Player Alias:
Kavac
Character Name:
Victory Leo
Allegiance:
Autobot
Appearance Description:
Every fiber of Leo's being bleeds ruthlessness, cunning and honor. Characterized by generous applications of black and gold, his frame accentuates the lion's pride above all else. Victory Leo is quite tall and menacing, with most if not all of his more animalistic design motifs such as his claws and lion's mane displayed most prominently. A headdress-like helm adorns his head, complete with a set of large curved fangs pointed upwards. He presently stands at over 40 feet tall, seating him among the most physically imposing Autobots.
Victory Leo possesses the ability to retain two separate alt modes, with one being a deep and powerful expression of his feral side, a massive robotic lion complete with wings and a pair of cannons:
His second alt-mode is less feral looking, taking the shape of a yellow V-22 Osprey tiltrotor:
Personality:
Victory Leo is not the mech he once was. Where he previously would have shown compassion and tact, all that remains are primal urges. For an Autobot who once displayed leadership and skill on par with Optimus Prime himself, Leo has fallen far. He is incredibly reckless and quickly irritated, and seems hellbent on finding either a new opponent or something to destroy. It is these new tendencies that have fostered a sense of mistrust in his Autobot comrades, feeling that Leo would be more prone to bouts of unfettered rage than to lend assistance.
Under all that primal fury however, many of Leo's close friends maintain that a part of his old self still remains, Star Saber in particular. In rare moments he will devote himself selflessly to an ally in need, regardless of the risk posed to himself. An undying drive to protect the innocent still burns brightly in his spark chamber, despite what he may himself claim. While his capacity for inspiring loyalty in his troops may have evaporated, his devotion to protecting them has not changed.
Strengths + Weaknesses:
Strength - There are few bots capable of matching Leo in terms of raw strength. Such strength has emboldened him to take on Decepticon combiners alone, and prevail.
Indomitable - Even the most powerful and domineering Decepticons are unable to bend Leo to their will. All that pent up rage creates a buffer around his force of will, inviting all who would think to control him to come get slashed.
Defender - Ginrai is still in there, somewhere. If an ally is placed in immediate and mortal danger, Leo has a habit of dropping absolutely everything to defend them. Oddly enough, he has an especially large soft spot for protecting human children.
Fury - While oftentimes his most powerful weapon against the Decepticons, fury can often get the better of him. A hard shell of anger surrounds Leo at his very core, and at his most extreme moments sees no distinction between friend or foe.
Predictable - Victory Leo is far from a cold and calculating strategist. He will often, if not always throw caution to the wind and charge headlong into battle, regardless of the consequences to himself or others. As such, he is incredibly predictable from a strategic point of view.
Sentimental - Leo still retains some fond memories of individuals he'd known as Ginrai, as well as all sentiment for them. Placing those he cares about in a position he can't save them from will undoubtedly freeze the wild Autobot in his tracks.
Abilities:
Point One Percenter - Only once every ten generations does a spark like Victory Leo's come around. Leo's spark is what enabled him to survive what would otherwise be fatal injuries, and what allowed him to process extensive modifications to his frame. In addition, Leo's spark provides him his immense strength.
Gurunium Body - A new ability granted to him by his spark after being reformatted, Leo possesses the capability to combine with Star Saber to form the powerful warrior, Victory Saber, thanks to the special properties of his new body. His Gurunium frame allows him to resist energy attacks, as well as the blast from the weapon that initially crippled Ginrai, the Living Metal Destroying cannon.
Triple Changer - The fact that Victory Leo somehow gained a third alt mode after being reformatted is puzzling, considering he lacked the form as Ginrai. In addition to his flight capable mode, Leo is able to transform into a pure manifestation of his inner self, a massive and heavily armored lion capable of ripping even the most powerful Decepticons to sparking shreds.
Weaponry:
Saber Claws - No lion would be complete without their razor sharp claws. A set of claws capable of shredding through most forms of matter serve as Leo's primary melee weapon. When in his lion-mode, Victory gains a second set of claws on his two back legs.
Maw - A powerful set of jaws can be an effective tool in the right hands, but Leo prefers using them to rip the heads off of unfortunate Decepticons while in his lion-mode.
Twin Superconductor Cannons - A pair of powerful cannons function as Leo's secondary weapons, capable of firing destructively charged projectiles in all three of his modes.
