Player Alias: Jaxrond
Character Name: Ironhide
Allegiance: Autobots
Appearance Description:
Ironhide has been upgraded many times over the years, but, it doesn't change the fact that he's an old bot. Underneath that heavy armor and the big guns is a model that speaks of its hardiness simply because of how long it's lasted. His head at level with Optimus Prime's chestplates, and with a bulk to match his height, he stands as one of the larger Autobots. Due to his profession before the war, he was made to take a beating and be able to dish out one in return, something that has served him sell during the war.
Red with grey accenting, Ironhide is not an inconspicuous mech, which is just fine in his book. Equally noticeable are his canons, one mounted on each arm. They're big, they're bad, and you bet they're just as dangerous as they look.

Personality:
Rough, tough, and gruff are the best words to describe Ironhide. Close to Ratchet in age, he's been at Optimus's side since the beginning, and he'll stay with him until his old spark gives out. A fighter with a strong sense of right and wrong, Ironhide is the type of bot who isn't afraid to lay down the law when it needs laying. Decepticons causing trouble? He's your guy. Recruits need whipped into shape? He's on it. Just don't expect him to give out any hugs if they start crying.
It's not that he's unkind. Ironhide just isn't the type who deals well with nonsense. There are things to do and a war to be fought, no time for messing around. Nor does he deal well with change. There's a way things are done and that's the way he does them. He also dislikes excessive chit-chat. Actions speak so much louder than words. All in all, things are quite simple in Ironhide's world, and not much gets under his skin. Respect him and he'll respect you.
Don’t let that simplicity fool you, Ironhide is nobody’s fool. He’s been around the block way too many times for any of the old tricks to work and he was probably there when the newer ones were invented. Trying to treat this bot like an idiot will get you shot in the aft, because Ironhide really likes his weapons, especially his big canons. And, yeah, he’s a little trigger happy. He particularly enjoys upgrading to the newest, strongest model and then using it to lay waste to the Decepticons. Of course, with Cybertron in a...dormant state, he won't be getting upgrades for a good while.
Strengths:
Not My First Rodeo- Ironhide’s been around a good, long while. He knows what’s what and has a lot of experience to pull from. He may not be the most intelligent bot, which he’ll readily admit, but, he’s definitely got wisdom.
Tough as Nails- It takes a lot to shake this bot. He’s got a foundation like a rock and doesn’t take much from anyone. He also has an iron will, ensuring that he won’t crack easily.
Heavy Armor- Ironhide has some very heavy armor, and is thus able to take a lot of punishment. His armor is made of a trithyllium- steel alloy impregnated with irradiated carbon fibers, meaning that he is immune to most forms of blunt trauma, artillery and electromagnetic attacks.
Weapons Expert- If you need a new weapon, Ironhide is the mech to see. He can run maintenance, outfit you with specs that match your frame, and ensure that you are battle ready. This, of course, translates to his own fighting. He knows his weapons, especially how to use them.
Weaknesses:
Not as Young as I Once Was- Ironhide’s old and a little creaky. He’s also been through a lot. There’s old battle scars that act up and old joints that like to get stiff.
Stubbornness- That iron will often transfers into stubbornness. He’s right, he knows he’s right, and likely only Prime, Ratchet, or Chromia can change his mind.
Unwavering Loyalty- While possibly a strength as well, Ironhide’s loyalty can be used against him. Mess with those he loves? You just earned a one way ticket to pains-ville. Of course, if that’s the reaction you wanted, the big guy might find a return on that ticket headed his way.
Abilities:
Because his canons are mounted on his arms, Ironhide’s fists are free during combat. He can shoot and punch as needed. He also doesn’t need to worry about the time it takes for a servo and weapon to switch in transformation.
Loaded for Bear- Ironhide is essentially a walking armory of mostly firearms. He’s got weapons out the wazoo and literally sleeps with his canons (seeing as they’re attached to him). Prod at own risk.
Weaponry:
Liquid Canon- A specialized canon that can, theoretically, be loaded with any kind of liquid. It shoots a stream up to 2000 ft. His choices include super-cooled liquid nitrogen, superheated liquid lead, & petro- chemical fluid that ignites upon contact. Affectionately called the ‘Water Gun’.
Plasma Canon- On Ironhide’s other arm is a plasma canon. It’s larger than the standard blasters most mechs use, made to obliterate light armor, do heavy damage to medium, and even pierce heavy. Though, how much damage it does through the heavy armor depends on just how tough the armor is.
The Heavy Iron- A present from one of his fellow Autobots, a heavy weapon carried on his back. It resembles an overlarge pistol that can be fired with one or two hands, and is loaded with a slug-type projectile that carries incredible kinetic energy. At long range, it hurts. At close range, it’s devastating.
Missile Launchers- Embedded in each of Ironhide’s shoulders is a missile launcher. Upon opening a panel at the front of his shoulder, he is able to fire a number of small, explosive projectiles. These are made to do a large amount of localized damage, but, they are not manually targeted or heat seeking. It’s an aim and fire deal. Ironhide is capable of carrying ten at a time, five in each shoulder, which can be fired as a volley or one at a time.
Hand-to-Hand- Don’t think getting past those big cannons will save you. This bot knows how to rumble, and he’s been doing this dance for a very long time.
History:
Originally a Senate Security officer, Ironhide was never a bright-eyed young bot. Even in his youth, he was known for being gruff but generally kind. He followed orders, providing both private and public security, and did his best to avoid political turmoil. He was good at what he did, and it kept his tanks full and gave him a little on the side. Ironhide was among those who found themselves battling early Decepticon insurgents when Megatron first rose to power, and, during these skirmishes, caught the eye of Orion Pax. Ironhide stood with Orion, acting as his loyal friend, subordinate, and protector until he became Optimus Prime. Then, he publically pledged to follow him anywhere.
Ironhide kept his pledge throughout the war, following Optimus’s orders without question and doing what needed done to further the Autobot cause. He outfitted himself for war when the Autobots were first brought together to battle the Decepticons and has served as the Prime’s loyal soldier and weapons specialist ever since. When Cybertron finally fell, Ironhide departed with the rest of the Autobots, following his leader to Earth. However, when their ship came under fire, he was among those forced to evacuate. Now, after some difficulty, he has finally found his way to Earth, following the Prime’s message.
