Characters: @victoryleo, @deathsaurus Location: Mount Olympus, Greece Content Warnings: N/A Plot Summary: Victory Leo has tracked down a scouting party of Vehicons, but unbeknownst to him, he's been tracked as well.
Whatever these Decepticons were doing before Victory Leo arrived, they didn't seem very pleased to see him. He'd been flying through the skies above Europe for the past few hours, using the solitude among the clouds to clear his head and keep himself calm. They'd picked each other up on their scanners at roughly the same time, just as Leo crossed into Greece's airspace. The Autobots hadn't received any intelligence regarding Vehicons in this area, so Leo assumed he'd simply come across a scouting party of some form. Either way, he'd still be getting an activity to keep himself busy with.
They weren't very numerous at first glance, less than ten Vehicons perhaps. If he were to have any semblance of a good time, Leo would need to ration them very carefully. Scattering the moment the V22 started to drop altitude, the Decepticons had only made it easier to be cornered. The VTOL's side-mounted cannons opened fire on the first pair of drones that came into range, peppering their alt-modes with dozens of holes, culminating in a pair of violet-hued explosions. The veritable hawk then turned around, turbines blasting at full tilt, towards the rest of his proverbial prey.
By the time Victory Leo was through, the battlefield was littered by craters and scattered Vehicon parts. Not so entertaining, but the job was done. The V22 transformed mid-air, slamming down to the ground below. Amidst the destruction Victory Leo bent his arms together, running through the engagement in his head a few more times. He hadn't needed to transform at all the entire time, meaning he was starting to get the feel of being an aircraft instead of a truck for the first time. The Autobot hoped he'd get the chance to come across another scouting party, if only to test his robot and lion modes.
His search for other Decepticons had proven quite futile since he had made the mistaken jump to Earth. And the general had yet to hear word back from his warworld ship, which only made him suspect his coms were not being caught from being far too out of range. What was even more irritating was that his pings towards any Decepticons had also gone unanswered, making him wonder if any Decepticons were even on this planet after all. His only success was finding a single Autobot, who seemed to confirm his suspicions that the war had moved to this organic backwater dirtball.
Deathsaurus let out a deep vent as he soared over the European continent, by now far from where he had originally landed. So far, nothing jumped out at him as being interesting or worth noting as he used the clouds for cover, occasionally coming from hiding to scan around an area that seemed promising. But he was always unsuccessful...until something caught his attention. A scent he had not come across in many years, one he thought he never would come across again, Ginrai, or as he was going by now, Victory Leo. Now that was a promising find, if at least worth giving him some entertainment for a while.
Tracking the scent, Deathsaurus eventually found himself coming upon the sight of an unfortunate massacre of Vehicons. The drones Megatron often employed in his game of war, the first confirmation that Decepticons did reside here, and possibly Megatron himself and his inner circle. The Decepticon general did not linger on his suspicions, rather focusing on the sorry sight of the drone warriors being taken out so easily, which was no surprise. But, it seemed Victory Leo may yet prove a challenge. "So, Saber's loyal pet is prowling around this backwater planet, how amusing. I figured you would be trailing after him like the wounded, obedient animal you've become Ginrai." Deathsaurus chuckled as he landed some yards away from the triple changer, glancing around the short battle field in his Predacon form.
Yes, truly pitiful performance on his Master's prized soldiers. "But fair to say they were just an appetizer for your need lust for battle." Deathsaurus transformed with a sneer on his face, cracking his knuckles. "WOuldn't you agree?"
Victory Leo's body seized up, refusing to move an inch. His body had protested his commands before, but this was unreal. A moment later he registered the problem; he was absolutely boiling with rage. Rage directed at him. Despite the fact that Deathsaurus was standing a healthy distance from Victory Leo, his words were as clear as day. The Autobot turned to face his former tormentor, his body seething upon seeing the Decepticon again. Animal was an apt descriptor, but wounded and obedient couldn't have been farther away from what Ginrai had become.
It wasn't Deathsaurus's taunts and provocations that got a rise out of his intended target, but the simple gesture of popping his knuckles that did it. For once, Victory Leo and Ginrai wanted the same thing. Their mind and body were perfectly synced, driven towards the singular goal of ripping Deathsaurus's smug face in half and feeding it to him afterwards. Instead of a violent retort or a proclamation of justice, Victory Leo only had the following to say with the most malicious grin upon his face, "Yes, I do agree. It is unfortunate that you've decided to engage me alone."
A deafening roar burst forth from Victory Leo's very core, shaking the throne of the gods itself. He could feel it once more, that special spark; his bestial body intended to use absolutely every last drop of it. A magnificent green glow enveloped the raging Autobot, only growing with time. Star Saber wasn't here to hold him back or to stay his hand from what needed to be done. Deathsaurus had no hidden superweapons, legions of troops or combiners at his disposal to hinder their conflict. There was no better time for a showdown.
The roaring ceased. The glow around Victory Leo's body had been replaced by loose discharges from his spark chamber, practically overflowing with anticipation and power. "Deathsaurus... I am going to destroy you..."
Victory Leo charged, although flew would be a more apt word to describe his sudden motion, towards Deathsaurus. He'd set the terms of their engagement the moment he'd been stupid enough to not open fire on the Autobot straight away. Though, perhaps Ginrai was simply hoping the battle would have terms to govern it. Knowing his opponent, Victory Leo would be on his guard for any hints of deception.
The deafening roar that shook the very ground beneath them and to Deathsaurus' very core probably should have scared the general. He probably should be running or even backing off like any bot in their right mind. Instead, Deathsaurus felt excitement coursing through him, his spark pulsing with delight at the prospect of testing out Ginrai's new form for himself.