Point Defense Guns - A pair of rapid fire cannons mounted to Leo's hips serve as a deterrent to anybody wanting to get too close, as if every other aspect of his form didn't serve that function already. These two guns are useful for allowing Victory to engage enemies at a distance while still keeping his hands and claws free. In addition, both guns are precise and fast enough to destroy sizable projectiles from his front.
V-Lock Cannon - An unwieldy cannon by most standards, the V-Lock acts as Leo's main ranged weapon. Rumor has it he was tired of being sniped one day, and tore the main gun off of a Decepticon warship. Needless to say, the explosive cannon quieted said pesky snipers. When combined as Victory Saber, the V-Lock cannon retains its functionality as the combiner's main weapon.
History:
Ginrai of Crystal City was forged over ten million years ago, being able to remember the faces of the Thirteen themselves. He made a name for himself during the Cybertronian dark ages, fighting underneath the banner of Prima as a soldier of light. When it came time for the original primes to depart their home, Ginrai went on to serve under the mysterious Alpha Prime. During a period of relative piece, Ginrai was marked as one of the founders of the Primal Vanguard, along side such notable groups as the Multiforce, Children of Primus, and the Brainmasters. Under Nova Prime, Ginrai and the Vanguard would be converted from a homeworld peacekeeping force to agents of the Expansion, clearing out alien worlds for future colonization under the pretense of of a Pax Cybertronia.
Fighting aliens and organics merely protecting their homes didn't sit well with the veteran commander, and so Ginrai took his leave from the Vanguard early during the reign of Daxius Prime. Instead of spending his retirement uneventfully, Ginrai focused on studying law. Using the political clout he'd earned while fighting for the Vanguard, he eventually became the Chief Justice of Cybertron, dishing out justice as one of the highest authorities on the planet.
In order to control the rulings of the courts, the senate and its Institute managed to successfully brainwash the Chief Justice via mnemosurgery, effectively turning him into an unknowing sleeper agent. Ginrai's rulings slowly began to diverge from fair and honorable to corrupt and harsh, unintentionally easing the planet into the grip of the infamous Clampdown in the process. It was only after an attempt on his life that the brainwashing was detected, having been operated on afterwards by a sympathetic doctor.
Ginrai, still in hiding after breaking free from the senate's control, watched from the sidelines as the Decepticons grew more and more powerful. As Sentinel and Zeta Prime worked to crush the enemies of the senate, Ginrai solemnly refused to take part in the violence. Ironically, it was only after the destruction of the senate and the ascension of Orion Pax to Optimus Prime did he finally know what needed to be done.
Rising to the rank of sector commander, Ginrai's subordinates often viewed him as Optimus Prime's eventual successor, given the similarities between the two Autobots. When Prime was seriously wounded in a battle with Megatron, Ginrai was chosen to act as a stand in for Optimus while he recovered. Reformatted into a shape closely resembling the Autobot Leader, Ginrai would act as both a warrior and propaganda tool, spreading Optimus's voice to his troops while he recovered from his injuries. Ginrai's faithful portrayal of Prime even confused Megatron for a short while.
Ginrai's career as an Autobot would carry him off Cybertron as the Ark departed their dying world, taking his troops to battle Decepticons across the stars. During a fateful engagement in G Nebula 89, Ginrai would be changed forever; fatally wounded by Decepticon colonel Deathsaurus and his Living-Metal-Destroying cannon, the Autobot's body was rendered corroded and useless, while his mind remained intact. As Ginrai's life force started going the way of his body, it was theorized that his powerful spark would enable him to transition to a new body, although with unknown side effects. Star Saber initially opposed such a procedure on the grounds that it was too risky, although the weak voice of his old friend compelled him to allow it.
The reformatting process was too slow; Ginrai's spark faded to near oblivion before his new body was completed, but by sheer force of will, he willed his own spark to hold out long enough until the procedure was completed. Just as his new body was completed, something remarkable happened. His spark's energy levels erupted off the charts, mutating and transmuting his new frame into something else entirely. When the smoke cleared, Ginrai was gone, and Victory Leo had risen. Infused with the same rage that had kept his spark from destruction, Leo was reborn with a new primal body. He quickly proved himself to be incredibly unbalanced by shredding much of the room's equipment before he could be calmed by Star Saber, much to the horror and dismay of his men.
No longer the commander he had once been, Victory Leo turned to using his savage cunning against the Decepticons rather than heroic bravery.
