Characters: @renegade, Chromia Location: Iacon Base Content Warnings: Major Violence, Minor Cussing Plot Summary: After being backstabbed by her second command (figuratively and literally) Renegade is dragged from the battlefield to Iacon. She is stunned, though the war looms ever closer to Iacon, and Chromia must convince Renegade to pull herself together.
Darkness reigned supreme whilst the Autobot party traveled through the wreckage, salvaging what was left of the previous battle. Puddles of dried energon lied scattered here and there. Bodies of opposing sides littered the field. It was not until the first explosion went off that Renegade knew that they'd been ratted out. But by who?
She barrel rolled out of the way, taking cover behind a piece of metal jutting from the ground upward. She fired at the oncoming forces. But there was something she could not have foreseen. She winced as she felt a blade pierce her mesh on the back, as the blade was twisted, then withdrawn. She collapsed, only to see through blurred vision who'd harmed her.
- End of Flash Back -
"...hhng..." The General muttered as she came about, jolting upright, before the doctors ushered her to lay back down. She could hardly see anything through the pain she still experienced, she wanted to call out for her second command's comfort, but.. alas. It appeared he was no longer there for her. Instead, she remained silent, gazing wistfully at the bright lights and polished ceiling.
"You'd think so, but I didn't! Tried breaking up the flow... with a rocket launcher."
"No... but I didn't say that, but I said something about knocking him down to size; does that count?"
Chromia stopped dead in her tracks as her gaze wandered over to the medbay. She was carrying what appeared to be a rocket launcher lengthwise over her shoulders, holding a holocall with somebody in particular. "I'll call you back, Windblade..." she returned, directing her attention to Renegade. Just as the Camien Autobot was about to enter the room, the length of the weapon perched on her shoulders prevented it.
"Warhead... 'ya mind?" she asked, seemingly to no one in particular.
"Oh, yeah. Sorry, no problem Chromia!" the rocket launcher replied, rolling backwards from it's perch. The weapon transformed into a somewhat lithe Autobot with a smile plastered on his face. "And uh, thanks for the help by the way."
Warhead gave a double thumbs-up before departing.
She took a few steps forward before noticing just how covered in soot and ash she was, which prompted her to take a moment to at least try to dust herself off. Chromia was only partially cleansed by the time she reached Renegade, though she didn't think she would mind too much. She folded her arms and leaned up against the wall nearest her bed, looking her over.
"Please don't tell me you stepped on a mine. You have wings, so, you know..."
As one of her soldiers, possibly the best, entered her room, she shifted on the medical berth. Her armor indeed did appear as if she’d taken a blow from a land mine, though, it was simply because she hadn’t had her armor buffed in a while.
She scoffed at Chromia’s comment, which quickly turned into pained coughing. She shook her helm rapidly, recovering from the sudden fit and then returning her attention to the cyan femme. She frowned slightly, shaking her helm. As a General, she’d always been inherently serious, though Renegade would occasionally toss out a wise crack here and there.
“If only. It appears Hijack is no longer with us. No, he’s not deceased... just... switched sides..”
She turned her helm away, resting one of her servos over her solar plexus.
“You and the others? You’re alright?”
She hissed as one of the mini-con sized doctors began sealing up her wound, nearly swatting him away. She stopped herself, grumbling deeply, she turned on her side, facing Chromia.
"Oh, you know, just busting up Decepticons in my spare time," she replied. There wasn't much else she had to do during the day besides that and protecting Windblade. Still though, there was this one guy, a big red weapons tech. She'd need to keep an eye on him for a while. Chromia refocused her attention to Renegade, sitting on a medical cot with a hole punched straight through her.
Hijack had never been a straight shooter in her book, and only now he seemed to have vindication on that front. She didn't care a great deal about most of these Cybertronains, but Renegade fell within the minority that she didn't mind, which was a rare honor. Her optics raised as an idea popped into her head. Cracking her knuckles, she asked, "So, you want me to kill him for you? I'll do it... I don't have to check back in for another two hours..."
