Player Alias: lianawalter
Character Name: Starscream
Allegiance: Decepticon [?]
Appearance Description: Tall and lean, built streamlined to accommodate his speed in the air, Starscream sports colors of mostly red and white, with hints of gunmetal gray where his protoform shows through on his frame. In his bipedal state he stands confident and moves with purpose in his stride. The thrusters of his alternate form sit on either side of his head, providing added protection. His wings span in a wide arch behind him, with the insignia of his faction emblazoned towards the end of each appendage. Considered fairly attractive by the standards of Cybertron, though at this point his reputation keeps most from bothering with him. His altmode is that of a Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor.
Personality: Starscream has been referred to by some as a 'noble swordsmen' and prides himself on his skills with a blade and in aerial combat. He's arrogant and overbearing most of the time and considers himself far above those around him due to his combat skills. He's self assured and self confident, believing in himself absolutely even when he fails. But, due to that, when he does suffer a hard loss rather in battle or personally, it tends to send him into a raging fit. He doesn't know how to process the loss when he thinks so highly of himself, leading him to trash his quarters when he's having one of his fits.
On the field his is calculating and meticulous, paying close attention to the battle and his place in it. He is the Air Commander of the Decepticon forces, a title he takes very seriously even though Megatron often does not. For his seekers, who are the master race of Cybertron, he will do pretty much anything. Everyone else is a lesser frame type and can be worked with but not necessarily respected. This often leads him to going head to head with Megatron, whom he believes is not fit to lead.
When his mind is quiet and he has some time outside of battle Starscream enjoys experimenting and creating new things in his small personal laboratory. It is the one place that his tantrums never touch, and he can often be found there when not on duty or picking a fight with Megatron. Allot of his personal weapons are from his own experiments, as he often tests things on himself. He never has trouble finding parts and materials for his experiments, seeing as he knows who to talk to and how to sweet talk the people that have what he wants. His endless curiosity in how far he can push the limits of science keep him occupied sometimes for days at a time.
This seeker has discovered, quite recently, that he has little tolerance for those that choose to attack non-combatants who are not involved in a battle. Its why he has no patience for either of the leaders, since he feels they are both ill suited to lead. Megatron, because he's crazy, and Optimus Prime for allowing humans into the fight between their two factions. Allowing sparklings to fight in a war they have no part of tends to make him very angry.
Strengths + Weaknesses:
~Air Commander : Starscream is in charge of all of the aerial aspects of the Decepticon's forces, commanding them whenever an air based battle occurs. He's gifted in aerial tactics and can generally outpace anyone in the air.
~Overachiever : Thought already a well trained warrior and notable scientist; Starscream is always striving for more and is never satisfied. This aspect means that while he's always striving to better himself, he also tends to become easily ill content with his lot in life and pushes things that most know to leave well enough alone. Such as Megatron.
~Inventor : Starscream has invented several of his more effective weapons and has religiously handed out upgrades to most of the seekers under his command. After testing all of them himself, of course.
~Black-out rage : This seeker can become very overwrought when he fails to do something he believes he should have easily achieved. This can oftentimes lead to him losing time in a fit of rage and destroying his rooms, or picking a brawling fight with mechs twice his size and strength. He doesn't usually remember what he's done after the fact.
~Warrior : Starscream is both a trained dogfighter and swordsmen. He considers himself a very talented, even genius warrior.
Abilities:
Spaceflight Capability- Starscream can break atmosphere fairly easily and is capable of maneuvering equally well both in and out of a vacuum.
Gifted Flier- Even without his military prowess Starscream stands out among his own build as someone wh is a very talented flier. Rather with speed or agility he performs well above the standards of a seeker.
Bipedal and Alternate mode flight- No matter which form he is in Starscream will never be without the ability to reach the skies with ease.
Weaponry:
Wing-blades : One of his few methods of combat in his altmode, Starscream's wings are razor fine and sharp, capable of cutting through smaller opponents and damaging larger ones.
Blade [Twin blades] : A pair of finely honed energon blades that are his primary weapons in his bipedal state.
Sonic Blast : Tied into his vocal processes, Starscream has the ability to emit a high pitched shriek that has the ability to shatter audios in a short range around him. It is this ability that has given him his name.
Energon Blaster : Considered a last alternative in case his blades fail him Starscream carries a small energon blaster.
Altmode armed : His altmode is also equipped with all standard weaponry given to an F-22 Raptor, including a range of bullets, missiles, and a handful of sabot rounds.
