Starscream was in the air, which meant he was in the best mood anyone would find him in. Wind gliding over his wings and nose as his vehicle mode kept a steady course sent him into the same contented mood in which one might find a cat who is being brushed. He had already performed one set of impressive aerial maneuvers, simply for his own enjoyment, seeing as he had no audience. He didn't need a viewer to remind him that he was the best. He was the Air Commander, of course he was the best. Only his trinemates could come close to his air superiority, but they certainly couldn't beat him. He could feel another set coming on, but, he would refrain for the moment.
Half of his attention was on the scanners he'd deployed upon takeoff. The other half was, as usual, scheming. He'd needed to get away from those sycophantic menaces of the DJD just to think clearly. By the Allspark, greater annoyances he'd never known. If any move against Megatron were to be made, those of the DJD would need to be out of the way. Fortunately, he hadn't seen the small skulking one or the large, bladed one in a while. But, Tarn and Kaon were still all too present, and he'd caught glimpses of the smelter. A shudder ran through his frame. Just one of them was enough, but all three? Such a setback in his plans.
In all honesty, the DJD were one of his major deterrents in any attempt to unseat Megatron. His reputation was at a serious low, which meant he couldn't gather nearly enough followers to truly make a stand. And with so many loyalists about, it would be foolish to try. Thus, he was left to wait, as he had been for vorns. At least this search for the Autobots was a good occupant of his time. The Prime was another one who needed to be removed from the playing field if Starscream were to make a triumphant return to Cybertron. Him, and his little successor, Rodimus. It wouldn't do to have another Prime, or potential Prime, or whatever the slag he was, running about either.
So many people in his way...and that centuries-old frustration reeling its familiar head yet again.

"You touch it."
"No, you."
The rabbit was exceptionally calm as the two identical Autotroopers crouched around it, debating whether or not it was safe enough to poke.
"Come on, we're late enough for reporting in as it is. Touch it."
"No way! No telling what kinda biological... contaminants or pathogens are crawling around on that thing."
The rabbit, meanwhile, was unmoved.
"What a shame. I thought you were the trooper who held Bleak Point during the siege of Argo VII without any reinforcements; figured you'd be brave enough to poke some Earth critter."
"Oh, no that wasn't me. That was AT-55227."
"Who's that?"
"No idea."
"Wanna head back now?"
The two troopers passed another glance to the ferocious furry friend standing between them. It blinked an unspoken judgement.
"Fine. Hopefully we won't be-"
The sudden sound of a jet engine slicing through the air broke the quiet of the forest, drawing the attention of the duo.
"Did you hear that?"
"Course I did, my audials are working aren't they?"
"Quit being such a smartass and think. There aren't any human aircraft scheduled to pass by for another five hours, and we're the only ones on shift for today."
They thought for a moment.
"You thinking what I'm thinking?"
"That the Captain'll post us to sanitation if we don't check it out?"
"Bingo."
Their course of action now certain, the two Autotroopers shot off towards the sky, away from their furry rabbit friend. The pair transformed into their Earth-appropriate jet modes, and zoomed off to close the distance between themselves and the mysterious interloper.
It wasn't long before they could see the red silhouette of the aircraft in front of them. From a cursory visual scan, it wasn't one of theirs, nor was it a human.
"Base-1, we're tracking a UAC burning ozone just north of our position, moving to investigate."
"Keep me posted," Base-1 responded.
