Player Alias: Jaxrond
Character Name: Tarn
Allegiance: Decepticons
Appearance Description:
Tarn is a very large bot, at least Megatron’s size in stature. He is best known for the double fusion canon on his right arm, and the Decepticon emblem mask that covers his face. Painted deep Decepticon purple, Tarn is the figure of nightmares of both Decepticons and Autobots alike.
Altmode: Tank
Personality:
Eloquent – Brutal – Unstable – Sadistic – Obsessive – Loyal – Cruel – Proud – Thoughtful – Charismatic - Organized
Tarn is, in short, the eloquent brute. He can wax poetic and quote the masters on a whim, and loves doing so. But, he’s just as likely to rip a bot’s head off and smash it against the nearest surface. As sadistic and cruel as they come, Tarn’s infamous for his love of toying with his victims. Yes, he’ll let that call for help go…he’ll just slow it down enough that it arrives three weeks later.
Above all else, Tarn is loyal to Megatron. It was Megatron who freed him from the senate’s control, Megatron who created the monster he is, and Megatron who allows Tarn to act as his arm of vengeance. For Tarn, his purpose is serving Megatron.
Strengths:
The Thinker- Tarn’s well studied in many areas, and has a lot of experience. He’s a very good tactician and is more than capable of holding intellectual debate with the best.
Brute Force- Tarn is a big, strong bot. He likes tearing things apart, and is capable of doing so. In fact, with his abilities and mods, it has been said that he's on par with a Phase Sixer.
Leadership- Tarn has an odd charisma about him that garners him followers. It was seen during his commission at the Grindcore, where he was the warden, and, now, as he leads the DJD
The Hunter- Tarn is very good at finding people and things. He’s had a lot of experience. He knows what he’s doing.
Weaknesses:
Pride- Tarn’s greatest weakness is perhaps his pride. Poking at it will elicit a reaction…though not many are strong enough to take advantage of that.
Blind Loyalty- Tarn is obsessive, and has a bit of a one-track mind concerning Megatron. This could be exploited.
His Team- Though Tarn would certainly deny this, taking or threatening members of his team is a surefire way to send him into action. Is he confident in their abilities? Yes. But, as their leader, he very much sees it as his responsibility to protect them. Particularly Kaon, Vos, and Nickle.
Addict- Tarn is addicted to a few things, but, the most infamous is transformation itself. He burns through t-cogs at a truly terrifying rate...and prefers to take those from his victims as replacements.
Abilities:
Outlier- Tarn has the ability to align his voice with the resonance of one’s spark, thereby ending their life. He has slits on the sides of his face that are used to amplify and project his ability. He can also use them to talk even when his lips aren’t moving. Milne confirmed that Tarn could affect a Combiner with his voice without a problem. In fact, he could, in theory (were the Combiner is restrained enough) cause the Combiner to de-combine or kill them in their combined state. Tarn is also capable of using his power through a comm call and of recording his voice for others to use. As long as his voice is heard, it can kill.
Weaponry:
Double Fusion Canon- Much like Megatron’s, but, twice the firepower.
Bare Fists- As strong as he is, Tarn doesn’t often need the big guns.
His Voice- That outlier ability is indeed a weapon.
History:
Formerly known as ‘Glitch’, a name given to himself, Tarn was a young outlier on whom the Senate performed empurata. The reasons for this are unknown, but, it is clear that, even then, he was willing to rebel. Glitch later joined Orion Pax in his fights against the Senate, however, his support ended when he joined the Decepticons in their early days of formation.
After quickly rising through the Decepticon ranks, Glitch was given a new body, and face. Over this new face, he chose to wear the Decepticon insignia, fully dedicating his identity to the cause. He was made the warden of the Grindcore, where he became known for blasting the Empyrean Suite at full volume from time to time. This was done to cover the screams of those being smelted into raw materials for Decepticon MTO’s.
After a successful stint at Grindcore, Glitch became ‘Tarn’, named after Megatron’s birthplace and one of the Decepticons’ greatest victories. He was then placed in leadership of the DJD, who he continues to lead even now.