Truth be told, it had been several years since he had caused the destruction and near death of his arch rival's closest friend and ally. And he had figured Ginrai would have been one with the Allspark by this point, yet, somehow standing before him, was the reformatted Ginrai in person. And fortunately for him, and others, Star Saber had destroyed the very weapon he had used to accomplish such a feat. "Unfortunate? No Ginrai, I call it luck." Deathsaurus responded, a fanged grin forming on his face plates as he reached back, grabbing hold of his shield and brought it forward in anticipation of the showdown that was to come. "Quite frankly, its been far, far too long since I personally engaged you or Star Saber."
Deathsaurus actually wanted this. He wanted a real challenge, the sweet taste of real one-on-one combat he had not experienced in so long. Thus, the Predacon general shifted into a prepared stance, optics narrowing as Victory Leo launched right at him head on. That was different. Nevertheless, he remained ready until Victory Leo was just close enough and Deathsaurus lifted himself upwards into the air, just avoiding the triple changer, "Head on charge Ginrai? How unlike you. Getting reckless in our new form are we?" Deathsaurus called to him, turning in the air and diving towards the lion-former, intending to ram into Victory Leo shield first.
He had half expected to hit empty air on the first punch. Victory Leo needed to test the waters before diving off the deep end first, of course. The Autobot shot his gaze upwards to see Deathsaurus hanging in the air like a knife pointed straight at his spark. As the Decepticon dove down towards him, the resolve boiling up in Leo's spark only bubbled higher. Many things had changed since they'd last done battle together...
Victory Leo had every intention to show his opponent that the changes he'd undergone were far from cosmetic. Prior to Deathsaurus blowing a hole in his chest, Ginrai had been a compassionate and cautious leader, always moving forward with a healthy dose of trepidation. He always had Star Saber to back him up in any situation, on the battlefield or off of it. But for Ginrai to repay the favor even once, it had cost him everything. Such a great leader, so great that he relied on his best friend to fight his battles for him. He would never fail his friend so dearly again.
The sound of the punch hit the air after it impacted against the shield. Victory Leo fired off an uppercut so devastatingly fast that it broke the sound barrier, straight into the middle of Deathsaurus' shield. A full force punch from a point one percenter wasn't good enough for the Emperor of Destruction though, and they both knew it. A barrage of titanic blows followed soon after. Victory Leo was going to crush him through any means necessary. He owed Star Saber that much.
The first blow Deathsaurus would have expected, the following blows somewhat caught him off guard.
At first, the vosian-turned-Predacon braced himself against the blows, each jolting his frame, one right after the other. It was enough to throw Deathsaurus off balance and cause him to stumble slightly and a following block knocking him off his feet. "Hmm, guess you're stronger than I initially anticipated already." He mumbled, knowing Victory Leo wouldn't relent just because he had been knocked off his feet.
Instead, Deathsaurus decided to change tactic. He wanted to fight like a beast, what better way to test it than to fight another beast? Growling, the Predacon general transformed to his dragon mode, growling softly as he stepped forward, "Now, how about we do this the fun way, hm? Beast to beast." He growled, charging Victory Leo head on once more, lashing out with his front claws, intending to make Victory Leo work for any chance of victory in this fight.
Victory Leo broke off his assault as Deathsaurus the moment he decided to change the terms of their engagement. He dashed backwards to give himself some distance from the claws in particular, wanting a moment to himself to contemplate. He hated having to fight on the terms of his enemy on one hand, but on the other, there was nothing better he could think to do. Deathsaurus wanted a real show from his opponent, despite not knowing in the slightest what he was in for.
In any case, he was happy to oblige.
"Fighting a toothless dragon hardly seems fun, but since you've asked..."
Leo smashed his hands into the earth beneath him, a set of claws sliding forward in their place. Within a moment, he stood as a majestic winged lion, with an excess of guns and teeth. Victory Leo gave off a proud roar, happily displaying off his powerful new form, and inviting all who would witness it to try their hand at besting it. The twin superconductor cannons mounted in between Leo's wings let loose a blast in Deathsaurus's general direction. Even if the dragon was fast enough to dodge, which he most likely was, the punch behind those cannons was enough to split durasteel. If he had any compunctions about Victory Leo using ranged weaponry, then it had been unwise of Deathsaurus to invite him to fight to the fullest.
Seeing the majestic new form Victory Leo could take, Deathsaurs could only give a fanged grin at the new possibilities. His arch enemy formerly known as Ginrai seemed even a greater challenge than he could ever have hoped for. Even after all this time, and after nearly dying from his previously most powerful weapon Deahsaurus had once had on hand, the Autobot still had a fighting spirit. Though, even he would admit that was an understatement.
Narrowing his optics, Deathsaurus gave his large wings a few powerful flaps to dodge the blast, feeling the heat behind the blast that barely missed his tail. Yet, there seemed an unfortunate flaw to the powerful kitty cat, "Any fun? Ha! I forgot how much fun it was to goad you into a fight, Ginrai." Deathsaurus sneered. Victory Leo seemed more short of temper, more eager to jump into a fight when it was offered, especially with an old enemy. "But toothless you say? How about I prove you wrong." With a snarl, Deathsaurus launched himself towards the Autobot feline, intending to dig his claws and teeth right into his frame.
It may have been a centuries since the two had engaged in combat, but just as Victory Leo was more than prepared for payback, Deathsaurus was prepared to make the feline feel his wrath all over again.