History:
Starscream was cold-sparked in Iacon and merged into the Decepticon army almost immediately. His earliest memories are of training with the Decepticons and learning his way around a blade. The war and the bloodshed is all he has ever known.
From early on he was forced to tolerate Megatron's constant belittling and beating over every tiny percieved fault. Nothing Starscream ever did was good enough, and he was often forced to feel less than worthy and even disposable. Despite fighting and training for Megatron for many years he was never given any respect or appreciation for his efforts. It took a long time for him to become disillusioned by his leader, and to realize that Megatron was not fit to rule, that nothing would ever be good enough for the other mech. He was disposable, a life to be thrown away to his lord's whims. Any compassion and sense of friendship was destroyed during his efforts to survive the years of abuse that came from serving Megatron from such a young age.
In the Earth cycle 2010 Starscream would follow his lord to the planet overrun by organic life, in search of the Mini-Cons and the power they supposedly provided. As well as the three great weapons told about in rumor and history; the Star Saber, Requiem Blaster, and Skyboom Shield.
Early on Megatron 'gifted' him with the Star Saber and then abandoned him on the battlefield as part of one of his schemes. This backfired as a thoroughly fed up Starscream then changed sides and joined the Autobots. Not because he believed in what they were doing, but because he was certain they'd help him destroy Megatron and take over the Decepticons once and for all.
Although reluctant at first the seeker found himself slowly growing fond of the Autobot's human allies as he spent more time with them, especially with the young female of the group, Alexis. It was at this point that his belief that Optimus was an idiot began, as he was forced time and again to protect and even rescue the children. Despite himself he would reluctantly refer to himself as Alexis' guardian, though never in front of the Autobot who claimed the same title.
Eventually, however, thanks to the machinations of Thrust and Sideways, Starscream went back to the Decepticons along with the Star Saber. Not long after he returned to the fold the thread of Unicron appeared. It didn't matter then, the war, the factions. It didn't matter in the face of the great destroyer. Starscream would change his focus in trying to make Megatron unite the Decepticons with the Autobots under Optimus Prime's rule at least long enough to defeat the bigger thread. When Megatron refused Starscream challenged him for one last battle, then attacked Unicron himself.
It was, in that moment, when his spark should have been destroyed, that he disappeared from his own world.
[History altered, mind destroyed]
When shifting through into the convergence Starscream literally collided with other forms of himself, three others to be exact. Mechs there both like him and different, temperaments wildly different and history shattered. His mind broke almost immediately, with memory scattered with occurrences from four different worlds; including his own.
In one moment he was a cold sparked solo flier from Iacon, in the next he was the sparked prince of Vos with siblings and two creators. He was a scientist and a coward, he would meet someone that lit up his world and then lose him at the same time.
The children he remembered and then forgot, the Star Saber lost to him though he remembers holding it once before. Massive holes in his memory filling and abandoning him time and again. The threat of Unicron over his head, fighting Megatron in varying degrees of violence and brutality.
"I am not a coward."
But he was. He had to make Megatron believe he was loyal, though he back-stabbed him frequently enough that everyone knew he was lying. Unloyal, fickle, vain, surrounded on all sides by enemies, with only himself to rely on.
Sparked within a trine, so that he was never alone in the world, holding air superiority over all those that shared his skies. Skywarp and Thundercracker. Two dear to his spark and then lost again. Friends, allies, enemies, those to be discarded after their usefulness ran out. Round and around in his head, but one thing was for certain.
Whoever he was, whatever this conglomeration of selves became, was all up to his own will power and his need to succeed in the things he did. To regain himself, he'd have to fight his way back out of the swirl of memories both foreign and familiar.
Roleplay/Writing Sample:
What was it about these squishy beings that endeared them so much to the Autobots? To Starscream, it seemed that they were only a nuisance, something to be ignored at best. But to harm or attempt to harm the humans provoked the unending rage of the Autobots, particularly the ones that called themselves a 'guardian' to a human charge. It was disgusting. What use were these small, defenseless beings? Aside from the point that grown mechs should really know better than to bring sparklings of any species into a war. It...it bothered him. It bothered him so much. How old had he been when the war started? Was he much older himself when he'd been forced to choose a side and take up arms? When his homeworld had become a battlefield and chaos reigned supreme? And now here it was happening again. By the time these sparklings reached majority, would they have become as accustomed to war as he had? Or would their entanglement with the Autobots end in their premature demise? For him, that was something unacceptable.
Optimus Prime was a fool.
