Characters: Deathsaurus, Open to All Location: Inaccessible Island cliffs, Tristan da Cunha Content Warnings: Some language Plot Summary: Deathsaurus finds himself teleported from his warworld onto an organic planet, but not the one he was expecting due to unforeseen malfunctions.
He had stepped upon the teleporter aboard his ship, having personally decided to check out the more recent planet they had come across in their path of conquest. He had been feeling bored and in need to get out of the ship for a while, feeling himself going stir crazy. Even Esmeral had suggested he lead a mission himself for the first time in weeks and Deathsaurus had gladly taken the opportunity the moment a new potential planet had come to their attention.
As per usual, with the Predacon General normally taking point, he had been the first to step into the teleporter before any of his crew did. Though the device had been facing issues lately, he had been assured the problem had been fixed...until it had started sparking and giving off an unpleasant sound that had made Deathsaurus' optics widen. Before he could tell one of his men to shut it down he found himself suddenly sent away through a portal, the last thing he saw being his Conjunx's look of worry and shock as he was sent away. He had hoped, by some miracle of Primus, the teleporter had sent him to the correct planet. But, the moment his feet touched upon rock and lush grass, the sound of water crashing against the steep rocky cliffs, he knew for certain this was far from the right planet. Maybe even the wrong galaxy.
For twenty minutes he tried calling the warworld, but all he got was static. The same was for the private channels to his right hand bot, Leozack, and his own Conjunx, Esmeral. There was no response and he winced each time he got static feedback. With a sigh, he finally let his hand drop to his side, wings shifting in irritation. "Guess I'll be reshuffling my technician staff." He muttered, giving a look at his surroundings, finding himself on a large chunk of islands, and in the distance what appeared to be volcanic mountains. Well, he had certainly landed on an organic planet, but definitely not the intended one. 'Perfect.' He thought with a grumble, coming near the cliff side to peer down at the rough, salty waves of the ocean crashing against the island's sides.
Well, seemed it was time for the next best thing.
Pressing two fingers to the side of his helm once more, Deathsaurus tried the secured but open Decepticon frequencies, "This is General Deathsaurus reaching out to any nearby Decepticons. I've arrived on this...organic planet, its name I know not. If anyone is hearing this, I require assistance."
Ray's optics squinted at the device she held in her servo. She was supposed to be scouting for energon, but now it was detecting a life signal as well. Not far from where she was as well. She looked at the direction of the life signal. It was definitely nearby. She paused for a moment looking at the blue sky deep in thought. Should she call base, or investigate this herself? One one hand this was her very first solo mission on Earth and she wanted to take initiative. However, on the other hand she knew that jumping into something head first was never a good idea. Her denta lightly chewed her lower mouthplate and she turned away from the sky and back to the direction of the signal. It wouldn't hurt the just check for herself would it? If any trouble came up she could just call base and ask for reinforcements. Beside this could be a bot in need of help.
And if not. . . Ray's servos brushed the sharp energon cutlass at her side. I could protect myself.
Taking in a deep breath through her vents she transformed began to speed over towards the life signal. Still deep in thought she ran over the possible scenarios. If this was a bot in need of medical assistance she would probably be able to do a rough patch job. But what if it was a Decepticon? A con wouldn't be so pleased to see her. If that was the case she would have to take the con head on, which she most definitely not want to do. Ray began to slow down as she approached the life signal. She came to a full stop and transformed. From this moment on she would have to use her bot mode, her engine was to loud in her alt mode.
With her servo tightly clutching the small device and her other rapped around the handle of her pistol. She crouched low in an attempted to hide herself from whatever the life signal was coming from. Her spark beating faster as she got even closer.
A few more moment passed, and there was no response. Perhaps he was just out of range for his message to reach anyone, or no one was there on the planet. Then again, Deathsaurus wouldn't be overly shocked of being ignored considering his reputation over the years. Either way, it didn't appear he was going to be joining any Decepticons any time soon. "Guess I'm investigating this mudball until I figure out how to call home, or get someone to respond." He grumbled, running a hand over his face in annoyance at how this day was going.
Turning away from the ocean below, Deathsaurus began making his way more inland than where he was now. His four optics scanning over the landscape once more, eyeing the mountains in the distance. Perhaps he could gain a better signal at a higher altitude. It was a thought, but one that could wait for a little while. As much as he wanted to get answers and hope to Primus there was some kind of contingent of Decepticons around, he wasn't all too keen to chance coming across some of the less than savory characters among their kind. Although, that would probably end up being the unfortunate possibility as he trekked along, not seeing much in this part of the planet other than rock, grass, and mountains.
That was when Deathsaurus stopped. He could have sworn he had heard an engine in the distance, causing him to turn and tilt his helm for a moment, listening. The sound had disappeared as soon as he heard it. Was the wind playing tricks on his audios in such a strange place? Perhaps. He was chocking it up to just that, a trick of the wind.
