over the course of the fighting, some of which couldn’t be healed properly. Add that to the damages sustained during gladiatorial combat that maybe weren’t fixed all the way, and it’s difficult to tell when an old injury is going to act up or a weakened portion of armor make itself known.
Blind Rage- While that ferocity on the battlefield gives him a certain amount of strength, it’s also very dangerous. He’s on an emotional high, seeing red, and is likely not watching his surroundings very closely beyond ‘who do I hit next?’
Abilities:
Jet Judo- Sunstreaker is one of the proud inventors of ‘jet judo’, a reckless ‘fighting style’ that involves jumping onto a flier’s back and wrestling with them. The goal is to force them back into their bipedal mode or bring them down through whatever means necessary. Sideswipe also simply enjoys the thrill of doing it. If there is a flier on the battlefield, it is highly likely that he will look for a way to use his jet judo on them.
Weaponry:
Laser guided ground-to-air rockets- Specifically to be used against fliers, at some point during the war, Sunstreaker had a mod for these rockets attached to each arm, above his wrist. He is capable of carrying eight small rockets at a time. Due to their size, the effectiveness of these weapons are entirely dependent on accuracy, hence the guidance system. The launcher mods consist of two connected barrels concealed within the plating of his arms until he brings them out for use. It is possible for him to fire one or both simultaneously, though, the more he fires, the more he has to guide and control.
Electron Pulse- Sunstreaker has a pair of shoulder mounted electron-pulse weapons ports, which are capable of emitting sustained bursts of high-energy electron pulses at 300 bursts/sec. While not immediately deadly, it will definitely mess with an enemy’s systems and is capable of causing even a large bot to struggle to maintain their footing. He often uses this to muddle his enemy’s senses before engaging them in melee.
Blaster- A generic blaster, capable of piercing light armor, damaging medium, and doing surface damage to heavy.
Fists of Fury- His preferred method of combat, and the one he’s best in, is hand-to-hand. He’d much rather utilize the classic ‘servo to faceplate’ than shooting from a distance, since it’s what he’s used to and most trained in.
History:
Sunstreaker and his twin were sparked at the tail end of the Golden Age, just before the turn to the caste system. The twins were an anomaly from their first days on the planet. Created as two individual entities sharing a spark, they were the cause of much curiosity for many, specifically within the science and medical community, as were other split-spark pairs of the time. Any data concerning the pair was carefully studied and documented without causing damage to the twins themselves, as intrusive experimentation was still completely taboo.
Sunstreaker was, due to his artistry, regulated to the lower caste when the system came into place. Though treated fairly well due to the clientele who visited regularly to purchase his work, he was still a member of a low social class. Eventually, struggling to make ends meet within the system, Sunstreaker turned to the gladiatorial rings of Kaon, being drawn to the prospect of a scuffle. It took time, but, as he fought, it quickly became apparent that he very talented in the field of combat and was a fast learner when it came to picking up skills. Enough so that his rather glaring personality flaws were overlooked. He quickly became a favorite among the fans, particularly those who enjoyed his brutal brawling style. Eventually, his popularity attracted the attention of Megatronus, a fellow gladiator. When Megatronus put forth a call for followers during his revolutionary movements against the caste system, Sunstreaker eagerly answered, understanding all too well the oppression his brethren felt. His brother, Sideswipe, warned him that his actions may not be wise, but, his advice went unheeded until the point that the protests turned violent.
When the war broke out, both Sunstreaker and Sideswipe sided with the Autobots. Both had agreed with Megatronus’s original message of peace and equality, but, the outbreak of war was something neither had wanted. Over the course of their many battles, the twins continued to survive side by side, very rarely allowing themselves to be separated. It was their teamwork that kept them alive in many battles, though, even when alone, they were each a force to be reckoned with. Sunstreaker again proved himself to be a brutal fighter, gaining a position on the Autobot front lines and earning a name among the Autobots and Decepticons alike for his skills as a warrior, as well as his vanity.
Sunstreaker was separated from his brother in the chaos of the Exodus and only recently made his way to Earth to join Optimus and the others there.
