Cyberwarp couldn't help but feel a mix of pride and bashfulness as Wing continued to praise her. She just wasn't used to it, and yet it flattered her so much. Her small wings fluttered quickly for a few seconds, visually displaying just how much his words were impacting the femme.
"I.. You're the one who's offered me a home and more."
She chuckled shyly, a large smile painted on her faceplate. She didn't know what more they could do here aside from sitting and talking, and to be honest she didn't mind just chatting with her friend. They'd eventually have to move out, but just this time alone with Wing was something special to the former Decepticon.
When the white mech wished to see the rings of the planet before them up close, Cyberwarp's optics lit up. "I'd like to go as well. I've never seen anything like it, and I'd like to see just how a ring can stay around a planet like that." It seemed like such a strange thing to her, but a closer view would help her understand how it worked to a fair degree.
The femme could not have been happier at that moment, spending quality time with her new best friend. "I'm ready when you are, Wing."
What a pair they were, with their constant trading of compliments. This kind of uplifting interaction was good for both of them, Wing thought. It had likely been a while since either had been genuinely praised. he smiled in return, not in any hurry for this time to end. For now, it was easy to pretend that they were just two friends exploring the galaxy, far out of the reach of the war.
When Cyberwarp expressed her own eagerness to see the rings, Wing gave an affirmative nod.
"I'll lead. If there are any gravitational fluxes, I'll be sure to warn you."
The last thing they needed at this point was for them both to be trapped in an unexpected gravitational pull and forced into a crash landing on an unfamiliar planet. Without further ado, he transformed and fired his thrusters, moving at a measured pace, quickly enough to propel himself, but slow enough to be cautious and easily followed.
Cyberwarp was more than happy to let Wing take the lead as they made their way towards the planet's rings. She had always been more of a follower anyway, and in the event one of them was sucked into the planet's gravitational pull by accident, the other could always attempt a rescue.
Or.. they could both get pulled in. That was always a scenario too.
"I'm right behind you."
As Wing transformed and moved out, Cyberwarp followed suit. She stayed behind him, but made sure to keep enough distance just in case Wing were to suddenly stop. The last thing they needed was a collision, especially when there wasn't a medic around. Sure, they could have done basic repairs, but anything extensive.. Maybe they should have found a medic and brought them along..
::I wonder if Earth is as beautiful as this planet.::
The constant, subtle thrum of Wing's engines were lost in the vacuum of space as he kept himself going at a steady pace. Cyberwarp's question made him smile.
::I think that it will be even more beautiful. Inhabited planets usually are, simply because of the life teeming there.::
He came up on the rings surrounding the planet and paused. The fragments of rock and particles of dust were unassuming, drab, even. But, as they were carefully held in place by the planet's gravity, they became beautiful, refracting the light of the stars around them. He paused, hovering above the rings caught in the gentle pull of the same gravitational force, just strong enough that he could comfortably float with the debris.
::I have never seen anything like this before...:: he commented.
Even more beautiful? It was something that was difficult to imagine, but it still excited Cyberwarp nonetheless. She had no clue what to expect when it came to Earth, and if this was just a fraction of it's beauty.. then she was going to love it.
Making sure to stay close to Wing, she hovered as they drew close to the rings of the planet. How strange. From a distance it had looked like a solid ring, but now that they were viewing it up close it was just dust, rock, and ice.
...Well that as a slight disappointment.
Either way, it was fascinating to see how all of these small factors could form what appeared to be one solid ring around the planet. ::So the planet's gravity holds all of this in place? That's amazing.:: Cyberwarp did want to take a closer look, but there was still the risk of getting caught in the planet's gravitational pull as well. It must have been strong to keep all of this debris circling around, or maybe it was just due to how small the objects were.
::How much closer do you think we can get, Wing?::
Wing hummed in agreement with her observation. It truly was amazing, how something as simple as gravity and a bit of debris could create such a sight.
::So simple and yet so beautiful. Small components making up a larger whole. Not so different from us.::
There was something like amusement in his tone as he made the comparison. He angled his wings, feeling the gravity of the planet but not yet feeling the need to fight against it.