Shaking his helm, Deathsaurus continued to walk closer and closer to an unexpected guest, who he spotted only at brief moments, causing him to stop. At first he thought he had only been seeing things, until he caught the occasional flash of orange and red, which wasn't difficult to miss in such a barren looking landscape, in a place that offer little cover. "An A for effort." He mumbled as he reached back, resting his hand upon the hilt of his blade. "I would stop trying to hide whoever you are, your color scheme doesn't exactly scream stealth." Deathsaurus spoke in a commanding and unimpressed tone, "Come out now, before I start tearing up the landscape to make you."
Ray cursed under her breath as she heard the mech call out to her. Her cover was officially blown, thanks to her bright paint job. From what she had seen of the mech he was /huge/. Far bigger than her anyway. And he was heavily armored to top it all off. But Ray knew that the bigger they are, the slower. If she played her cards right he wouldn't be able to land a hit on her. But if he did, well, one swipe would probably knock her on her aft in no time. She placed the energon seeking device back on her hip so both her servos would be free. She figured that if the situation turned sour she would need both her servos for battle. With her right servo still rapped around the handle of her cutlass she stood from her hiding place.
She made sure to keep a good distance away from the decepticon, who knew what else he was capable of. Immediately she was filled with a sense of nervousness. She was no standing at her full height and this mech towered over her easily. Her bright baby blue optics noticed that he too had a blade with him. Her grip on her own weapon tightened, her nervousness only spiking higher as she realized just who this con was. General Deathsaurus. She had never personally met the general, but she had hear countless stories. His strength and cruelness could only be matched by that of Megatron. At least that was what she had heard. She used her other servo to try and call base to report this newcomer, but all she got was static.
She cursed once again turned her attention back to the con. Not only was she trapped her with a dangerous and very experienced decepticon warrior, she was also out of communications range. With fear ever present in her optics the femme forced herself to focus. Venting slight she relaxed her form searched the mech for any possible weak spot. The knee-joints might do it, but I'd have to get pretty close for that, Ray thought to herself. But he hasn't shown any signs of aggression yet. So I must wait. For now.
Deathsuaurus waited, hand tightening slightly on his blade as he watched Ray move. It didn’t take her long to reveal herself and almost immediately he had stopped slowly drawing his blade.
Her insignia was not difficult to find, confirming that she was no Decepticon. But it wasn’t what stopped him. No, the feral looking Decepticon has stopped himself the moment he realized the one trying to hide was a femme, his chilvarous side kicking in at that moment. But, he could see she was just as prepared as he was to attack, seeing fear flashing in her optics no doubt due to his size and appearance. Deathsaurus easily towered over this femme, his height and bulk doing what he was hoping; fear and intimidation was his end game after all. And for the moment, it was doing just that as a warning to even this enemy he wasn’t easily messed with.
“Autobot, go figure I would meet one of you here.” Deathsaurus spoke, mostly to himself at the end. It confirmed then that Cybertronians did indeed walk upon this planet. But it had yet to confirm if any Decepticons were here as well. But maybe he could find out. “What is your designation little femme? And where exactly are we?” He asked in a low growl, his tone slightly commanding still but somewhat less harsh than it had been.
For now, he let his hand drop from the hilt of his broadsword. Ray was giving him no reason to act immediately, so he for now simply watched her closely, his top optics eyeing her hand that rested upon one of her weapons. They were both prepared for the worse, and though he did not wish to harm Ray, he would defend himself if she attacked first.
Ray was snapped out of her concentration when she heard mech speak once more. His low commanding growl sending chills down her spinal strut the second it hit her audio receptors. Ray contemplated whether or not she should give this mech her designation. Her optics looked towards the decepticon's face plate. He had a very, feral look to him. Her first thought was that perhaps he was a predacon of some sort. He did have fierce look of one for sure. And if that truly was the case, Ray was in more danger than she had originally anticipated.
Those things were bred to kill, and she had never had experience going one on one with a predacon before. This only added to her list of worries. She was stuck alone with a decepticon, who also turned out to be one of their infamous generals, /and/ he was a predacon. She had heard tales of these creatures. One had even come close to taking Ultra Magnus offline. Desperately she tried her best to shake the fears from her mind.
You'll be fine. If he attacks I can protect myself. I am capable. He doesn't seem to want a fight either, She thought to herself with herself forcing herself to keep her voice steady.
"I am Ray," She answered loosening her grip on her weapon as she looked the mech in the optics. "And this planet is called Earth."
The small femme contemplated whether or not she should say more, or ask a question of her own. After a moment of contemplating she decided, why the frag not? "I doubt you came here for the view Deathsaurus. Pray tell, what brings you to this lovely planet?"
