Player Alias: lianawalter
Character Name: Sideswipe ~ WFC Version
Allegiance: Autobot
Appearance Description:
Vehicle mode : Sideswipe becomes a red Lamborghini Veneno B:8888-QK for his vehicle mode. He likes it more for the sleek design that allows him to easily pick up speed when he's out on the open road. His autobot emblem is on the center of the hood in this form, and the headlights tend to reflect the same baby blue that his optics are.
Bi-Pedal Mode : Sideswipe is an average sized mech, being only a little shorter than his brother Sunstreaker. His frame is mostly red with black tones along his chassis, legs, head, and hands. His helmet has little nubs on it and frames the dark grey of his face and the bright baby blue optics there. His aubotot emblem is in the center of his chassis, bold and always kept freshly painted so nobody ever doubts where he belongs. In this mode his front wheels end up as shoulder guards, giving him slightly broader shoulders. His fingers are blunt and usually kept clean so that he doesn't leave evidence during one of his pranks. Also so that he doesn't aggravate his twin. Too much.
Personality: Sideswipe is a very competitive mech, someone who is always ready and happy to show off his prowess in the heat of battle. He's relentless and willing to do whatever it takes in order to win, this includes cheating. He also has been known to jump off larger mechs in order to get enough leverage to land on one Decepticon flier or the other. He's also sarcastic and a bit of a smart-alleck, often getting on his fellow Autobots nerves.
He's also fiercely loyal to his twin brother Sunstreaker, whom he has fought alongside for their entire lives. He's calmer than his brother, and tries to be the one to diffuse his brother's temper by either distracting him or starting a simple brawl by purposefully making a tiny scratch on yellow paint. It isn't unusual to see Sideswipe prodding at mechs around him, and his sibling isn't immune from his friendly picking. Though he has friends, his loyalty is first to Sunstreaker, and then to the Autobot's cause.
Pranks come as one of the many ways in which Sideswipe expresses himself, and one can judge his mood by just how inventive a prank is. His preferred targets are usually Prowl and Ratchet, though anyone is fair game when he's in one of his more playful moods.
When a situation calls for it Sides can be serious and even thoughtful, and because he's often dismissed due to his tendency to act rashly on the field of battle, he can sometimes have insights to things that those in positions of power haven't yet noticed. The things a bot only realizes from the front lines.
Strengths + Weaknesses:
Frontline Fighter : Sideswipe is a seasoned front line soldier, and a good one at that. He employs some of the most brutal means of taking out his enemies. His antics on the battlefield mean he often gets targeted by their enemies, usually by fed up seekers for his Jet Judo. While he possesses guns, Sidewsipe prefers to use either his blades or fists to get things done on the battlefield.
Spontaneous : He never uses the same tactics twice, and has been known to cross deep into enemy battle lines in order to wreck havok on their tactics. He does this without informing anyone on his own team, sometimes even going against direct orders so that he can do his own thing.
Loyalty : Sideswipe is one bot that will never defect. He believes in what the Autobots are doing, and respects Optimus too much for giving he and his brother a chance to do more with their lives than they originally were. He believes that they will end the war eventually, and will serve willingly until the end.
Stubborn : This red menace has been known to hold onto things even when there's no chance of gaining them. His tenacity may be a good thing on the battlefield, but in his personal life it makes things difficult for him. He can be bullheaded and stubborn, to the point of causing massive fights among his peers.
Moody : Though typically an outgoing sort of 'bot Sideswipe can fall into deep bouts of depression after particularly violent battles. He knows this happens, and usually has to take some time off in order to pull himself out of it again. This'll remove him from the field for up to a week at a time, unless someone intervenes before to speed along the process.
Abilities:
Jet Judo
Hand-to-Hand combat
Front line fighter
Weaponry:
Dual blades
Long barreled rifle
Jet pack
Various smaller blades
History: Sideswipe and his twin were sparked towards the end of the Golden Age, right as the rigid caste system was founded for Cybertron. His formidible years under the caste system saw him doing whatever it took to make ends meet, to provide for he and his brother in whatever way he managed. This included more than just feeding and housing them both, as he tended to pamper his brother whenever the other didn't pay enough attention. This included leaving often expensive paints to encourage the artist that was his only family and introducing him several times to pretty femmes in an attempt to provide companionship as he worked long hours for them both.
