Player Alias: Jaxrond
Character Name: Cyclonus
Allegiance: Neutral
Appearance Description:
Tall and broad, Cyclonus has a warrior’s stature. He carries himself with a certain regality and a grace that is surprising for a bot his size. With dark purple plating and highly stylized armor, Cyclonus resembles the Japanese samurai lords of the Feudal Era, who would model their armor after the oni of legend before riding into battle. As hardy and battle-ready as he though, he’s a much older model.
Despite his regality, Cyclonus’s faceplates are a bit…nightmarish. All sharp angles, burning red optics, and hollow cheeks, it’s no wonder he’s often mistaken for a Decepticon. Add the pair of horns that jut up from the front of his helm and the way he expresses grief by clawing his own faceplates with his talon-like digits, and it’s easy to see why he makes people uneasy.

Altmode: Cybertronian jet
Personality:
Reclusive – Stern – Disciplined – Intelligent – Commanding – Battle-hardened – Contemplative – Deeply caring – Loyal – Honorable – Patriotic – Spiritual – Wise - Proud
Cyclonus is a bot from a time long past, and it shows. He’s got some old-fashioned ideas, and is fluent in the Primal Vernacular simply because that was the era he’s from. Back in the day, when he was young and still had cheeks, he was a staunch follower of Nova Prime, to the point that he followed him straight into the Dead Universe at one point. It wasn’t loyalty to Nova himself, but a loyalty to Cybertron and all that it stood for. His patriotism knew no bounds, coming to light in the form of a fierce love of his homeworld.
Cyclonus was forged in a time when honor proved through battle was a big deal. As such, he’s a bot of few words, letting his actions speak for him. Unfortunately, this, combined with his introverted nature, means that he expresses himself in sometimes unhealthy ways. Like scratching up his own face. His time of forging also means that he is highly disciplined, as acting in such a manner befitting a warrior was very important in that time.
Despite what his current physical appearance and reclusive nature may suggest, Cyclonus is a very capable leader. He was a senior officer on the original Ark, and his ability to think quickly and respond to a situation, combined with his experience, makes him a formidable commander. Should he be in command of a group, or even just view an individual as being under his protection, there is nothing he would not do for them. As a commander, his honor would be at stake, and, as a protector, he has a sacred duty. Friendship does not come easily to Cyclonus, but it means a great deal to him. He could barely be standing and still come to the aid of those he cares about. That is where his intense loyalty settles, not within a faction, but with individuals or groups he has become an integral part of.
Strengths:
Experience- Cyclonus may have been removed from history for a time, but, he wasn’t just sitting around in the Dead Universe. The bot is nobody’s fool, and he’s been in enough battles to hold his own against even the most seasoned war veterans.
Endurance- His armor is made for battle, which means he can take a serious hit, but, his endurance doesn’t stop there. Pain seems to have no effect on him. Losing a limb, suffering a severe wound, it’s not enough to stop him. If it doesn’t kill him or completely incapacitate him, you can bet he’s still coming just through sheer willpower.
Intelligence- Cyclonus may not talk much, but he gets things. Maybe not highly scientific things, but the way people work, the way a battle will flow, how to organize a team, etc.
Loyalty- Cyclonus is deeply loyal to those he cares about. While he may not be the bot to sit there and exchange hugs and blatant displays of affection (no, really, please don’t), you can be sure that he has your back. He’ll also tell you when an idea is stupid and you shouldn’t be doing it because do you even regard personal safety?
Weaknesses:
For the Sake of Honor- Cyclonus’s honor is a big deal to him. He doesn’t take slights well, he doesn’t tolerate being talked down to, and any attempts to control him will likely backfire spectacularly. To put it simply, if someone were to threaten his honor, he will fight them. If that means taking on a much stronger opponent by himself, so be it.
Press On- Endurance is one thing, pushing on to the point of falling apart is another. And that’s just what he does. Don’t expect him to willingly visit the medibay unless he absolutely has to either. He’s too proud for that.
Solitary- Cyclonus has staring out a window and into the middle distance down to an art form. If you wonder where he is, it’s a good bet that he’s in his quarters, doing just that. His preference for being alone means that it takes him a long time to build interpersonal relationships. But, at least he’s a bot of habit, so he only has a few likely locations if you need him.
Loyalty- His loyalty may be a strength, but, there’s a flipside. He will run himself into the ground for others, emotionally, mentally, and physically.
Alcohol Tolerance- Cyclonus can be convinced to knock a few back with the bots…if he makes it through the first one, that is. The mech has no alcohol tolerance. He’ll drink, but he’s a moody and very musically-inclined drunk.
Abilities:
Battle Skills
Force of Will
Primal Vernacular Fluency
Use of a Great Sword
Weaponry:
Great Sword- One of the legendary swords used by the Circle of Light.
Horns and Claws- While not primarily a hand-to-hand fighter, Cyclonus is not above using his sharper body parts to gore an opponent. Optics are a personally favored weak point.
Canons- In his jet mode, Cyclonus has a pair of canons used for strafing and aerial combat.
Oxidation Missiles- Two panels on Cyclonus’s sides fold up to release missiles, three from each side. These are small, not doing a great deal of damage unless a very direct hit is scored.
*It should be noted that Cyclonus is capable of using a wide array of weaponry, including guns. He just usually does not.
History:
Forged in the Clavis Aurea culture of Upper Tetrahex, Cyclonus spent his formative years memorizing the catechism of the Guiding Hand and worshiping in the shadow of the Titans, before they departed with the Knights of Cybertron aboard. When war swept over Cybertron’s surface for the first time, he joined forces with Galvatron, who, in turn, joined with Nova Prime.
Six million years ago, Cyclonus was made a senior officer on the first Ark, and departed Cybertron with Nova and the Prime’s inner circle. When Nova plunged them into the Dead Universe, Cyclonus became an undead entity, unable to exist in the ordered universe for more than a short period at a time and unable to return to Cybertron, his beloved home. He was trapped, serving Nova.
Nova began to wage war from within the Dead Universe, using Galvatron and Cyclonus as his agents in the ordered universe. At one point, their battling even brought them briefly to Earth. During the course of this war, Cyclonus began to take issue with some of Galvatron’s methods, which led to Galvatron controlling him and using him to attack Cybertron. When Galvatron made an effort to destroy their homeworld, he lost his hold on Cyclonus, who angrily, but futilely attacked him, driven by fury at having been used against his home. This particular battle ended with Galvatron being driven back to the Dead Universe and Prime’s resurrection of Cybertron via the Matrix. Cyclonus’ close proximity to the energy put off by the Matrix gave him a ‘new lease on life’ completely rejuvenating his spark and saving him from the lasting effects of the Dead Universe.
After Cybertron’s resurrection, it was no longer the Cybertron that Cyclonus knew and loved. As such, he departed on the Lost Light, despite facing a great deal of distrust from the captain and crew. He has slowly gained a place among them, becoming an invaluable member of the crew and a loyal friend to many on board. When the Lost Light inexplicably appeared near Earth, Rodimus went down to the planet to ascertain the situation. Then, contact was lost. Cyclonus took it upon himself to follow the captain, believing himself to be strong enough to give Rodimus aid if he should need it, and not valuable enough to the command structure that his possible loss would be of significant impact.
