Characters: Glowstrike, Megatron Location: Decepticon Island, Crown City Lake Content Warnings: Mentioned Violence Plot Summary: Glowstrike has spent the past few months investigating Crown City and other areas of Earth, now she makes contact with the Warlord himself.
Glowstrike had been spending several weeks investigating the incidents involving the Decepticons under her command, trying to figure out what exactly had been causing so much interference. These Autobots they had spoken of, they seemed a ragtag team, undisciplined and all over the place. Yet, they had proven more than a match the remaining prisoners of the Alchemor who had taken heed to remain covert and on the half of the ship they had possession of.
But, in her outings she had come across some rather interesting encounters, proof that more than just her own group and the Bee team were there. Some of the big names had set up shop here as well, intriguing the Insecticon femme.
Finally though, she felt it was about time to make herself and the remaining former prisoners known. So, she had fashioned a makeshift beacon, one that would only register on Decepticon frequencies of which she had since activated upon reaching the lake shoreline. On the off chance Glowstrike's signal caught unwanted attention the ship at least would go undetected and unseen and that enemy would have to deal with her personally. And as an extra precaution, Glowstrike had taken to using the thick foliage of Crown City's forest to her advantage to be hidden for the time being, the darkness being enough to keep her out of sight.
It had been some time since Megatron had heard word of Steeljaw. He'd known that the wolf mech had stood his ground in Crown City, a region with more Autobots that were left unchecked. Of course.. Megatron did know the location of the base. That much the wolf had given him, but he had no more information.
..Aside from the Alchemor. It was a ship that had crashed somewhere in that area with many escaped Decepticon prisoners. A part of him was tempted to check on those prisoners, and at the same time.. why should he? They had been foolish enough to be captured by the Autobots to begin with, had they not?
He hadn't given the area much mind outside of sending scouts to keep an optic on what the second Autobot base occupants had been up to. They had not engaged, but simply spied.. In time the base would fall, but as he had told Tarn.. it would be best to take down that base and Optimus' base at precisely the same moment. There would be nowhere for them to run.. and the war could finally end in Decepticon favor.
His thoughts were brought back when a signal was received in the area. While he normally sent his troops to deal with these moments.. he himself wished to check it out. In the off chance Steeljaw was spotted, he would personally put an end to him. It came to no surprise when he arrived that there was no wolf mech in sight. Nothing but trees were in his line of sight.
Who had answered her beacon was the last cybertronian Glowstrike would have expected to answer it.
Landing before her was the Decepticon warlord himself, the very founder and leader in the flesh, Megatron. For a moment, Glowstrike was rather stunned by this turn of events, having expected a scout or an underling, but not Megatron himself whom she had not seen since the battle in the mine. Though she had slipped away well before Megatron could fully comprehend the help he had gotten aside from those who had been assembled that day. And now here he was, heeding her attempts to contact the main Decepticon forces. Quite the turn of events indeed.
Upon hearing his demand, Glowstrike made no hesitation to make herself known as she dropped from a branch, her bio-lights now quite visible in the darkness. "I will admit Lord Megatron, you are the last I would expect to follow a beacon out to this dump of a place." Glowstrike spoke as she carefully stepped from the shadows, wisely keeping some distance. While her patience was thin and her temper swift, it came second to Megatron's own, a reputation she was well aware of and wouldn't take lightly. She had advantage of knowing the area better than he did, but his skill and power still exceeded her own. For all intents and purposes, caution seemed the best course of action at the moment.
She gave a small bow of her head, her golden optics never leaving the large spiky mech, "The one you seek would be me."
At the sound of Glowstrike's voice, Megatron's helm jerked in her direction. There before him was an Insecticon femme of which he knew not the name, but recalled seeing once before back when he had dealt with Rodimus and that younger wrecker. He could not recall, however, how she had come to be a part of their team but it was something that did not bother Megatron in the least.
"And I will admit.. that I did not anticipate a meeting with you."
The warlord's optics narrowed a bit. There'd been a small hope that it would've been Steeljaw at this location, but it was not meant to be. For now he would just have to see what this femme wanted. He approached Glowstrike, looking directly at her with his full attention.
"For what reason did you set up the beacon? This had better not be a waste of my time, Insecticon."
Glowstrike regarded Megatron for a long moment. He hadn't expected to be meeting her? Who else would he have encountered aside from the Autobots? There was the mysterious wolf-like mech, Steeljaw, but she had only come across him once before and since then he had been rather scarce. Though the thought of him still brought an uneasy feeling and made her energon boil with rage for some reason, something she couldn't quite place.
Still, she could consider this feeling another time.
"I set the beacon because I wish to help your army grow my Lord." Glowstrike answered as she straightened herself, clasping her hands behind her back. "You see, I and many others came here aboard a prison ship, the Alchemor, which I assume you are already aware of." Though Glowstrike had to wonder how much Megatron was aware of the escaped prisoners, or if he really cared for that matter. With her imprisonment and others they probably could be regarded as weak or the lowest of the low, but she wasn't allowing this to stop her from making a case.
"But where are my manners, my name is Glowstrike." Glowstrike introduced herself properly before she came to the lake side, usually covered in a thick fog and making it incredibly difficult to see your own hand. "If you are willing, I can show you exactly what you can expect with additional forces."
Megatron fought the urge to roll his optics at the mention of the prison ship, remembering all too well that Steeljaw had also found his way upon the ship. He could have staged a rescue operation, yes.. but what would he have gained? They had been foolish enough to be captured, and none of which were as loyal as Soundwave or Shockwave, let alone a powerful ally such as Starscream. If nothing else, they would have served as nothing more than cannon fodder if not recaptured by the Autobots.
"Glowstrike." The name left Megatron's throat with a growl as he approached the Insecticon femme, largely unamused by her solitary offer. Perhaps it would do good to see what more she had to show, but it would take much more for the warlord to accept such troops. His crimson optics glared brightly in the dark, almost making his presence that much more intimidating. It was the look that would drive most cowards away just to save their own armor plating.
"Tell me.. What am I to gain from soldiers captured by the Autobots? You are bold to call me here, and I shall give you credit for such daring, but what better off am I with your soldiers than the Vehicons aboard my ship?"
