Player Alias: James
Character Name: James T. Kirk
Allegiance: Human
Appearance Description:
Jim is all lean muscle, standing at 6'0". He has sun-kissed blonde hair, shaved in a fade style on the back and side, and a longer flop styling on the top. His eyes are a light blue colour, crowned by thick friendly eyebrows. His face is usually adorned by a light stubble, but typically has a sweet lop-sided smile on it for any on-lookers. You might find him littered with a few cuts and bruises from time to time, after the occasional 'don't-want-to-talk-about-it'. Always, he's either wearing or lugging around an old dark brown and roughed up leather jacket. Jim is always in jeans, he knows they look good on his long legs so he takes it advantage of it; always paired with a dependable pair of boots or shoes for walking a long time in. What shirt is lying around that's clean? Is it white, black, does it have a logo on it? You'll probably find Jim wearing it and he'll say he looks good in it, and he'll insist the rest of the world agrees with him too.
Personality:
Jim is incredibly loyal, some would say to a fault, but it is his loyalty that earns him the respect of his friends. Speaking of friends, they will always tell you that a moment spent with him is never a dull one; he's a snarky one, but he's oh so fun to be around. Every moment spent with Jim is an adventure, he's got it in his DNA. Jim is incredibly confident in everything he does, even when he falters, that confidence will rise again. Impulsive? Incredibly, that's why he needs his friends to ground him, to let him know when it's time to take a breath and just listen; every once in a while he needs to be reminded that it's okay not to sprint everywhere.
Strengths + Weaknesses:
Strengths
Jim is incredibly confident in himself and his ideas most of the time, even when they're on the fly. He has an incredible sense of tactical intuition and can think out his game plan on whatever he's doing in the middle of doing it. He's incredibly curious about everything in the world and he's not afraid to go out and learn about it all. His bravery knows no bounds, whether it be something small, like making mentally taxing decision, or something actually physically dangerous, Jim is brave enough to try it and always up for the task. The most important things about are him loyalty he has for his friends and family, and the compassion he treats them with. Jim would leave no stone un-turned if a friend was in trouble, would lay down his life if need be.
Weaknesses
Although confident in himself and the decisions he makes, or things he tells other, Jim carries a lot of self-doubt on his shoulders from past bad-decision making; he's working on it. He can be a bit impulsive at times, but everyone chalks it up to how curious he is, they figure he's just so excited to get out and see whatever's out there. Of course, that curiosity has gotten him into trouble before; when you tend to want to go looking in every which direction you're bound to end up looking where not meant to. Jim's gotten into one too many fights that could've been avoided due to his own recklessness. Combine all that with the fact that Jim can be pretty secretive when it comes to talking about what's wrong with himself, or his own problems; it can turn into a big mess. Loyal friends have his back though right? Of course they do, but sometimes Jim's loyalty is so much that it's to a fault. He cares so much and it takes a lot out of him and when you end up having one of those "loyal" friends turn their back on you? It's not pretty.
Abilities:
Jim is a Genius (capital 'G'), but he won't brag about it, at least not in a way that you'll realize. He has a innate ability to outsmart a lot of the people he comes into contact with, be it with words or actions. He also swears he can hit any target dead center, eyes open or closed; and this is actually true. Jim isn't sure yet if this ability of his is ever going to be useful for something other than making bets with people and then winning their money.
Weaponry:
Jim is quick on his feet and knows how to use his fists well, in any given situation. In terms of actual weapons, he carries a pocket knife on him at all times. If the situation were to call for a more drastic weapon, he's smart enough to grab whatever he can and use it effectively. He has no license to carry a gun, which is why he doesn't, but has had the proper training to use one.
History:
Jim has had a bit of a rocky growing up in his 22 years of life, but nothing that hasn't shaken this young man to his core, at least not that he'll admit. His parents like to call him a "danger magnet" and no one had ever disputed it, not even him; even through the fire and flames of broken bones, car accidents, and near death experiences, this young man keeps his head high and makes his parents proud like no other. Always making something new to show them, always creating in his little "workshop" that started out in his room; until it became so big it had to move out into the shed.
"I'm gonna be an astronaut one day dad." Jim would always exclaim proudly. His parents would always proudly listen, no matter what they were in the middle of doing, they would let him ramble about the far off galaxies he would discover.
Ever since Jim was a child he excelled at school, through his smarts and creativity to problem solve in different ways. He was able to jump through hoops in his classes and catch up to his brother Sam in no time; the two were ever the competitive type, though playful about it. They bounced off each other, Jim learning all he could about "street smarts" before his brother went off to make the family proud marching in the military. What wasn't there to be proud of? To see that last name carrying on again just like their father's and grandfather's so long ago.
Until Sam didn't come back.
Jim shut himself in the shed every day for long periods of time for a while after that, trying to figure out the real answer to the "K.I.A" letter. Was he shot? Did those giant Transformers that the government is always covering up get him killed? Sam did work for a high up agency.
The more Jim dug, the more he read into the history of these beings, their planet, everything, the more interested he became. He couldn't stop. The curiosity was making his skin crawl and all of a sudden it was as if he forgot why he was looking in the first place. The only thing he was sure of now? Who were these Cybertronians and why exactly were they here?

Jim could’ve walked these halls with his eyes closed, and to many of the people he had passed that’s probably what it seemed he was doing. He wouldn’t deny the exhaustion that had settled in his bones from the fight with restful sleep. He always found himself in the same place on nights like this, when he couldn’t bring himself to bother a friend at odd hours.
The sound of silence that greeted him on the observation deck brought a small grin to his face and he almost felt a bit more relaxed already. The intruding sound of someone speaking almost didn’t hit his ears at first; he had to strain to hear the next sentence until he realized he wasn’t alone. He paused at her words, remaining not too far from where she stood near the window.
“No…no, i’m not gonna kick you out.” He told her quickly, shaking his head with a small smile, “Stay as long as you like.” He said reassuringly. By no means would he ever remove someone from an area of comfort, even if he’d wanted to be alone. Her presence was welcome though; he needed someone to bounce his mind off of and realized that being alone probably wasn’t the best for him in that moment.
“It’s almost 0300, y’know? No need for formalities; and I can’t believe i’m saying that to anyone other than Spock.” He couldn’t help the slight chuckle that broke from his lips at the remark, though he appreciated all the respect he had gained from his crew. “It really is beautiful thought, isn’t it? Works wonders for clearing your head.” Sometimes it really did do just that, but sometimes it did the opposite. Jim would remind himself of conspiracy theorists from centuries ago, constantly stuck on what could possibly be out there. The thought wasn’t as crazy now.
“Mind if I sit?”