::Mm, unfortunately, I do not think we can go nearer. These objects are small and are caught at the perfect distance for orbit. But we have more mass. I don't want to risk either of us being caught,:: he made a wistful noise, ::I feel like a sparkling, but, I almost want to touch them.::
Cyberwarp floated along with Wing, watching the spectacle before them in awe. He really couldn't have put it any better. Something so small... When working alone it was nothing more than just debris, but together? Together they made a beautiful sight. It was almost the same as how combination worked, a thought bringing the femme back to Cybertron. She'd been part of something bigger, but now she was free of that.
Free to enjoy simple things such as this.
With friends.
She couldn't help but chuckle at the mech's statement. It was almost cute in a way, but she could relate to a degree. Sparklings could be so carefree from what she knew.. and always find a way to get themselves into trouble.
::Probably for the best that we don't. I like being here with you, but I'm not so certain about being stuck in the gravitational loop of a planet that doesn't even have solid ground.:: Not that she wouldn't have minded the quality time, of course. She already enjoyed the time they'd had up until this point and for once looked forward to what awaited them in the future.
As they floated there, watching the debris pass along the trail gravity had set for it, she began to realize her processor had completely drifted away from all the anxieties she had had since leaving her homeworld. The Decepticons, Cyclonus, the DJD.. None of them could easily find the femme out in the middle of the vast reaches of space... right?
::I think.. this is probably the most relaxed I have ever been. How about you, Wing?::
A quick firing of his stabilizing thrusters kept Wing from drifting any closer to the danger zone of the gravitational pull. It was done without a thought, a purely instinctive action taken by his mechanical body. His conscious focus remained on the sparkling dust floating around the planet itself. And the femme he was with. Some of his fellows would call him insane for simply leaving with a Decepticon like he had, flying across distant space and to an unknown world. To be frank, though, he'd always been the odd cog in the group, and he didn't mind in the least. She'd needed help, an ally in a war-torn situation. He'd offered to be that for her. And now he had a friend. He failed to see where the situation had gone wrong in any way.
He chuckled in response to her comment, an unseen smile pulling at his lip components. ::Yes, even my company may grow tiresome after being stuck like that for a while.::
Almost lazily, he drifted a little closer, simply letting momentum carry him. He was at peace, unworried, completely relaxed. This was what many of his fellows were missing: serenity. They had separated from the war, yes, but they were so focused on their own neutrality that they had simply created another side to fight for. Fighting skills were necessary in a universe like theirs, but, they should be used sparingly. Most of an individual's time would be better spent like this: in serenity. Not allowing outside forces to seep in an permeate the inner well-being. Though, not even he could achieve it at all times.
::Yes. I have not felt this calm for a while. This sort of peace is what I wish we could all have,:: he responded, ::At any given time. I sometimes feel this serene when alone, but, it is much better when shared with a friend.::
Cyberwarp found it hard to believe in her processor that she'd ever grow tired of Wing's company. He was certainly an oddity to her, but a good oddity. Unlike her former team, Wing respected her. He valued her thoughts and opinions and let her speak her mind freely. He was even joining her on this crazy quest for an unknown world just to make sure she arrived safely.
It honestly meant so much to her that she didn't even know the words to express that feeling.
::Maybe, but.. I like your company. You're unlike anyone I've ever met before, and I mean that in all the best ways possible.::
The former Decepticon grew nervous for a brief moment as Wing drifted a little closer to the gravitational pull, but relaxed when she realized he was still fine. She didn't want to test how close she could get and risk getting sucked in, so she was more than fine staying put unless she was coaxed to move closer. The feeling of floating was strange without the use of her rotors, but it was a nice feeling all the same. Peaceful and serene, it was almost as if resting upon the universe's most comfortable berth. She felt weightless and free, and the only sounds she could hear were her own voice and Wing's.
She never quite realized how the sound of silence could be so pleasant. It didn't have to always be a terrifying waiting game.
At the mention of enjoying this moment with a friend, the blue and yellow femme's spark began to figuratively swirl with joy. It was a strange sensation, but she didn't know how else to describe it. Her first real friend, and one who cared about her to boot. Part of her honestly wished she could stay right here with Wing forever.
::Can.. we stay here a moment more? I know we have to leave soon, but..::