Then Sunstreaker joined the gladiatorial rings of Kaon, and many of Sideswipe's efforts stopped. He chose to throw himself into the racing circuits, doing remarkably well due to his speed and ability to out think his competition. During the day he'd run odd jobs across Kaon, and at night he'd race the streets for credits. Anything to keep him distracted from his brother's antics. Which he hated but knew was for the best.
Things changed for him after he was banned from the street racing circuit for cheating. He couldn't make ends meet, and was afraid that if he said something to Sunstreaker about it, the other would take on more and more fights and maybe even get himself killed. So, in an effort to protect his twin, Sideswipe joined the fights alongside Sunstreaker. They were show stoppers, both of them lethal and adapting quickly to the rings, fast learners and ruthless in the ring itself. But Sideswipe slowly lost himself there.
He would black out in the middle of the fights as they got steadily more brutal in an attempt to provide more entertainment for those that watched. He would lose time, and it was only when others showed him footage that he realized he had no memory of the fight after the first hit occurred. And this scared him, but he didn't want to leave without his brother. Eventually, he sunk so far into a battle rage that he even attacked Sunstreaker, finally bringing to light that everything was not alright with the red twin.
Though they started on the side of a former ring fighter called Megatronus, once it became clear that Sideswipe was losing his fight for his sanity the pair would join the Autobots. He doesn't remember the time clearly, but recalls that Sunstreaker pulled them from the rings to join up with Optimus Prime. It took years on a regular battle field, and the aquaintance of a medic named Ratchet, before Sideswipe stopped falling into his battle rages. He learned to channel his energy into whatever he chose to do, rather during a fight or in pranking various Autobots around the base.
As the war raged on he always managed to stick close to his sibling, fighting at his side and adapting any tactics he had to working as part of a pair. They were an unstoppable force, just as long as they stuck together. They had survived that far together, and would continue to survive together. It had kept them alive, kept them mostly sane. Until recently, that is. The chaos of the Exodus separated him from Sunstreaker, and he's fought his way across the universe looking for him. After chancing on a transmission from Optimus, Sideswipe has finally made his way to Earth in search of his faction and his brother.
Roleplay/Writing Sample:
Well this was perfect. Middle of nowhere, backwater planet, and he was up to his axles in what he assumed was mud. It had better be mud, or he was throwing a tantrum fit for Sunstreaker. And worse, he was pretty sure his transformation cog was clogged by the stuff, so he couldn't transform and just get himself out. He didn't really care if the organic lifeforms of this planet saw him. They didn't matter in the long run, though he did find their culture fascinating in some respects.
He gunned his engine again, and the gathering crowd started pressing closer. He knew his altmode was some sort of fancy sports car, so he wasn't surprised by their interest. Sideswipe didn't expect any help. He wasn't going to be explaining why he needed someone bigger than him to come and get him, and he certainly wasn't going to deal with the ribbing he'd get by said mech after towing him out of the sticky mess he was stuck in.
At least he could laugh at his own expense, unlike some mechs he knew. It took him a bit to realize one of the organics was talking to him, and longer still to conjure up something presentable enough to talk to him with. "You need me to pull ya out there?" He looked the older human over then saw the beat up truck parked at the side of his mud-trap. Well, he could use this to his advantage, and he could be charming. He put on a bright smile.
"Sure could! This beauty has been stuck in that muck long enough."
"I feel ya man, it kills me to see such a gorgeous car caked that far up with..." He sniffed at it, "I think its manure."
Sideswipe had to do a quick internet search, and what he found horrified him, and it showed. "Oh Primus forbid...eeewww..." That must be why it was warm. At least he could get out of it now. Then he was going to face the perverted car wash. Because no way was he going back to base covered in this mess.
Primus hated him.
