Player Alias: Thundercat
Character Name: Aerobolt
Allegiance: Neutral
Appearance Description:
Aerobolt is avianoid minicon, resembling a robotic Earth eagle just a few feet taller than a full grown human man. He has a slightly bulky build but is streamlined and aerodynamic, befitting his avian form. Most his body, face, upper legs, and feet are a royal blue color with his facial plates coming out at three points with the upper chest, his neck, and legs are all a chrome white coloration. The top side of his wings are royal blue in color with an inner part being chrome silver with a small golden yellow circle in the middle, reflecting the same color as his beak and ends of his talons. The individual crystalline "feathers" on his wings and tail are a lighter blue and are semi-transparent.
On his form are brilliant bright blue bio-lights on his feet, middle of his wings, and a single line following along the eyes and a large circle in the middle of his chest that'd show his insignia, presently blank, that is this same color with the royal blue highlighting around it. His own optics are a blazing bright blue.
Unlike most minicons, Aerobolt does not transform into a Buzzsaw, Cyclone, or Torpedo, rather he has a unique transformation to be able to take on two states: a shield and chest plate. Whether he could transform into a robot mode initially before being experimented upon is unknown.
Personality:
Aerobolt has lived a life filled with conflict, death, and destruction, never knowing true peace. As a result, his life has been shaped by his experiences of trying to partner with larger cybertronians and trying to steer clear of the war. This has given him a grim outlook on life that there is no true peace in the universe, regardless of where he lives and that Cybertronians are incapable of caring for their own kind, regardless of their size or form. This has led him to being skeptical and untrusting towards others, having a very guarded, cautious attitude that makes many wonder if he'd ever open up to others.
But, that is not to say that Aerobolt shuns all forms of positive emotion. Deep down past his guarded facade, he is actually a fairly caring and compassionate sort of Cybertronian. His life as shaped him to worry and feel a need to protect others who cannot protect themselves, and under his seriousness lies a Cybertronian more than willing to stick his neck out for others. He has seen much loss and tries to prevent further loss of life, willingly throwing his life on the line if it means someone could live another day. But, this is especially so when he becomes close with someone or feels kinship with them, such as with the weaponizers, displaying a softer, caring side few rarely actually see.
Aerobolt, however, is still a serious and calculating type. So he is still careful and considers every situation, good or bad. He will take risks when it is necessary and is surprisingly calm and collected despite his trust issues and concerns for others. He can get angry and furious as anyone, but he always seems to have a careful balance of calm compassion and aggressive coolness. And beneath all that lies leadership potential that Aerobolt has never really paid much attention to, but will come up from time to time when the time is right.
Strengths:
Flight: As an avian Transformer, Aerobolt is capable of flight by flapping his wings or by gliding. His frame is bulky but sleek, allowing him exceptional maneuverability, speed and agility in the air and he is more than capable of performing some aerial feats or gaining a height advantage over others.
Small Size: His smaller size compared to most Cybertronians, even minibots, can be used to his advantage in getting in close and outmaneuvering his opponent, which compliments his flying capabilities nicely, and also enabling him to get into small areas.
Enhancements: Aerobolt is a minicon who has been experimented upon in his youth, which has led to some greater physical abilities than that of normal minicons. For one, he and some of his fellow weaponizers are stronger than they appear, more than capable of knocking a Cybertronian roughly Grimlock's size off their feet. Aerobolt is also a lot more durable than he might appear, more than capable of taking a fair bit of punishment. His stamina is also something to be impressed by, being able to go for quite some time before he begins to tire.
Calculating/Tactical Mind: Aerobolt is small, but he is always watching and formulating situations. Whether its trying to avoid capture or coordinating his fellow weaponizers, he always tries to have a plan in mind, whether its ahead of time or in the moment.
Weaknesses:
Small size: Despite the advantage being small brings, it also make him more likely to be damaged, rely on a larger partner, or look to safety in numbers. Even flying he could easily be outmaneuvered by vehicle based Cybertronians and his speed may largely come from diving or quick bursts.
