Player Alias:
Kavac
Character Name:
Botanica
Allegiance:
Techno-Organic Cybertronian, Maximals
Appearance Description:
There's never been a Cybertronian who looks quite like Botanica does, and there won't be for a solid few more million stellar cycles. Her techno-organic body is coated in earthen greens, browns and yellows, topped off by a pair of bright emerald-green optics. While she is clearly robotic in appearance, an untrained observer might mistake her for a walking tree, which wouldn't be an incorrect assessment. Some of her more notable features include her arms, which are able to separate themselves at the elbow to provide her with an additional set of limbs, and Windshear, Botanica's faithful research drone mounted upon her chest.
Botanica has updated her previous alt mode after venturing out to the mainland again, this time choosing the form of a modern BMW M5 F90.
Personality:
As gentle as a spring breeze and as nurturing as a mountain stream, Botanica is exceptionally kind and well-mannered. Despite being a scientist first and foremost, she is far more extroverted than some of her Autobot and Decepticon contemporaries, preferring to share her work with others rather than seclude herself in some stuffy laboratory. An optimist and pacifist (to a point) above all else, Botanica prefers to see the good in people, as well as the optimal outcome to any situation set upon her. To her credit however, this may stem from her naivete. By modern standards, she is quite young, only 866 stellar cycles of age. Her comparative inexperience hasn't prevented any strong moral convictions from forming though, and Botanica is a staunch defender of life in all shapes and forms, organic or metal.
If pushed far enough however, Botanica's ever-present sterner side emerges. If the situation calls for it, she is perfectly willing to take life if the end results in a life saved. She is not one to be bullied or intimidated, and will oftentimes push back with appropriate force if she, or those she cares about are threatened. Her fierce attitude towards protecting her friends may just stem from the very spark that she herself stemmed from...
Strengths + Weaknesses:
+Devotion to Life - All life is sacred to a techno-organic, and Botanica is no exception. Her strongest conviction remains even while marooned in the distant past, which in turn is a result of her own past, and the past of the Maximals as well.
+Sharp Mind - Botanica is intelligent beyond her years, coming from an age in history where modern Cybertronian science is considered the stone age. Her primary area of expertise revolves around biomechanical organisms as well as botany, but she is not limited to either.
-Naive - She's far from ignorant about the past, but Botanica hasn't ever lived it until now. There are a great many technicalities and complications that she's unaware of due to her upbringing in the future.
-Ends justify the means - If one evil is performed to prevent a greater one, Botanica has no compulsions whatsoever. This carries with it any number of meanings, from shedding off her pacifism to save lives, or to sacrificing herself and/or others for the greater good.
Abilities:
Techno-Organic - Like every other Cybertronian from her age, Botanica is 100% biomechanical. Organic and metallic compounds bonded at the cellular level comprise her very being, and also provide her with the strengths of both. Despite this, Botanica's abilities have always been borderline supernatural when compared with the rest of her techno-organic brothers and sisters, in addition to the powers normally afforded to her.
Life Giver - Unlike other Techno-Organics, she is able to spontaneously generate new techno-organic life, in the form of plants. While marooned on Earth, she has taken to growing a garden. Her connection to plant life affords her the ability of agrokinesis, as well.
Nanosurgeon - Without the need for any equipment whatsoever, Botanica is capable of performing medical miracles on both herself, and others. Her cellular structure heals itself at an impressive rate, allowing her to bounce back from otherwise debilitating injuries, an ability she frequently uses to aid her allies as well. These abilities also prevent Botanica from being healed through conventional Cybertronian means, such as a CR Chamber. Through direct contact, Botanica is even able to influence and manipulate certain aspects about a living being, from discoloring their paint job to temporarily altering their perception of time.
Immunity - Like the rest of her kin, she is completely immune to pathogens, diseases and other ailments, both organic and Cybertronian.
No Signature - Botanica gives off no distinct energy signature, as every other Transformer in the past does, despite the fact that she still possesses a spark. To other Cybertronians, she simply reads like a regular organic lifeform.
Basic Flight - While there are plenty of Maximals with the ability of flight on Neo-Cybertron, they're all birds or other avians. Botanica presents herself as a rarity, having the ability to fly as well. Despite this, it is not one of her strongest powers, only able to hover off the ground for extended periods of time. As such, she sticks to land-based transportation most of the time.
Weaponry:
Bio-Electricity - Botanica is capable of using her cells in such a way to generate an immensely strong bio-electrical current. This power sometimes manifests itself as powerful blasts of lightning from her hands, or as a massive shield surrounding her body. That being said, her bio-electrics are far more powerful than any modern conventional Cybertronian weapons; lucky for her enemies, she's a pacifist most of the time.
History:
In the distant future of a war-weary age, the last Autobot returned to Cybertron as the planet entered its final years, dead and devoid of life. As he gazed over the now peaceful and barren landscape of the planet that was once his home, he knelt down to the ground, passing on into the afterspark. This was not Cybertron's end as perhaps the Autobot had thought, however. As Cybertron once gave him life, so did he give Cybertron. The Autobot's life force was absorbed by the dead planet, kick starting the cycle of life anew. Surely but slowly, the energy of life returned to the ancient and battered world, ensuring that it would rise from the dead one day soon.
A little over a year later, and life returned to Cybertron. Emerging from Cybertron's new organic core was Botanica, the first of a new generation of Transformers. She traveled the planet as more and more of her brothers and sisters awoke alongside her, marveling at how life had found a way to return from the brink of oblivion. The self-proclaimed Maximals then scoured their home planet from top to bottom, securing vital caches of technology and knowledge from times past, using it to build a techno-organic utopia on Cybertron.
Over the next several hundred years Cybertron became a beautifully lush world, complete with sprawling forests and vast oceans, all a perfect synthesis of metal and organic compounds. Botanica quickly established herself as a leading intellectual on Neo-Cybertron, using her abilities to further science to new heights. Roughly 800 years after Cybertron's rebirth, the Maximals had spread out among the stars like their ancestors had hundreds of millions of years prior, establishing colony after colony. Botanica herself left the planet as part of a millennia-long scientific sojourn, intent on learning the secrets of the universe. In the end, she wasn't ready for it.
Only a few months into her voyage, Botanica's research vessel was set upon by a cross-temporal anomaly which ripped her clean out of the timestream. The ship was hurled back into real space in the year 1952, around a little blue ball named Earth. Crashing down on an uncharted island in the center of the Pacific Ocean, Botanica found herself in both an unfamiliar place and time, stranded without hope of rescue. In spite of it all, her optimism would not be broken; she converted the remains of her ship into a makeshift research station in the caverns beneath the island, using the peace and quiet over the years to formulate a plan to return to the future.
