Marie had heard that the human liason for the Autobots had returned from vacation and, so, had been totally non-creepily watching him from afar from a perch on the couch in the control room Thus far, he seemed generally stressed...good grief, chilling with Jetfire in his lab was so much easier than approaching another human. But, this had to be done. She couldn't just wander a government base without at least announcing herself. She was an adult woman for goodness sake.
It was this internal pep talk that prompted her to practically spaz off the couch and down the steps when the agent came up onto the human platform at last. Moving a bit too quickly to be normal, she all but jumped the man.
"Hi! I'm Marie Knight, linguist and recent inductee into this craziness," she stuck out a hand, trying to ignore the fact that she had just ambushed him, "Nice to meet you."

Fowler jumped out of his skin.
Of course Marie had caught him a little off-guard. He’d actually been having a relatively relaxing day so far. There wasn’t a lot going on and he’d gotten most of his paperwork caught up with. So he could finally take a deep breath and relax he had figured. Maybe go and catch up with the kids or other allies. But instead he got this, or so he assumed this was another issue only he could handle - he at least expected.
Smiling a little, however, he at least tried to look friendly. He’d been trying to work on that now that there were so many kids on base. That made them under his jurisdiction too, and he had to be more friendly and less imposing. Sure, this wasn’t exactly a kid, but she was still a civilian and that made it practice, or at least he thought so.
“Nice to meet you as well, Ms. Knight,” he nodded his head, shaking her hand. “What can I do for you today?”

Oh god, there she went. She had to fight the urge to smack a hand to her forehead. Her returning smile was a tiny bit strained as she internally berated herself. At least he was being nice...despite her sudden appearance out of freaking nowhere.
As soon as he released her hand after the shake, she hooked her thumbs in her jean pockets. So, this guy was a government agent. He certainly looked the part. It was a little nerve-wracking, actually. Was he actually one of those 'gonna lock you away so you can never tell what you've seen' agents? ...Nah. From what she'd heard of Optimus Prime, he wouldn't work with someone like that.
"Well, uh, I was talking with one of the bots, Rotor, I think, and she said I should introduce myself to you so it's not like 'woah, random person'. I don't know if there's any like...formal paperwork to do so..." she chuckled awkwardly, "I was honestly on my way home when I got jumped by an evil cat Decepticon thing? I think they said it was a Decepticon...anyway, Smokescreen saved me and then, like, abducted me...it was a weird day. And I feel like I'm rambling, so I'll stop now."