Deathsaurus stared down the femme, watching her closely. She wasn't answering him right away, seeming to be contemplating this situation a fair bit. Perhaps his not immediate attacking of her was surprising or she didn't know what to make of this unexpected encounter. Quite frankly, he had not been expecting to meet any Autobots so soon after the couple of planets ago where they had found a few hiding out. But with his well-trained crew and sheer numbers, they had been easily torn apart and taken care of.
But, his patience was slowly waning. He was already irritated at the fact his teleporter had malfunctioned when he had been told it was working fine, but the silence from Ray was working his last nerve. He even opened his mouth to tell her to say something before she finally did. Now they were getting somewhere.
"Earth..." Deathsaurus repeated quietly, feeling a vague recognition stir for a moment. The name of this planet seemed to ring some bells, like he had forgotten a time he had actually set foot here. But that was impossible. He had never been this far out in his missions, nor was the planet cyberformed like any others. Perhaps he had just heard a similar name somewhere, causing him to dismiss these vague feelings. "Well, now we're getting somewhere, Ray." He answered her at last, but paused to consider her own question.
"I'm not here by choice my brightly colored foe. Rather, I had intended for a different organic planet, but malfunctioning teleporters and space bridges aren't exactly the most predictable technology." Deathsaurus answered, not exactly telling her much but at the same time he was. But it wasn't exactly anything compromising for his crew or his faction. It was the honest truth, as hard as that was to believe from a Decepticon. But he raised an optic ridge, "And I would hardly call this organic filth beautiful little one. Seeing an organic planet turn into a cyberformed world, glittering metal from their suns...now that's beauty."
Ray rolled her optics at the cheap shot the con took at her paint job. Another reminder that she should probably change her colors into something less, bright. However, she quickly resumed her focus on the con listening closely to his words. A teleporter malfunction? That sounded reasonable. She once again rolled her optics at his 'organic filth' comment but her helm perked upward at the mention of Cyberforming.
"Cyberforming? But doesn't that wipe out the entire population of a planet? Including plant life?" Ray questioned. She didn't know much about plans of the decepticons, but she knew that cyberforming Earth into the new Cybertron was probably one of them.
Despite missing her home immensely Ray had grown to love this planet dearly. It's beautiful sunsets, starry nights, high mountains and crystal blue skies. Why so many Cybertronians, some Autobots included, disliked Earth was beyond her. She had made even made a human friend of her own. One she vowed to protect, as well as all other life on this planet as part of her oath as an Autobot.
"And I personally beg to differ. From my experience I have come to find that underneath it's organic surface it is quite lovely," Ray commented finally lifting her servo from her weapon and resting it on her hip. She could not believe that she was actually having an honest conversation with a Decepticon. Who seemed to have no intentions of harming her, at least thus far. She never would've believed that she would ever have a decent conversation with a Con, one that was not rude nor sarcastic in anyway. It seems that by some miracle of the Primus she found the one and only Con in this side of the galaxy that wasn't a liar or a cheat. And just her luck to.
"Yo no puedo creer que yo estoy hablando con un Decepticon (I can't believe I'm talking to a Decepticon)" Ray said out loud more to herself than anyone else. She didn't bother being quiet it's not like the large mech would understand her anyway.
"Ah, so someone familiar with the process. Not everyone bothers to do their research, but then again I suppose the effects are obvious." Deathsaurus stated, rubbing his chin in thought. "Yes, I suppose the risk is ending innocent life. But, there is always a cost for war and progress, Ray. Cyberforming is one of the important steps if we hope to make progress to regaining our home planet." But he merely shook his head, "Or, making a new Cybertron, smaller ones out the seeds of races who are well beneath our kind."
Deathsaurus' tone held no regret for his transgressions. In the eyes of their enemies, it was downright wrong and murder, but in the eyes of himself and his fellow Decepticons, it was a step towards rebuilding and hope. Besides, in his many years in this war he had learned, among many others, that organic life could be just as hostile and dangerous to their kind as any war between separate factions. But, there was always a high price to pay in campaigns towards renewal.
"But, if it settles your concerns a little, we do make some attempts to show mercy, but only to a select part of the populations." The large mech said, tone dismissive since he doubted they would get far in this conversation. It was clear their views were deeply divided of what should be done and what shouldn't, as was the case with many Autobots and Decepticons. Besides, that wasn't the point of him having this conversation with Ray to begin with. And despite her next words she spoke, with words he wasn't familiar with, he dismissed the possible notion she had said something smart or simply added a comment in she did not wish him to hear. He had other concerns at hand.
"But our opposing views towards progress isn't exactly why I don't just leave you here to worry about whatever your missions is."Deathsaurus spoke once more, "If you Autobots are roaming around, that normally means Decepticons are never far behind. So tell me, have any others of my faction come to this planet?"