Enhancement Limitations: Despite being stronger, more durable, and greater stamina, Aerobolt is not invincible. He still feels pain and can be taken out like anyone else. Sometimes, a larger cybertronian can easily outlast him, outmaneuver, or be stronger than they appear as well, which means his enhancements only go so far. The ability to also give an energy boost to a larger Cybertronian is also limited to a mutual agreement between himself and the said host or full power cannot be achieved. This boost also begins to drain Aerobolt himself, which means using his shared power can cause him to become exhausted or overexert himself to the point he separates from his host involuntarily or collapses once the link is over.
Limited Weaponry: Like most minicons, save for those programmed as guards, Aerobolt is rather limited in weapons he has at his disposal and is rather reliant on his flight, enhancements, and mind to make the right decisions when he strikes, especially since he must rely on close quarters.
Trust: Unfortunately, the experience of living during the war in his youth and being experimented upon have made Aerobolt guarded and closed off. He rarely opens up to others and it takes much to earn his respect and friendship. Thus, this makes him less likely to work with others unless he is close to someone, such as the weaponizer group.
Abilities:
Weaponizer Mental link: During the experimentation, Aerobolt was made capable of communicating mentally with his fellow weaponizers, allowing him to exchange thoughts and track them if they are at certain distances. This link extends to any host Aerobolt is connected to, allowing them to communicate mentally and strengthen the connection him and a host might have.
Weaponizer Power Surge: Aerobolt is capable of accessing a large amount of power that, when connected to a host in shield form or as a chest plate, infuses them with an incredible boost of power. In his shield state, an aura surrounds Aerobolt, deflecting most energy and physical damage and causing the host have "surge lines" of brilliant bright blue on their form. But, this offers only half the power Aerobolt can provide whether the connection is mutual or not. When fully connected and in sync with his host, Aerobolt allows access to armor the same color as his own that grants the user flight, greater durability, and power boost that accentuates several areas of the body such as the head, shoulders, lower arms, lower legs, and the back. With this power though, Aerobolt and other weaponizers are capable of taking over a host without their permission.
Heat Vision: Outside the weaponizers abilities, Aerobolt has a feature in his optics of being capable of shifting to a heat vision mode, turning them a dark orange to be able to spot life forms, security measures, etc.
Weaponry:
Photon Bladed Wings and Tail: With being a Cybertronian Photon Eagle, Aerobolt has thousands of microscopic light absorbers in each crystalline feather that allows him to light energy to slice and melt through armor. Though these wings can already do some damage due to the edges being razor thin and sharp, the light energy adds additional insult to injury.
Beak/Claws: Aerobolt's claws and beak are likewise razor sharp, capable of easily slicing through wires and leaving stinging scratches or puncture wounds when he gets a hold of someone.
History:
Not much is known about Aerobolt's earlier history. All that is known is that he was born from a sire and carrier of his avianoid species sometime during the conflict for Cybertron. Where he was originally born isn't clear, but he suspects he might have possibly been from Vos due to the avian form and that his parents were forced to move often due to the conflict becoming worse over the years.
However, over time, Aerobolt lost his parents to the unfortunate conflict and many times he was seen as a mindless tool for others to use as a pet. Any time Aerobolt tried to help, often he found himself drawn into a fight or battle, eventually forcing him to take off before he became too attached, causing him to feel somewhat skeptical either side was worth fighting for. But, upon trying to leave an area near Kaon, Aerobolt was captured by some Vehicons and taken prisoner.
But, he was chosen along with six other young minicons to undergo a unique experiment to see if a minicon could be used to gain even more power than a full grown Cybertronian could obtain. Thus, Aerobolt and his fellow minis were subjected to several, painful experiments by Decepticon scientists and others, such as Cyberwarp, before they were considered capable of performing such a feat as Megatron was expecting. Essentially, the seven minicons had become weapons, giving rise to their name as Weaponizers, a new breed of minicons.
After the experiments were done however, Aerobolt and his fellow weaponizers were placed into stasis when energy problems began to plague Cybertron on top of the planet slowly dying as a whole. So, for the rest of the war Aerobolt has been in stasis with his group until an unexpected malfunction occurred with his stasis pod and he was able to break himself free along with his fellow minicons. In an attempt to escape Dark Mount, Aerobolt instructed the other six to follow him so they could figure a way off the planet, eventually coming across a space bridge the Decepticons once used, deciding to use it themselves to get away from Cybertron.
Unfortunately, the space bridge they found wasn't working properly and went on the fritz, sending Aerobolt away from his team and sending him to an unfortunate landing point.
