Player Alias: Shotimus
Character Name: Verity Simone Carlo
Allegiance: Human
Appearance Description: Verity is your average sized young adult, a bit on the slender side. She has short black hair jutting out on all sides as well as an undercut, adorning a dark colored jacket and top along with shredded black jeans. It isn't uncommon for her to be on the dirtier side with some scruff marks, especially as she's frequently on the move. On the back of her right shoulder is the tattoo of a green alien head, a tribute to a friend who was thought to have been killed.
Verity does have a set of red power armor that she acquired while stowing away on Ultra Magnus' ship when she was a bit younger. The armor still fits to this very day, in fact. Verity can wear pieces of it at a time, or she can assemble the whole suit to survive either off planet or in harsher environments for a time.
Personality: Verity is typically an independent girl, sticking to her own guns unless she absolutely needs assistance from someone else. It's not that she doesn't necessarily need the help, it's just the simple fact that she doesn't trust others due to her history. She will cycle through all other means possible, even stealing from others, before turning to another human. Why put the trust in someone who's just going to hurt you in the end anyway?
If you're lucky enough to get this gal as a friend, you've got a loyal friend for life.. provided you give her no reason at all to believe you are going to abandon her. Once she catches even the slightest hint, she's gone. She will trek halfway across the country with stolen transit tickets if she has to, but that may not be necessary anymore with her newfound friendship in Springer.
Verity has a habit of throwing nicknames at people, even when in dangerous situations. It's what helps keep her calm aside from poking a little fun, but she doesn't typically display fear in these situations either. She can get a bit mouthy, but that's just who she is in the heat of the moment.
Strengths + Weaknesses:
+ Fearless - Verity laughs in the face of danger, and prefers to tackle her problems head on. Sometimes literally. She may be fearless, but that doesn't mean she doesn't get scared sometimes. It's just that she prefers to keep those sorts of emotions to herself and then let it out when alone.
+ Smarter than the Average Human - Verity knows full well that among Cybertronian friends, she's only human and doesn't have nearly as long to live as they do. She's realized that as a human, that doesn't give her much time to be 'stoopid' as she would put it. She is resourceful and quite cunning, figuring ways out of situations whether they be through her own actions or just using a little technological help.
+ Tech Savvy - Verity has had plenty of time to play with the latest gadgets there are out there, and she's learning ways to hack them for her own use.
- Abandonment Issues - Verity has abandoned many fosters homes and well as many foster families, and it's all due to her being used to being left behind. The very first moment she feels she's going to be set aside, she has a tendency to book it.
- Trust Issues - Verity doesn't trust people often, and she isn't looking to form serious and deep relationships with anyone. While she sometimes relies on the assistance of a kind stranger willing to help, she also has two canisters of pepper spray at the ready just in case.
- Only Human - Despite her love for fighting with her Cybertronian friends, there's only so much Verity can do as a human. She doesn't have as long to live as her friends, and human illnesses can take her down.. not that she'll let it stop her. It will only hinder her.
- That's Rather Bold of You - Verity has a habit of running her mouth when she gets scared and will say things she doesn't necessarily mean. Sometimes she catches it and apologizes, but other times she doesn't.
Abilities: While Verity herself doesn't have any abilities as a human, she is quite skilled at pickpocketing and hacking.
Weaponry: Her fists, her mouth, two cans of pepper spray, and her power armor equipped with a blaster on each arm. Also her hacking skills she can use from draining bank accounts to communicating with ship's computers.
History: Verity's history is a bit of a complicated one, even from when she was young. Something happened to her that caused her a great deal of emotional harm, something she won't speak about, that pushes her away from most others. Verity has hopped from place to place across the United States, relying on stealing and the occasional well-meaning stranger. Even when offered a home, she's turned it away.
Things changed for Verity when she reached Phoenix, Arizona. She had attempted to steal a notebook computer from someone she believed to be an all-important business man. Hoping to get a good amount of money out of the guy's tech, she was quickly thrown into the world of Cybertronians after discovering the man had truly just been a holomatter avatar for an Autobot. Along with two other human males, Hunter O'Nion and Jeremy Pink (the former someone she caught a ride with and the latter a distant friend she spoke to via text), they learned about the Autobots and Decepticons.
They had a great deal of adventures together, but nothing had unsettled her more than hearing the news that Hunter had been killed when he had tagged along with another one of the Autobots. Thankfully it had been a lie as he had been captured, but it had left a lasting impression on her. After their recovery and learning that some of her Autobot friends were leaving, Verity was quick to stow away on her own Ultra Magnus' ship. She'd become friends with him during that time, leaving him to join the Wreckers when 'Uncle Mags' was about to send her back to Earth. Even though she returned to her home planet after a single mission, she had made a close bond with Springer.
Back 'home' and recovering for a deadly illness contracted from the aftermath of her single Wrecker mission with a little assistance in the form of a Cybertronian scientist, she now ventures the Earth with Springer while trying to lay low from the war still ongoing. They had both seen what it had done to many, and both wish to stay as far away from it as possible.
Roleplay/Writing Sample: All Verity could do was stare blankly in mild annoyance as she sat in her seat on the back of the bus at the seat in front of her. Ahead of her was this business type man, yammering away on the phone boorishly. Shouting about how this wasn't done right, or how the people that worked beneath him were nothing but trouble. It was enough for the girl to just want to gouge her eardrums out.
And he wasn't paying a bit of attention either with his bag just sitting there in the open.
Verity reached in, first grabbing the wallet. She had no intention for going for his cards, but rather the cash. Much easier to deal with, but there was that temptation. A few twenties would suffice; get her a few coffees and some food. Once she was satisfied, she dug a little bit further to find the irritant had another phone. First must have just been a business phone. Pulling it from the bag, she began to tinker with it. 'Serves Grumpy Cat over here right.'
The bus then pulled over for it's next stop, the girl hopping out of her seat and making her grand exit.
Finders keepers~.
